I have created a database called DB_DATABASE in the root but stiil makes no difference. Should I reinstall or is there another way around. But in the mean time trying to go thru "install" when teh OSCommerce asks for the database name .... which DB I quote because there is one given by the " web host" then there another one created by me!?. demi
Take a look in Contributions. Vger Hi, About the protection there is a programme but installing is a bit confusing, I wonder if you can help on this topic. 1. Open the config.php file and set all of your MySQL settings. 2. Open the admin/config.php file and place those same settings. 3. Upload your files to the server and go to: http://www.yourdomain.com/password_protect/admin/install.php 4. After executing the installer, please be sure to remove the install.php file in the admin directory. 5. You can now login at http://www.yourdomain.com/password_protect/admin with the following information: these files on 1 and 2 are the files in that protection programme or are they the ones in my web site root please let me know. krisz
Hi, I installed osC almost successfully - thanks to this guide :) . I read through all the posts referring to permission problems, but i could not find my solution... maybe you can help me. I use winXP Prof, and i installed osC just to see how it works, the database is on my machine, and everything works fine, except that I get the warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: C:/wamp/www/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. I read several times how to reset the permissions but I still do not know how to do that under xp... I have never used it. Could you pls help me? I am just a user, not a professional. thx Krisz
