In 2.74 it's on line 72

// **** Quote -> Escape character conversion ****
// If you have extensive html in your descriptions and it's getting mangled on upload, turn this off
// set to 1 = replace quotes with escape characters
// set to 0 = no quote replacement
global $replace_quotes;
$replace_quotes = true;

2.74 (from 26 July 05) works well and I think it handles the attributes that you need.

This contribution is in dire need of someone to take control of development and do a complete rewrite. Someone hardcoded SPPC column names into the latest version making it completely unusable for those with standard stores. PLEASE, don't modify these contributions to work only with your store and then upload them as a new version.

Please use the forums for support! I am happy to help you here, but I am unable to offer free technical support over instant messenger or e-mail.

OK, I tested many times again, with or without quotes, in upload and download, trying to modify the code in easypopulate.php around line 1220 (where quotes are tested) and...

now it works for me!

BUT , how bizarre, I still use the original code.

in Admin, Replace Quotes are on "False"

I'm using EP 2.79

Good luck for everyone! ;)

Irene,

"So I thought I would solve this problem by specifying a TEMP directory thru the EZPopolate function, but can't find it."

You need to go to your server to add the TEMP directory (or folder). EasyPopulate will not have that function. And set the permission of the folder to CHMOD 777.

Moreover, Sessions should be also under Admin -> Configuration as well. I believe you have installed it correctly but having problems with the TEMP folder - It needs to be created before downloading anything.

Hello,

I am new to OS Commerce, I installed EZPopulate and wanted to use EZPopulate Admin function. Only I don't have it in my Admin --> Configuration section. It actually ends with "Sessions" function. I have a feeling that I don't have the right version. Please let me know what should I do. I actually want to specify a TEMP directory since it's constantly giving an error

Warning: fopen(/home/livenatu/public_html/EP_TEMP_DIREP2006Apr20-2109.txt): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/livenatu/public_html/admin/easypopulate.php on line 538

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/livenatu/public_html/admin/easypopulate.php on line 539

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/livenatu/public_html/admin/easypopulate.php on line 540

You can get your file in the Tools/Files under EP_TEMP_DIREPEP2006Apr20-2109.txt

So I thought I would solve this problem by specifying a TEMP directory thru the EZPopolate function, but can't find it.

Thank you for your reply. I did specify TEMP Directory in Pubic_html directory and gave all permission, but it still didn't help. I do have Sessions under Admin -> Configuration with Session Directory set to TMP. I tried to get around the problem and downloaded the used DOWNLOAD_EP_2COMPLETE_EP option, I got the file and changed it and tried to upload it. I checked the database and unfortunately nothing was changed.

Thanks for your help

Irene

Hi, what did you exactly changed in you easypopulate.php file? I tried to remove the codes but I got other errors, and I think there are many of those SQL syntax errors..

looks to me because of this: EP_TEMP_DIR that your configure.php file may not be set properly for your document_root

Thanks for your response.

Can you elaborate please on this. What should I do to make it work?

Thanks

You have to escape your single quotes '. Just replace the single quotes like this: \' and you will not have that problem.

Hi,

1- which EP version are you using ? I read posts that ver.3 and above should not be used. That's why I took the EP 2.79. with functions in admin side now.

2- on the admin side chosse "replace quotes" = False

3- Define precisely your problem; is it on upload or download that quotes are changed for & # 3 4 ?

Choose a product in your catalogue, put " many times inside it description, and download a EP file. Is there still the quotes ?

If yes, Then re-upload this files and go to the product description in your products catalogue to see again if " are still there.

4- Every problem has a solution... ;)

I really really need help with this please :( . I am having problems creating EP files for froogle, and other purposes. It worked fine, right up until about 2 weeks ago. Now I get an Error 500 message, sometimes it works but it's like 1 out of every 50 clicks, and there's a 30 sec delay before I get the error 500. Anyone have a clue what might be causing this? BTW this problem started happeneing after I doubled the ammount of products. Oh and also if I just do the categories export it works fine. So I really don't know if it might have anything to do with time outs or something because the file d/l it is to big or something. Thanks in advance

No products_model field in record. This line was not imported

I read this forum over and over and probally i missed some information. But i do have a problem with easy populate.

I am using EP_v2_72_MS2 and i did everything the exlanation told me. I set the right path to temp with the right permissions.

Downloaden off the products is not a problem. Splitting files is working just great but when i upload a list with files some things are going wrong.

The batch is ending with the line No products_model field in record. This line was not imported

The productsmodel is filled in with unique modelnumbers. like rheroe 0001 rheroe 0002 rheroe 0003 So i dont understand it.

However he does upload something. When i have a look to my catagories it is showing the products which i uploaded. But when i click on them the shop is telling me no products found.

So they are visible in the catagories but not real. You can have a look at my testshop my webshop I know it is a total new install with no changes made. It is only for testing.

how do i solve this problem, or what do you need to help me solve this problem

Hi,

After using Import catalog's file:

I get at the bottom

--------

File uploaded.

Temporary filename: /tmp/phpf4tI0P

User filename: testupload.xls

Size: 20480

--------

But no products are added to the catalog.

The headers I am using in a .xls file are as follows:

v_products_model v_products_name_1 v_products_price v_products_description_1 v_products_weight v_products_image v_products_description_2 v_products_quantity v_categories_name EOREOR

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Thanks for anyone who can offer any help.

edit: using version Easy Populater 2.90.

I want to use Easy Populate with More Pics - is this just a matter of making new columns in excel for the extra images? Or can these 2 contribs not work together?

Hi, I don't know if the headers must be in a particular order. But for me the header order would be :

v_products_model v_products_image v_products_name_1 v_products_description_1 v_products_url_1 v_products_price v_products_weight v_products_quantity v_categories_name_1 EOREOR

Hope this helps.
