EasyPopulate and Powweb

Recommended Posts

My hosting company, Powweb, does not allow chmod777 to directories via ftp. Is there a way to use easypopulate without a folder called /temp with permissions set at 777?

Powweb also states that I can make a folder and set permissions to 777 if I have a php script do that. Can any of you PHP masters out there be kindly enough to write a simply php script to set my catalog/temp folder permissions to 777 so I can use easypopulate?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Get rid of powweb (I did long ago), move to a normal host, mate. They restrict their customers too much, and IMHO offer a crappy control panel, to save the costs of using the industry standard cPanel (with Fantastico)...

I personally recommend the extremely popular Lunarpages.com, I am a very happy customer of LP, but you may choose any other decent host (search google for top 10 web hosting and/or check out www.webhostingtalk.com)

You shouldn't have to set permissions to 777. Try 755. That should work fine.
