oh i see lol :sweating: (www.bedmakeruk.com) well the menu, i think it was a bad choice but the client loves it and have to go with him. and as im using that menu i cannot sadly change the width of it.

i thought the buttons went very well with the site, and easy to read. any suggestions in mind?

Ok,

Here are my suggestions for:

http://www.trademoorinternational.co.uk/catalog/

First the header seems very plain and contains lots of empty space. I do not get the impression that I am visiting a furniture website just by looking at the design. I personally would add a picture of a piece of furniture to the header.

Also, the menu rollover should stick indicating where I am on the site. For example when I click the About Us link in the navigation it should remain depressed.

I would also add a spacer below powered by osCommerce. Other then that I like the color scheme throughout your site. I also like the new menu although it still needs some work (maybe add a plus/minus indicating it is expandable)

Sumario, any comments about the lines in between the rows in the category box in trademoorinternational ? I love how they look.

good idea about the header/image, will look into some ideas.

another good idea about buttons remain depressed when clicked. not entirely sure how to do that but i can be able to find how to.

plis/minus another good idea.

Thankyou for your comments :D

Sorry, dont quite understand which lines in the category box. please could you explain a bit more and provide a small screen shot maybe? that way i can help :) Thanks.

I will try my best to do all these great suggestions but not at this moment in time, just gone back to the clients 1st site and gathering all the images/information for the site to put in and making some adjustments to the site. so, the changes for the tradmoorinternation site wont be dont in a while but still be soon.

Thanks.

Hi Sumear,

I like the site, colours, design but most of all...SPEED! Fabulous speed on this site. Each page opens and displays almost instantly. Good job! I agree with most of the suggestions. I thought immediately that the site was not finished. I am assuming it's not as I would hope that there would be at least something to navigate through even without the prices!

I like your category "bars" that seem to drop and rise onclick. Very nice.

You'll need to go over your login text. Spelling and grammar errors.

You can make your top navigation button "stick" when on that page by changing your link.

Here is the current link for "About".

<a href="about.php" onmouseover="image2.src='/catalog/images/aboutbutton_over.gif';"
onmouseout="image2.src='/catalog/images/aboutbutton.gif';">
<img name="image2" src="/catalog/images/aboutbutton.gif"></a>

Change it so that the image 'aboutbutton_over.gif' is the only one displayed. That is, remove the javascript entirely from that one button on the page which it represents. Like:

<a href="about.php"><img src="/catalog/images/aboutbutton_over.gif" border="0"></a>

BTW, this sort of "rollover" can be achieved very easily with css, which is accessible to more people than Javascript.

For your next project I recommend the jcssmenu contribution which STILL works in Firefox with JS disabled. It's a great contrib.

Not much more to comment on. I really don't have the time to log in and all that jazz.

Sheri

P.S. How did you optimize the site to obtain such speed?
