I apologize if this has been addressed, but I am having trouble searching through this post to find the information I need. I am having an issue with EP - 2.74 changing the price of some of my larger dollar items. Any of my items over $1000 US seem to get reduced to less than $10. Is there a maximum setting I have missed?

If you have a comparison tool such as WinDiff or Beyond Compare, you can try this.

after you import using EP, export the entire database using phpMyAdmin. Save that file for later.

edit and safe a product, so that your product now appears correctly.

now export the entire database using phpMyAdmin again.

now compare the two exports files from phpMyAdmin with WinDiff and please report the differences here.

That should help me figure-out what is not getting setup correctly in the EP import.

I did it,

Product that was bad when imported is "Verino W 100 ml"

I edited it without making changes and now it works fine.

Now I paste the differences:

>! is for edited one.

looks like you may have made a change in your code somewhere, !> INSERT INTO

search for !> INSERT INTO in your ep file and you should find it.

OK, looks like the important difference is the product_images table entry. what contribution have you installed that adds extra images to your products?

Most likely you will need to make a change to your EP file that creates a "dummy" entry into your products_images table for each imported product.

that's an odd one. you may consider upgrading to 2.76d that I uploaded. can't say I've ever experienced that with the 2.76 versions.

I have Multi images extra by nico contribution.

How could I make this to EP? I'm beguinner with oscommerce and I have no idea about php.

I need the ability of import with EP.

        } else {

This will not make your extra images available in an EP export or import, it will (at most) just fix the problem you are having with inserting new products with EP.

hope that helps

Hey wonder if you guys can help me as you seem experts with Easypopulate!!!

My developer has just installed easypopulate and everytime I click on Download Complete .txt file to edit I get the following error

"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 13616 bytes) in /var/www/vhosts/readymadecanvas.com/httpdocs/shop/admin/easypopulate.php on line 642 "

My store is running on a dedicated server with 512MB RAM and a 80GB hard disk....This can't be the problem can it???

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick replies. Oddly enough, I stumbled upon my solution about an hour ago and was getting ready to share. In my excel file, the price field was being formatted with a comma for the 1000's separator. The comma was causing the import routine to drop the trailing digits and left the value less than $10 dollars. For instance, a price of $2,550.00 was being imported as $2.00.

After reading Mibble's post that thought came to me. always make sure your cells don't have any extra formatting. I've also seen a dollar sign format mess-up the EP import file.

yes, it very well can be. This contribution is not coded well and will, at times, load the entire product catalog in a single SQL query. I've seen this contrib spawn 80Mb+ SQL processes. Depending on the type process you request, EP may also attempt to build the entire ouput file in memory before saving or sending to you as a download. I've seen EP try to build a 50Mb+ in memory with a 8000 product shop. I have added some memory friendly download options in 2.76d that may help. (i.e. the download on-the-fly options)

if you are on a dedicated server you can change the php.ini to allocate more memory to your php scripts.

this is the section you are looking for. Obviously you need to change the memory_limit = 8M setting.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

; Resource Limits ;

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

max_execution_time = 300 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds

max_input_time = 60 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data

memory_limit = 8M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (8MB)

Well I'm back with a strange problem. Now I realize that Easy Populate didn't support multiple languages for categories as it does with attributes and products, but I figured I put them in one language and then go through them and add the rest of the languages once everything is imported.

Well everything has been added and I'm trying to add the additional languages in the newly created categories but nope, it just doesn't save the information. It works with categories created manually before import but these new ones refused to be edited on the language front, only the default language works.

It's possible to code for that, but I don't know of anyone that has. there are many versions of EP that have a variety of contributions included. Look through the list and do some investigating.

Hi Todd,

Really appreciate your help - I did try to upload the Attributes again from my sample Attributes file - still the same error. I'll try a fresh install again and try out other methods just to see if anything else works.

