Hi there everyone,

Please can you help. I have had a live os-commerce for about a year. Its worked fine until last week. We uploaded another new site but since then the paypal has gone wierd on the 1st site. It accepts customers.. they can add products to the basket and go through check out... but when they move from my site to Paypal the VAT (tax) dissapears! i.e a product in checkout showing ?100 + ?17.50 vat showing a total of ?117.50..... when they go to paypal it requests ?100.00. If they were to choose Nochex or payment in advance the total requested is ?117.50.

Obviously this is a huge problem, paypal have no idea and I have had to take off the paypal option until it is sorted.

I will say that both the sites suffer from the same problems now!!

Please help

Thanks

Martin

Unless you tell which contribution you are using its difficult to say why the bug has come.

There ia a default paypal contribution that comes with oscommerce MS 2.2,

The other is the IPN version developed By osc team and the one developed by devosc.

Please do specify so that the solution can be stated.

total newbie here - and just looking to set up payment options.

Have been reading this log about paypal and vat - the issue might be in the set up of your paypal account - you can turn the VAT option on and off there. (I accidentally turned my VAT option on when I was trading on ebay and charged everyone VAT!!) So if you want VAT added - then have a look at the PAYPAL options - just a thought !

bye.

hi there,

i've just come across the exact same problem - albeit before we even launch the store.

did anyone ever find a fix for this critical issue ..???

cheers ..

I had the same issue with paypal ipn not sending the tax along to paypal. Check out the tax fix in this contribution and see if it helps. Did the trick for me.

hi mindy,

thanks for that. as it happens, already came across this one, just a bit wary of giving it a go! ;) still, guess as long as i back up the original file ..?

otherwise, we're actually running a CRE version of osCommerce, so not sure if that would make any difference ..?

ps re other suggestion, i already switched on TAX in PayPal, only made no difference ..

cheers ..!
