Raw Access Logs: Where can I see the referrers?

Hi everyone,

My control panel has a handy feature in the web/ftp stats called "Latest Visitors" which shows the details including referrers of the last 300 visitors. However, it is limited to that number of 300.

Is there any way to see the referrers for a particular IP address using the Raw Access Logs? I'm sure this information is stored somewhere, I just can't seem to figure it out.

Here are two lines from my raw access log. The first line is the first instance of the visitor being recorded, but I can't see any mention of a referrer.

81.67.151.78 - - [17/Jun/2006:03:58:56 +1000] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 5324 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1)"

81.67.151.78 - - [17/Jun/2006:03:58:57 +1000] "GET /stylesheet.css HTTP/1.1" 200 8626 "http://www.greekandromancoins.com/" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1)"

Thanks for your help,

If you think, its stored in the database (I dont know it), why not searching through the database using phpmyadmin (or something else) for the IP, youre looking for ?

For the log files, maybe a import to a spreadsheet application may help, with the autofilter funciton you can filter for the IP address.

Sometimes, also NO referer is given, because someone is coming by direct access / bookmark.

This is what I see, when I look at access from Google.

Maybe this helps a little.

The data in your server logs is dependant on the log format being used. The examples that you gave look like Apache Combined format, although I can't be certain with only two examples. If my guess is correct, then the Referer field is the second from the last in each line. So the first example would be "-" (none given) and your second example would be

I quoted that last one exactly as it was shown in your example, but I believe the forum code mangled your example. I would be somewhat surprised to see that format in a real log file.
