I use OSCommerce as online catalog for spare part.

I have about 15,000 items and 200 manufacturers.

To create database, I use Easy Populate (with a little change in php.ini). It works very well. I can update 1,000 item at one time (even the last 1,000 items it take very long time).

However, I have problem because every month, I have to update and remove some product that obsoleted.

Does anyone know how to obsolete huge of products or huge of manufacturers at one time.

Thank you in advance.

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON

I do not use the responsive bootstrap version since i coded my responsive version earlier, but i have bought every 28d of code package to support burts effort and keep this forum alive (albeit more like on life support).

So if you are still here ? What are you waiting for ?!

Find the most frequent unique errors to fix:

grep "PHP" php_error_log.txt | sed "s/^.* PHP/PHP/g" |grep "line" |sort | uniq -c | sort -r > counterrors.txt

I have the same problem as the writer (v) above. I do not know which items I want to delete, only which I want to keep. These items are in an excel database which I use to ez populate each quarter. Must I delete all my items in certain categories, and then update with the keepers? Thanks.

assuming using easy populate you also have the date last updated set for each of the items in your easy populate file,

if that is the case, you can then write a sql script to delete all products that have not been updated since your last easy populate refresh.

eg you update all your files today, so you can delete all products with date of update before today

Is this assumption valid for your case ?

If so, it's pretty easy to write a little php page to facilitate this deletion.

I can start this process by ez populating and changing that date field which has not previously been used. But... I am sql script challenged. Don't know a thing about that. Can you help?

Dear bruyndoncx,

I have installed this contribution, it look good but I still have problem because it take lot of time to search product and remove it. In case this month I have 100 items obsoleted and 50 items add. I have to search one by one.

I am thinking about purge the old catalog (all of items) and add by EP again as you both mentioned above.

To do this, I need your help to explain how to purge all product and manufacturer at one time (without romoving picture).

Anyway, I do thank you for your kind help.

Regards,

[v] :)
