MarcS
Hi In general, the site looks like it is progressing well. 1. Centralise your box with paypal and credit card symbols. It is not lined up with the rest of the column. 2. I don't like your sign in button. It color does not match the rest of the theme. 3.I think your logo could do with a little "zazz" to make it stand out. Possibly make it a little larger and some kind of background graphic to give it more prominance. 4. The black text in the cartridge search box is a bit bland. Rather use a grey or blue color and change the font to verdena or tahoma, which are a little clearer on the internet. Most of your other text could do with a litle quick changing too. 5. The highlight on your home page should be a graphic that attracts the eye of the customer. You have a whole selection of customer quotes. You are lucky to have those before you even open :-" . On screens with low resolution, the only thing the clients will see are the quotes. 6. On the product info pages, the click to enlarge text is way too large. It dominates the page. 7. Your graphics are very fuzzy and the enlarged versions are not good quqlity. I would not buy a product that does not look attractive. 8. I like the "top ten resons to buy from us" It is different. It is nice to see features that are not standard. 9. Your login.php and other pages have not really been worked much. You should change the theme to something a little more personal. 10. The contents of your"whats new?" and your "sign in" boxes are not properly ligned up. 11. Put a link in your logo. Customers are accustomed to clicking on the logo to return to the home page. 12. The site is fixed width, but the bar at the bottom strtches right across the screen. It looks very untidy. You need to put it in a table to match the rest of the site. Thats all for now. I hope my comments are usefull. Mark http://www.durance.fr
ksaun
Thanks for taking the time to review the site  1. Centralise your box with paypal and credit card symbols. It is not lined up with the rest of the column I agree, didn't even notice it. 2. I don't like your sign in button. It color does not match the rest of the theme. Think I'm going to change all the buttons for smaller more stylish ones 3.I think your logo could do with a little "zazz" to make it stand out. Possibly make it a little larger and some kind of background graphic to give it more prominance Yeh I think your right, but I have no design skills as you can tell. Any ideas on what to do? I want the site to look good. 4. The black text in the cartridge search box is a bit bland. Rather use a grey or blue color and change the font to verdena or tahoma, which are a little clearer on the internet. Most of your other text could do with a litle quick changing too. The font is Verdana for the whole site. I tried several different colors before I chose black, none of the other ones looked right. I don't even like the blue I'm using for the products list. 5. The highlight on your home page should be a graphic that attracts the eye of the customer. You have a whole selection of customer quotes. You are lucky to have those before you even open . On screens with low resolution, the only thing the clients will see are the quotes. I agree, but again have very little design skill and all my attempts to spruce the site up make it look like a joke. Any ideas? As far as the reviews go, I have clients through my consulting business that have been very supportive and have been using my site as I have developed it over the past year. 6. On the product info pages, the click to enlarge text is way too large. It dominates the page. Yeh I know but I can't seem to find out how to make it smaller, and idea? 7. Your graphics are very fuzzy and the enlarged versions are not good quqlity. I would not buy a product that does not look attractive. I think I can use a thumbnail contrib to fix the fuzzy part. But the quality of the cartridge pictures are the best I could find, most other sites in my industry don't have any pics at all or use one pic for all products. If you have a solution for this please let me know because I would like it to look as nice as possible 8. I like the "top ten resons to buy from us" It is different. It is nice to see features that are not standard. Thanks, Did all of them make sence and did they give you information that was useful? Did they make you want to buy from me? 9. Your login.php and other pages have not really been worked much. You should change the theme to something a little more personal. Again not a website designer do I wasn't sure what to do with them, any suggestions? 10. The contents of your"whats new?" and your "sign in" boxes are not properly ligned up. Thanks Didn't even notice that. 11. Put a link in your logo. Customers are accustomed to clicking on the logo to return to the home page. I just took the link out, I'll put it back. 12. The site is fixed width, but the bar at the bottom strtches right across the screen. It looks very untidy. You need to put it in a table to match the rest of the site. Yeh, I know. I used the "Center Shop" Contrib version 3.0 followed the directions exactly even reinstalled it twice but I keep getting the footer the full width of the screen. Trying to find a solution for that. Thanks again for reviewing my site, and any help or direction you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I will fix the things I can for now  Loved your site BTW Anyone else have anything to add?? My Favorite Quote from a movie. Question: How do you know women sooo well? Model Name:? Quantity:? I would use : or ? but not both the white banners are created in the box class where a separator is called with this code $info_box_contents[] = array(array('text' => tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '1'))); at the beginning and end of the contents. the DOB_FORMAT_STRING is either missing in your language file or admin definitions, not sure which. I would lose the dates parameters for the search anyway as nobody would use it except you as a store owner. Same with the number of requests, possibly nice info for you but it has no value whatsoever for your customers. It is the same as those meaningless "number of online people" counts that some sites use. Ask yourself, so what ! although I am not a fan of bars that are made to look round by gradients while the rest is flat, I do like the color scheme you have chosen. I would make the button blue a little more like the headers blue. check the right header image of your featured product for may box, it was intended to be white ? I would also change the style of the error message class. that reddish background does not look very good. and limit the amount of feedback listings on your mainpage to 3, more is overkill and pushes the rest of your content too far down. or make it a random 1 listing with an option to see more with a next button or a separate feedback page with all listings or something like that. Jumping Rabbit
