[CONTRIBUTION] CCGV (trad)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Are you refering to this?

CCGV(trad) and the osCommerce Pay Pal IPN Module

An additional file entitled "ccgv_osCommerce Pay Pal IPN Fix.txt" is included. This contains the additional information you need to get CCGV(trad) to work with the osCommerce Pay Pal IPN Module.

I did see that in the updates and well I have an older version of the IPN (PayPal IPN v0.981) in which as a few weeks ago everything was working fine.

But I could not use the fix above because of the older version I have.. is that what you meant and if so then should I just delete the older version and upgrade to a newer version.

Thank you for all your help as it is very much appreciated!

I am having an error when I try to check gv_faq or send a voucher as a customer. Here is the error

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare tep_make_cat_ullist() (previously declared in /home/mikarose/public_html/thesearchenginespecialists/TheModBod/includes/boxes/ul_categories.php:88) in /home/mikarose/public_html/thesearchenginespecialists/TheModBod/includes/boxes/ul_categories.php on line 88

Besides that the voucher works fine. I had to manually edit all the files since i have the point?s module and separate pricing module installed already. If anyone could let me know why I am getting this error I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Brad

Are you refering to this?

yes, i was refering to that... just use a newer version of paypal IPN and test it first. if you back up your files then you won't have any problems if anything goes wrong.

What do you mean it was working fine till a few weeks ago? did it start to go wrong after CCGV was installed?

By the sounds of it, it may not resolve your problem but at least it is a foot in the right direction because you will have the latest paypal ipn version and can apply the fix - then take it from there.

Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back!

Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you?

There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere.

As of a few days ago I have never had the problem before when customers puchased the gift vouchers using the Paypal option as it always worked beautifully - then all of the sudden it seems not to work properly on that end it works great when purchased by check.. I have done no changes to anything since installing this last contribution (ccgc trad) back in June.

I also checked all files using winmerg to compare to see if any changes occured but all looks fine to me..

The paypal ipn I have now does show all the purchase of the gift voucher & all the test I have done to find out what the problem is - so I thought maybe that was not the problem as it is working as it should also..

Anyhow thank you for your quick responce and your help & if you have any other suggestions & or ideas of what could have occered please do let me know..

Much thanks again,

Lexi

Well a least I know now why so many people using the original CCGV come to this thread - someone had uploaded a note to the original CCGV telling people this was the correct version and posting a link to this thread.

A word with one of the mods has corrected that.

hello, well no its still not working when customers pay through the paypal side of it .. I was just saying that it did as of a few weeks ago & trying to say how odd as it does show up in the paypal ipn module I have ( so I figured nothing wrong with that part) - but not in the voucher/ coupon / gift voucher queue. thanks chooch for all your help

You need to use the latest version of the osCommerce Pay Pal IPN, which also contains the instructions to make it work with CCGV(trad). There's no point in continuing to post about this problem while you continue to use the old Pay Pal IPN module.

Additionally, make sure that all Gift Vouchers use GIFT (in upper case) as the first part of the Model Number when they are added to the Catalog. Without this they are not recognised as Gift Vouchers and so are not queued.

Updated Release v1.2

I decided to give this a version number as it's an important upgrade. There are some minor changes for image definitions (contributed by Chris Dunning) but the major upgrade deals with tax on virtual products.

As things stood if a product was virtual, had zero weight, and skipped the shipping page, and was liable for tax, then no tax was applied - because tax was based on the shipping/delivery address (and there was no shipping/delivery address).

In this upgrade if a virtual product is liable for tax and the shipping page is skipped then the address (for tax) becomes the billing address.

An 'Upgrade Only' text file is included for those who only need to upgrade from the last version.

Enclosed is also a pdf document which shows the relationship between the various classes of product. This upgrade fixes a problem which existed from the earliest release of the original CCGV. All credit for this bug fix goes to Terra (Edith Karnitsch).

Thanks, I have made the modifications using the update.txt file and look forward to testing it.

Many thanks as always Vger (and to Terra for her expert vision in finding the fix) :D

I installed everything manually (the release from Sept 8) since I had the IPN module installed over a fresh installation of the M2.2 osc. At first it didn't work at all but then I changed the serachengine safe URL's from true to false and then I could redeem a voucher I sent to myself. But when I add a product to the cart and proceed through checkout I can't anywhere during the process redeem my giftvoucher to use it. It is not in the queue and it shows as redeemed in the coupon admin. Have I forgot to edit any files?

