[contrib] - Zipship - Zipcode (regex) Delivery/shipping Module By Mark Enriquez

Guest

Recommended Posts

hi!

I just installed zipship and tested the module with some zip areas.

Although it works properly, calculating the delivery costs for each defined area, it shows the following error in the main page, above the header:

Warning: ereg(): REG_EMPTY in c:\windows\serv-n\www\oceano_loja\includes\modules\shipping\zipship.php on line 151

I noticed it appears 9 times, because I have only 1 area filled...

Is there a way to avoid this error?

thank you very much!

Hi,

You must make sure that the $this->num_zones is correctly set to the EXACT number of zones that you are defining, or else you will get warnings.

Has this module been ported to work with Multi Vendor Shipping?

I have a heavily modified, older version of this awesome zipship module in my shop but now need to add a new shipper using the same type of perameters offered by this version. The MVS addition makes it hard to drop in this new module without a bunch of additional work.

Canadian Postal code info.

I found a couple of links that will make it easier for Canadian users to breakdown there shipping rates to very specific locations.

Has anyone merged the functionality of the REGEX zipcode module for the zone selection into the MultiGeoZones MultiTables module? It would be a truely powerful module.

Problems with certain zip codes showing fees when they shouldn't.

Zone 1: 0,1,2,3,4,5,5,6,7,8,9

fee: $0

Zone 2: 10,11,330,331,332,333,90,91,92,935

fee: $50

Zone 3: 10000,33000,90000

fee: $0

I am using various delivery zip codes to test my numbers and 48109 triggers the fee, can anyone tell me why my thinking and/or numbers are wrong?

Number of zones is set to 3.

Thank you so much for your help, people.

Figured out my own problem by reading Mark's stuff. Didn't realize I had to use the Regex characters in my zone numbers ^4 instead of 4, for example.

Cheers!

Help! I put together the zone zipcode strings for the 8 zones shipping from NJ. The longest string is 610 characters in length. The routine allows up to 255. How do I change the acceptable length to 1027?

The zones look follows:

No need to reply... I converted the 2 and 3 digit zipcode list to regular expressions which caused the longest string to be 252 characters. Tested fine at http://regexlib.com/RETester.aspx. It should be okay now. Thanks, Rich

Hi,

It works good with 3 zones but when I try to add more zones upating $this->num_zones = 10; it only shows blank fields (3 fields for each extra zones) without any descriptions and doesn't really update when I click on "update" button. I'm not sure if it's relevant but I couldn't use the last version (posted 26 Feb 2008) since it didn't appear under shipping module but 2nd last one (8 Nov 2007) was fine without the problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

First of all i would like to thank you for this module, its great!

I have everything working, though i have one problem. I would like the module ONLY to show when products weigh more than 31,5 kg's. Our local delivery service (TNT Post) delivers packages up to 31.5 kg, and we are only going to deliver products heavier than this ourselves. How can i get this done?

As it is now, checkout_shipping.php is showing Zip rate delivery (expensive) for small packages (sometimes not expensive at all).

I have figured out there must be 2 ways to do this, i just can't get it done :( :

- An if>else built in either zipship of checkout_shipping reffering to the product weight and checking if its >31,5

- Multiple forced shipping methods per product ( I now have prod2ship which makes it possible to force 1 shipping method to a product, if it would be possible to force multiple shipping methods, i could force all products that dont use this Zip/postalcode delivery module to all other methods and force the heavy/bulky products that our local delivery service wont ship.

Could someone be so kind to tell me how to script the If>then>else (or If>else) to check the product weight, and only show this module when the weight of a product is >31.5? Or is there an other option?

Help would be more than appreciated

ZIPSHIP v4 just released!

fyi, the newest version of ZIPSHIP postcode-based shipping and delivery has just been posted on the module area. new features include..

1. support for PHP 5.3

2. removal of "hack" that was messing up the regex evaluations.

3. added much better examples of regex usage and comments in the default install

to be honest, over the past few years the code had been kinda mangled up by well-meaning hackers, and needed a solid retool...which it got.

feel feel to contact me with any question and/or comments.

regards,

- mark

Hello, Here is my wish list:

1) I think that a way to define how many zones you need from the admin edit side of the panel would be a great idea instead of modifying the code each and every time you need to change the number of zones. You know uninstall - reinstall to make this work.

2) A way to add more zones as needed

3) A way to delete out old zones.

If you want I can do this and send you the modifications. But it'll take me some time. :-