Thanks for the wonderful contribution and continued improvements to EP that has made this such a life saver :)

Actually it's possible, but you need to know your way around phpmyadmin, sql and a little php coding. You shouldn't use the extra fields contribution if you still want to use easypopulate to import and export products, as it would be way too complicated to add the new tables to the Easypopulate file.

What you need to do:

1. Install surfalot's Easypopulate version

2. Go into phpmyadmin and add the fields you need to the products table, or if you need fields with different languages, add them to the products_description table

3. Edit the Easypopulate file and add your new fields wherever occurrences of the corresponding table's fields are. e.g. search for products_description and add your fields from the products_description table, search for e.g. products_weight and add your fields from the products table. Make sure that you go with the same naming scheme that is used for the existing fields in the easypopulate file.

4. To actually show the fields you need to edit the products_info.php file, add the new fields to the sql-query and do an echo with the field e.g. for the already existing products_weigh field:

<?php echo $product_info['products_weight']; ?>

That should just work fine if I haven't overlooked anything :)

Hi Gerret,

Thank you for this wonderful tip! I will give this a try once I have read through this a couple more times and am more confident of coding this in without any errors. It sounds clear enough, really appreciate your help! :)

Ahh yeah, not only does it not handle importing multi-language cats, it also doesn't handle the single language category import correctly in a multi-language shop. this should fix that up so you can edit them after.

					$sql = "INSERT INTO ".TABLE_CATEGORIES_DESCRIPTION."(
						categories_id,
						language_id,
						categories_name
					) VALUES (
						$max_category_id,
						'$epdlanguage_id',
						'$thiscategoryname'
					)";
				$result = tep_db_query($sql);

replace with:

		foreach ($langcode as $key => $lang){
	  if ($epdlanguage_id == $lang['id']) {
				$sql = "INSERT INTO ".TABLE_CATEGORIES_DESCRIPTION."(
						categories_id,
						language_id,
						categories_name
					) VALUES (
						$max_category_id,
						'$epdlanguage_id',
						'$thiscategoryname'
					)";
		} else {
				$sql = "INSERT INTO ".TABLE_CATEGORIES_DESCRIPTION."(
						categories_id,
						language_id,
						categories_name
					) VALUES (
						$max_category_id,
						'".$lang['id']."',
						''
					)";
		}
		tep_db_query($sql);
	}

The new products sections html of this store bough template is not jive to EP. Everything works fine with the OSC stock /includes/modules/new_product.php file, but goes haywire once I upload the html modified file. Could someone take a look @ the code and point out anything that might be causing the layout problem?

Hello, I've installed Three images with admin 1.0 http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...l/search,3image and am trying to get easypopulate to recognize theadditional images to upload and download. I am using Easy Populate 2.76d-MS2 - Default Language : English(1) . I followed this

			// unmcomment these lines if you are running the image mods
		/*
			$query .=		. $v_products_mimage . '", "'
						. $v_products_bimage . '", "'
						. $v_products_subimage1 . '", "'
						. $v_products_bsubimage1 . '", "'
						. $v_products_subimage2 . '", "'
						. $v_products_bsubimage2 . '", "'
						. $v_products_subimage3 . '", "'
						. $v_products_bsubimage3 . '", "'
		*/

here is what it shows in my sql product table for the images

  products_image varchar(64) latin1_swedish_ci Yes NULL Browse distinct values Change Drop Primary Unique Index Fulltext
 products_image_medium varchar(64) latin1_swedish_ci No Browse distinct values Change Drop Primary Unique Index Fulltext
 products_image_large varchar(64) latin1_swedish_ci No Browse distinct values Change Drop Primary Unique Index Fulltext

Changed easypopulate to this but with no success

			// unmcomment these lines if you are running the image mods
		/*
			$query .=		. $v_products_mimage . '", "'
						. $v_products_bimage . '", "'
						. $v_products_image_medium . '", "'
						. $v_products_bimage_medium . '", "'
						. $v_products_image_large . '", "'
						. $v_products_bimage_large . '", "'
						. $v_products_subimage3 . '", "'
						. $v_products_bsubimage3 . '", "'
		*/

If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated
