Just download Chemo's original v1.3, upload the Googlesitemap folder to your server, this should fix your problem.

The problem is that you are using a variation mods version, that was moded for those who doesn't use the Ultimate SEA URL.

Hope this help,

Can someone help me - after installation "Google XML Sitemap" I got forbidden message in admin panel in section "Google sitemaps". Page:

/admin/googlesitemap.php

redirects to

/admin/forbiden.php

I have seen that I need to create some xml functions manually, but I do not know what files...

Please, help.

Same problem as many-my files in the root directory are not being overwritten, but the xml files are being created with the "googlesitemap" directory name added. I tried the adding backslash trick and that fixed the name, but moved the xml files inisde the "googlesitemap" directory. I'm sure it's a simple problem-just not as simple as I.

Any help?

i think its taking away the www. at the start .. cause i looked into error 10 it says this :

URL not allowed

Google has detected some URLs that appear to be at a higher level or different domain than the Sitemap file location. If you receive this error, try moving your Sitemap file to a higher location in your site and submitting again. For instance, if your Sitemap is listed under http://www.example.com/mysite/sitemap.xml, the following URLs are not valid for that sitemap

* http://www.example.com/ - it's at a higher level than the Sitemap

* http://www.example.com/yoursite/ - it's in a directory parallel to the Sitemap

You should also check that the urls all begin with the same domain as your Sitemap location. For instance, if your sitemap is listed under http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml, the following URLs are not valid for that sitemap:

* http://www.google.com - it's in the google.com domain rather than the example.com domain

* http://example.com/ - it's missing the initial www

* www.example.com/ - it's missing the protocol (http)

* https://www.example.com/ - it's using a different protocol (https rather than http)

Any URLs in the Sitemap that are not denied are processed normally.

any ideas how to fix

thanks

greg

I think that sitemapindex.xml is the only file you need to submit. It should have links to your others site maps within that file.

Have you looked at the sitemapindex.xml file?

Does it have links to your other sitemaps?

I think that google only accepts urls that end with sitemapindex.xml so the sitemapcategories.xml file would not be accepted.

At least that is my understanding.

You did do a backup? eh?

I have installed Google XML Sitemap Feed - by Chemo and Header Tag Controller. Evrey thing semed to worf fine, until I found one product in Google index. And it was wrong. The Title Tag is missing and only the catalog URL.

Google shows it like this:

------------------------------------------------------------------------

- - BeiLo

Bambushaus Fu?boden Quito / Cuenca f?r 240 x 200cm passend 50,00EUR. [inkl. 16% MwSt zzgl. ... Bambushaus Quito 200 x 240cm Gartenhaus Bambus Einzelt?re ...

www.beilo.de/restposten/ - 31k - Im Cache - ?hnliche Seiten

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

It should look like this:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bambushaus Fu?boden Quito / Cuenca f?r 240 x 200cm passend - BeiLo

Bambushaus Fu?boden Quito / Cuenca f?r 240 x 200cm passend 50,00EUR. [inkl. 16% MwSt zzgl. ... Bambushaus Quito 200 x 240cm Gartenhaus Bambus Einzelt?re ...

www.beilo.de/restposten/product_info.php/cPath/14/products_id/51 - 31k - Im Cache - ?hnliche Seiten

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The link to my sitemap:

http://www.beilo.de/restposten/sitemapproducts.xml

Any idea whats wrong? Is there anywhere an example for an XML file from this contribution, so I can compare the two files?

"Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /usr/local/home/httpd/vhtdocs/domain-name/googlesitemap/sitemap.class.php on line 273

Line 273 in the sitemap.class.php is -

$compress = defined('GOOGLE_SITEMAP_COMPRESS') ? GOOGLE_SITEMAP_COMPRESS : 'false';

I am not a coder and I know I m making a basic mistake somewhere so would appreciate any help to sort this one out.

Can Somepone help?

I installed google sitemap on an oscommerce MS2 version 2 days ago and works fine so i tried installing the same contribution on a previous version of oscommerce. However the files are slightly different so i made the following modifications in sitemaps.index.

From

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG);

require_once(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'filenames.php');

require_once(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'database_tables.php');

require_once(DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS . 'database.php');

require_once(DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS . 'general.php');

To

define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG);

require_once(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'application_top.php');

require_once(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'application_top.php');

require_once(DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS . 'database.php');

require_once(DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS . 'general.php');

Now when i click on HERE in Step 1 in admin it actually works, however the information is as follows.

Generated Google Category Sitemap Successfully

Generated Google Sitemap Index Successfully

CONGRATULATIONS! All files generated successfully.

If you have not already submitted the sitemap index to Google click the link below.

Before you do I HIGHLY recommend that you view the XML files to make sure the data is correct.

http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/...itemapindex.xml

For your convenience here is the CRON command for your site:

php D:\WEBSITE.co.uk\wwwroot/sitemaps.index.php

Here is your sitemap index: http://www.WEBSITE.co.ukDIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOGsitemapindex.xml

Here is your product sitemap: http://www.WEBSITE.co.ukDIR_WS_HTTP_CATALO...mapproducts.xml

Here is your category sitemap: http://www.WEBSITE.co.ukDIR_WS_HTTP_CATALO...pcategories.xml

I cannot figure out why it shows the URLs as http://www.WEBSITE.co.ukDIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOGsitemapindex.xml and not like

http://www.WEBSITE.co.uk/sitemapindex.xml

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks in advance.

The stock: Use Search-Engine Safe URLs (still in development) in store configuration has to be turned off for the xml sitemap to work.

Check your .htaccess file. There are two different sets of rewrite codes one for sites in a directory ie /catalog and one for sites in root. These are both in the instruction files.

thanks, great contrib :)

Was this the contrib that you installed?

Was it straight forward, or did you have to seek out patches and/or look in the support thread to get it working?

Yep, it was this contribution - I installed 'Google XML Sitemap Feed v1.3' (the last one by Chemo) - didn't have to look in the support forum, instructions were very clear - but I haven't submitted to google yet (site isn't live yet, will be done in the next couple of weeks) - hopefully that goes ok too.
