However, a high volume of his customers complain that he is 'taking' their $ because they don't understand how the authorization process works (placing a hold on the funds). My client has requested that we bypass the preauthorization step, allowing customers to authorize and complete the transaction in a single step. If anyone has insight on how to do this I would certainly appreciate it! Do they want to both authorize and capture at the time of the sale? Or do they want to both authorize and capture later? There is no reason that you can't authorize and capture at the same time, but doing both after the sale will probably require storing the credit card numbers in your database which is a big can of worms.
