paulrus Posted October 28, 2002 Share Posted October 28, 2002 Has anyone updated the free shipping with $X purchase contribution so you can disallow certain items? I've got it set up to allow free shipping after $100 in sales, but the problem is we've got a few items that a really really heavy - someone just recently bought nothing but heavy items and bought just over $100 worth of stuff - well the shipping was nearly $60 on it (shipping to Japan) so we really got hit hard again. The best solution for me would be to make the discount shut down based on weight, but just being able to select certain items and exclude them from the discount would be just fine. Then, when shipping is computed, you need rather than use a generic free shipping on products over $XX amount a shipping module that will calculate items to be removed from shipping when you reach $XX, ie take out their weight from the total weight, and then send that weight to be used in calculating a regular shipping charge via UPS or FedEx or however you normally ship for orders under $XX.
