migrated to new server

Hi

 

I've just moved my site to a new server

 

 

i copied some of the database files over for customers and orders etc. etc

 

But now on all previous orders in order history it show the £ symbol as a black diamond with a ? in it .

 

i think this to do with the database but i dont know how to fix it

 

 

any help appreciated

Well - you need to login to the db and see *exaclty* what is being displayed in the database. The translation may have been lost when you exported/imported the db.

 

The server issue or your html issue is the charset and encoding that is being displayed :

Instead of displaying like this :

you could write like this :

I don't know how to do this for the order history but you should look up the ascii code for the character you require and paste this in. Do not use the html code as this will not appear correctly in things like emails and invoices (unless you are using html versions of these).
