For all those trying to integrate All Products 4.4b with Category Enable & Disable contribution. Kudos to Monika in Germany for the code expertise in the solution.

 

Edit the code in catalog/allprods.php as follows:

Hi everyone !

 

I'm really confused about this contribution :'(

 

I want to install this contribution (disable/unable categories) but I don't know where to start...

 

Is it posible that someone will upload a full version of this contribution that all the new users like me will be able to install it correctly ???

I have installed "specials catergorie". I have in index.php some problems with the $listing_sql rows.

 

Normaly I have to change for "Enable Disable Categories":

I need some help to add it on the featured products contrib.. anyone solved it?

It's pretty easy. All you need to do is join the products table to the products to category table on the product id. And then join the product to category table to the categories table on the category id and then add a where selector for category status = '1'.

 

I'll take a look at the code for featured products and upload it. It should be fairly simple . :)

 

This funtionality should be in OSC by default. It's so useful to be able to upload your products into hidden or seasonal categories so you can get organized before the category goes live. Imagine being able to upload your holiday line months in advance.

Looks like someone made a mod to elimate products from featured products drop down if their categories are disabled.

I disagree with this method, as many people disable categories to do work behind the scenes before published a category for the world to see and would need the ability to create featured products for those categories that are not yet public.

 

A better way would be to simply query products from active categories in featured_products.php. I just uploaded a mod here:

There are some slight discrepencies when you compare them (I use beyond compare) - how up to date is the Enable/Disable code?

after adding enable /disable category i got problem with product_new.php

 

1054 - Unknown column 'p.manufacturers_id' in 'on clause'

I'm trying to install Enable Disable Categories contribution (latest version) I already have the latest version of Header Tags SEO V 3.0.8. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5851 I see there are conflicts with adding the code. For example:

 

In EDC it says to add to catalog/admin/categories.php:

As you can see they are different.

 

I haven't progressed any further so I don't know any other conflicts. I also have just installed the Product Extra Fields contribution http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2202 .

 

Does anyone have these mods on their site with EDC too? And if so can you show me how to incorporate all three without code conflicts?

you could try Hide Categories & Products http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5907 instead, much simpler install & does the same for the most part
