Guest
I'm using snaphost version 0020915.tar.gz and have it isntalled on few different servers for development. Added some contrubutions, but no great changes to source. Anyway on all these intsallations my orders trough whatever payment module I use are not logged in admin ? Any Ideas ? Also do I have to make my payment processor return to checkout_success.php or what am I missing. Some orders randomly are being logged , but the majority dont get logged ? :( I'll apreciate all ideas you have about my silly problem. Thanx

Also do I have to make my payment processor return tocheckout_success.php Your payment processor needs to return to checkout_process.php not checkout_sucess.php Mark Evans osCommerce Monkey & Lead Guitarist for "Sparky + the Monkeys" (Album on sale in all good record shops) --------------------------------------- Software is like sex: It's better when it's free. winterradio
I just spent 20 hours straight porting a snapshot from January chock full of customizations and a 2G database. I finally have everything working great except for the orders section in the database. They do not show up. If I search for the order number I get the order and when I update the order then it shows in the list. Any ideas? On another note I feel the update section of the order process could be improved by storing each update AND comment that corresponds to it. The way in which it is set up now makes keeping the customer updated a guessing game especially if you have no idea what you wrote to them from the beginning. The comment box should allow html if wanted, but more importantly the comments contained within it should be contained in the e-mail, in order to save the customer time instead of forcing them to: copying/pasting/login/order_history/view_order when they wish to view the extended detail My two cents any feedback would be appreciated H. Guest
Well, you folks may have gotten this figured out already, but in case you haven't, I stumbled upon the answer to this problem. if your order_status table is empty, you need to refill it. In order to do so, you must look under the Localization section in your admin. You'll see the order_status area. In there you should insert different statuses that your orders could have (ie. Processing, Pending, Backordered, Shipped, etc.) Just do an insert and enter the possibilities one by one. Each entry requires the English/Espanol/German, but you can simply enter same language for all. Once these are entered (even just a single status option is enough), your orders will show up in the admin under the Customers section. Hope this helps someone. Took me awhile to find it. Nila
I had the same problem. Then I discovered that my shipping, order total, and payment modules were missing in my OS Commerce database, even though they are intact on my server. Everything has been working fine, until yesterday. It's hard to understand how such a big problem could occur when the code has not been modified. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions? rubygirl
i have had this happen on 3 different stores on different servers for no reason and still can't figure out why or what happened .... as for a temp fix all that can be done now is enter the order # into the OrderID field in admin to pull up the orders - however still can't see the orders .... any fixes other than reinstalling - I too have gone as far as install a clean version and try to import the database and still not resolved.... inkfive
I'm also having a problem with all orders being logged. people who's orders went through are all ok. but the people who's orders we know were placed and are being shown through Verisign Payflow Link manager but aren't showing up in the "orders" section ARE showing up in the "Customer" section, but when you try to find out their order it says... 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '-50, 50' at line 1 select o.orders_id, o.customers_name, o.customers_id, o.payment_method, o.date_purchased, o.last_modified, o.currency, o.currency_value, s.orders_status_name, ot.text as order_total from orders o left join orders_total ot on (o.orders_id = ot.orders_id), orders_status s where o.customers_id = '59' and o.orders_status = s.orders_status_id and s.language_id = '1' and ot.class = 'ot_total' order by orders_id DESC limit -50, 50 Any Help would be GREATLY Appreciated
taheri6
i had the same problem too, but i solved with your answer, i just created the order status ( pending,....) and it's great Thanks guys.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am having a similar problem, but not really :) (helpful huh) Instead the page throws an error saying that I have a sytax error in my sql. Example: The page admin/orders.php (or any page that has to do with orders for that matter) Runs SQL: select o.orders_id, o.customers_name, o.payment_method, o.date_purchased, o.last_modified, o.currency, o.currency_value, s.orders_status_name, ot.text as order_total from orders o left join orders_total ot on (o.orders_id = ot.orders_id), orders_status s where o.orders_status = s.orders_status_id and s.language_id = '1' and ot.class = 'ot_total' order by o.orders_id DESC limit -20, 20 It errors becuase of the "limit -20" If I run the same sql statement and omit that part it works fine. I dont know what to do past editing all the stuff manually - but I used textpad to look for limit, -20, etc and it didnt find it anywhere in the files. Any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance for reading this!

inkfive
I'll be working on this again today. From the research I've done so far, the reason why the orders aren't being logged is because shoppers are not returning to the site from the Verisign Transaction page. (I'm assuming that you're using an off-site paymet method like myself.) The contribution you should be looking for is called ordercheck. This contribution logs the order to the admin prior to sending the shopper off the site rather than after. This way if they don't hit the return shopping button, it still gets logged. I'll let you know if it works for me later.
jpm226
was reading the boards here and was wondering if there was an answer to why the orders were not being logged in. I am helping manage a store for a friend and she uses a pay-pal pay option for her payments and the last 3 people who have purchased something have sucessfully paid her in pay-pal, but the order never shows up. the only changes that were made to the site were adding of products and adding some content to pages (condition of use that kind of thing) the payments show up in paypal but they are nowhere to be found in the customer or orders reports. I'm a bit lost. any help would be great...any insight you may have? thanks in advance.

Then I received a "notification of payment received" from PayPal but I can't find the order in order to fill it! Help! Sounds like maybe it's the same issue as this person had? If you are using Paypal, you have to log into your Paypay account and turn on "Auto Return" in Website Payment Preferences to force the purchaser to return to your site after completing the Paypal transaction. Otherwise, Paypal just collects payment and OSC does not know that an order was placed. You need to specify a return URL and I believe it should be order_process.php. Good luck and thanks to all the users who contribute to this forum. So far I've been able to find eveything I need here.

stealthpaws
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but it's what came up when I searched on "order emails not delivered"- I'm pretty new at this, and I just got my first order- BUT it was not completed, i.e., she hasn't paid me yet. It shows up as a "pending". (I'm traveling and have a note on my web site to contact me directly before ordering to make sure I can fill the order, but she waited nearly 2 weeks- and then asked me if I'd gotten her order in an email she sent direct to me). My question is, does OSC notify me of an order even if it's not paid? My email to my customer went through- no problem, and I emailed myself to test that also. It works. I just don't know how it's supposed to work. thanks for your patience with this n00b!