I am sorry to say i do not find your shop visually attractive. Problems: - Top bars - Outer background - White spaces in the boxes Function wise, the new "checkout" does not make sense in a site which selles toners...ie. this is products which should attract repeate customers... The loginbox you use is not among the most visually stunning ones, and actually might negate the effect of your changed checkout procedure...... These points are just a start..... The loginbox you use is not among the most visually stunning ones, and actually might negate the effect of your changed checkout procedure...... These points are just a start..... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> First, Thanks for taking the time to look at my site and review it. The outer background I am still working on if you couldn't tell The white space in the boxes I already know about and is on my list Why doesn't my checkout make sense? Please explain. The checkout still has the all functionality as it did before, it just doesn't have the "sign in" page that stops potential buyers in there tracks. And because it still has all the functionality the customers that return will have a login and password. They can either login using the login box located on the right side of all pages, the "My Account" link in the header or sign in when they checkout. I don't see the problem. But if I am overlooking something please tell me  I also don't understand how the login box would negate the changes I made to the checkout? Please explain  What is wrong with the top bars on the site? Please be a little more specific. or even better, offer some suggestions how to make it more appealing. I understand it's not the nicest, most well designed site out there, but I am trying to make it the best I can with the design abitilites I have. Unfortunately my design skills are lacking and I just don't know how to create alot of the graphics and cool edgey designs that everyone else seems to be producing. I do appreciate your honesty, and agree with you that the site needs something to make it stand out more and be more appealing. So, if you could give me a little more direction than just saying "problems" and giving me a list of what you don't like that would help me out alot :P I'm Not afraid of criticism, but if your going to tell me something's wrong with the site, Please tell me why its wrong. Some things like the background and the white boxes are obvious, I understand those comments without further explaination. But the other stuff I could just take it as being your opinion and unless you explain why those things are wrong I'm less likely to understand why the change needs to be made. Please remember that everyone here does not have the same design abilities or experience that you may have with OSC. Thanks again for reviewing my site and I look froward to the explainations of the comments you made  My Favorite Quote from a movie. Question: How do you know women sooo well? Jumping Rabbit
1, Your site would probably benifit from using more "discreet" graphical elements in liu of todays gradient ones..... top bars, infoboxes and so on.... 2. If i were a repeate customer at your site i would not like the fact that i have to click a link on the top of the sign up form to login. Yes i know about the login box on the side, but still.... 3. If you go to such a lengt to mask the fact that you require customers to sign up, is not a login box on the side a blatant advertaizment to the fact that you require an account.... Actually this might make a "member/sign up scitzo" potential customer leave your site before even seeing your newly made checkout procedure...... 4. If you offer consumeral products like you do, would it not be a good idea to offer a subscription option too? Again, this is just the start... ksaun
1, Your site would probably benifit from using more "discreet" graphical elements in liu of todays gradient ones..... top bars, infoboxes and so on.... I made the bars like that to match my company logo and I wanted nice bright colors on my site that stand out. I just didn't want the same look as all the rest of the toner sites ot there. As for color schemes what do you suggest? 2. If i were a repeate customer at your site i would not like the fact that i have to click a link on the top of the sign up form to login. Yes i know about the login box on the side, but still.... I just don't see any other effective solution for getting people past the "Sign In" page. I took it out because I know for a fact it was costing me sales. I put the site out there a few weeks ago just to test my ad campaign. I got alot of hits but nobody bought. Then with no other changes I removed the "Sign In" page and I began to get sales the very same day with alot less hits. On this point lets just agree to disagree  3. If you go to such a lengt to mask the fact that you require customers to sign up, is not a login box on the side a blatant advertaizment to the fact that you require an account.... Actually this might make a "member/sign up scitzo" potential customer leave your site before even seeing your newly made checkout procedure...... I didn't do it to mask the login, I did it to remove an unecessary step from the buying process that made potential clients weary. All the information gathered during the sign in process is exactly the same as any other site that doesn't have customer accounts with the exception of the password. Again we will have to agrre to disagree. 4. If you offer consumeral products like you do, would it not be a good idea to offer a subscription option too? A subscription for what? I don't have a news letter and I don't sell or distribute my clients information so what would a subscription do for me? Again, this is just the start...
