mthierfelder
For some reason, my admin section has stopped asking me for my password when I go to /catalog/admin. I have deleted all the cookies and passwords from my browsers and I still have the problem. This means the site is completely open to the public and that is very bad. What could be causing this? :-" :-" Installed Modules: Dynamenu, InfoBox Admin, Master Products v.1.2, Header Tags Controller, Multiple Products Manager, Quick Edit in Admin, Secure Admin, Ultimate SEO URL's, EZ Secure Order, Easy Populate v.2.76d MS2, AuthorizeNet_AIM, ChangeFinal Breadcrumb Title, FedEx Labels, Fedex Direct 2.06, How Did you Hear 1.5, Login a la Amazon, UPS XML 1.2.4, USPS Labels, USPS Methods API MS2

mthierfelder
What are you using to protect your admin? .htaccess or a password contribution? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just default install, I tried to install .htaccess after I noticed there was no protection at all but for whatever reason it didn't work. I know i'm running on a Linux box with an Apache server so it should, but its not. :( Are there any good contributions that handle this? I thought default install asked for a password and logged you in. ♥Vger
If you have a web hosting control panel, whether it is cPanel, Plesk, or Ensim, then it is likely that you will have a feature there called Password Protection or Directory Protection. Using this feature is the quickest and easiest way to protect your 'admin' folder. Don't forget though to change the name of the folder first and to alter the two references in admin/includes/configure.php from /admin/ to /newname/ Vger
