vasttech
1. Copy the files 2. Copy the database 3. Edit configure.php files to reflect any new server info (i.e. paths) Also if you have SSL you will need to have the certificate regenerated for the new server as certificates are IP-based. osCommerce Knowledge Base osCommerce Documentation Contributions

I run into a problem once - the database is too big and backup/copy times out or gets corrupded. any workaround? I did it table by table, but it came out with error... Andreas2003
What you mean with "too big" ? Where you get a timeout / in what tool ? Just take your phpmyadmin or whatever your favorite sql tool is and export the DB. Regards Andreas
Jack_mcs
ilia - If you are movng a live shop, you should block your shop while the move is going on or you might lose orders. As for the timeout, you will need to ask your host to upload the database for you, unless you know how to use mysql in a shell or have access to third-party programs that won't time-out.