Thanks in advance,

Ellinor

Hi,

I have a similar problem. Everything seems to be working fine, but when I purchase something (after redeeming my test voucher) and go to Checkout, I get a blank page that only says:

1065 - Query was empty

[TEP STOP]

What did I do wrong here???

Thanks for any help! THis is a great contribution and I'd love to be able to use it.

Both of you please go back over the Install more carefully, because it's probably something you've missed.

'Search Engine Safe URL's' should not be used - that's why it says 'still in development' next to them - for the past three years.

Hi,

I have the CCGV(trad) installed and added the welcome coupon for new customers.

I just noticed that the admin side can't differentiate between coupons / customers for the welcome coupons. so they all show as selected and I see details only for the first one. (can't select others)

I think it is because the coupon name is same for all of them, I fixed the coupon name in Admin->configurations to something like 'welcome55'.

Also - I checked the DB in phpMyAdmin - The tables coupon_gv_customer and coupon_gv_queue shows a warning on it saying

PRIMARY and INDEX keys should not both be set for column `customer_id`

could this be a problem?

The tables are as created by the sql that came with the package. no changes.

I'll appreciate any help...

The 'Welcome Coupon' is for all new customers. They all use the same coupon, once, when they register.

If you want to give existing customers a discount then you need to mail it to all customers.

The Primary and Index key thing is nothing to worry about.

Hi Vger,

Everything you wrote with regards to the 'Welcome Coupon' - I already know. I didn't send any welcome coupons manually, these are the ones sent automatically.

But shouldn't the system allow me to track who actually used the Welcome Coupon?

I had about 10 new clients register in last few days, and I also know that my osC emails are frequently filtered

as junk-mail by mailServers (different problem for another forum). That lead me to the need to see which of my new customers actually used their coupon...

As it is now - in Admin I can see information only for the first customer who got this coupon...

All these 10 customers records are now highlighted, they all have same sender (admin), same code, the only shown difference is date sent, and I can't actually track who used their coupon, what is their email, if they did use it - when, etc.

I can't believe that is the way this mode was designed, if it is - its wrong, we need a way to track and manage all coupon issued.

It was designed that way.

A matter of opinion really. This is a major contribution to add to a website and if Coupon Tracking had been a part of it then it would have probably never have gotten off the ground at all.

we need a way to track and manage all coupon issued

Be my guest. Let me know when you've completely recoded the module to be able to do that and I'll see about including it in a future release.

Please remember, this is free software, supported voluntarily. It can't do all things that everyone wants, and if I tried to do that then this version of CCGV would get into the mess that the original version is in.

I'll be working on it since I believe it's important.

When I have something done I'll let you browse through it first, to make sure it's worthy of inclusion without messing things up, before posting it to the world. :)

Gift Vouchers are not sent automatically, and have to be un-queued to be sent out. After you have sent them out they cannot then be deleted, except from the database via phpMyAdmin.

GREAT MOD!! it works perfectly. but is there a way to delete gift vouchers that you have send? or remove credit from their shopping cart?

if you want to allow customers to receive vouchers from you in admin and/or buy them as items and save them in their account/send to their friends - then i can't see the logic of restricting their usage at checkout. i am sure you will have a perfectly good reason that is applicable to your shop but there is a slightly better way achieving your goal...

...maybe you should create coupon codes and add restrictions on which items and before which date they can be redeemed - that way the coupon is useless and valueless after 'x' date as it will expire.

I mean on how to delete the ones that you email out from the mail a voucher. like our shop charges core charges on items. Alot of times people would just rather have shop credit for these items. We have a backend for OSC that we use in shop to charge people for items. lets say this.

A customer comes in and has $50 credit that we gave them. they come in and over the counter buy something for $50. we need an easy way to remove that $50 credit from their shopping cart account.

Presently the only way is via phpMyAdmin, as in my last post.

Or maybe temporary solution: Get contribution

Master Password v1.0 9

Go to the customer?s account and send that credit back to you. Just a suggestion. I've never tried that.

not very ethical to do that and you will have to show a disclaimer stating you have access to customers personal accounts!

the easiest way to achieve your goal is to allow customers internet access at your physical store so that they and you can see the voucher balance and they can 'send' you the 'x' amount using 'gv send'...

... other than that the best way for you is if you could add a function where you can use your admin/customers.php page to see gv balance in admin and then create a new SQL function to delete/add/increase/decrease gv balances - this will take some work!
