Problems With People Checking Out On My Site.

Look below my signature for the Fixed Width Site With CSS link. It will enable you to contain all of your page elements within an 800x600 screen resolution, apply a border and border style, centre it on the screen and apply a seperate background colour outside of the 800x600 (for people with larger screens). Be sure to remove any absolute sizing of tables you may already have applied in an attempt to fix the width of the site - they won't be needed.

  • 3 weeks later...

I have had a look at the site and it is looking good. I have just started to play about with the STS template system but I dont seem to get things to go how I want like the shoping cart and and search box's to look how I want. Also I have notice that every thing that you go over that links on your site goes to a html page with the name of your product as the page name but mine still goes to a .PHP page with all the rubbish at the end.

Any advise on how to sort the above would great.

Thanks

Dave

Maybe you should post this in a seperate thread?

Thanks but I think I need to access and change the code itself. I have pasted the code below as it appears in the 'View Source' option in a browser from my front page:

<!-- start searchbox //-->
<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
 <tr>
<td height="14" class="infoBoxHeading"><img src="images/infobox/corner_right_left.gif" border="0" alt="" width="1" height="1"></td>
<td height="14" class="infoBoxHeading" nowrap><img src="images/pixel_trans.gif" border="0" alt="" width="11" height="14"></td>

 </tr>
</table>
<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="1" class="infoBox">
 <tr>
<td><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="3" class="infoBoxContents">
 <tr>
<td><img src="images/pixel_trans.gif" border="0" alt="" width="100%" height="1"></td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
<td align="left" class="boxText"><form name="advanced_search" action="http://www.mrcloud.com/advanced_search_result.php" method="get"> <input type="hidden" name="search_in_description" value="1"><input type="hidden" name="inc_subcat" value="1" 1><input type="text" name="keywords" size="10" maxlength="30" class="searchForm" style="width: 95px"><select name="categories_id"><option value="" SELECTED>All Categories</option><option value="22">Character T-shirts</option><option value="25">Miscellaneous T-shirts</option><option value="21">Music T-shirts</option><option value="24">Pop Art T-shirts</option><option value="23">Retro T-shirts</option></select><input type="hidden" name="osCsid" value="9e7fc47918427b538a2fe47969d48246"><input type="image" src="includes/languages/english/images/buttons/button_quick_find.gif" border="0" alt="Search" title=" Search "></form></td>

 </tr>
 <tr>
<td><img src="images/pixel_trans.gif" border="0" alt="" width="100%" height="1"></td>
 </tr>
</table>
</td>
 </tr>
</table>
<!-- end searchbox //-->

Does anybody have any clues as to where it is? I have used a search program to search all 500+ files on my site!

imaginative, colourful and non-stock... very good indeed, has potential!

I think the create account fields are too close to the column left so they look out of place without a spacer image or correct pixels creating the gap.

I would add a contact us contribution and remove the nochex logo but maybe keep the credit/debit card logos

Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back!

Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you?

There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere.

  • 1 year later...

Hi all,

My site has been posted here in the past when I first went live, but now I would like a more specific piece of advice.

Looking at Google Analytics I can see that through Goal Funnelling I have, this month, lost approximately 85% of buyers who begin the checkout process but don't finish it. 45% abandon on the first page of checkout whilst 66% who reach 'Order Confirmation' are abandoning at that late stage.

This seems like a staggeringly high figure.

Is this normal for a OScommerce or do you think there is something wrong with my site to cause this?

Any advice would be appreciated.
