ironMIKE
http://www.regi-shoes.com/index.php is a relaunched webshop with a modified osc engine. It handles Shoe & Shirt sizes with correct qty checkouts for smooth-shopping-experience ;) feedback is appriciated. I'd be interested in page loading performance from locations outside germany (esp. france & italy). Other feedback & questions welcome. stovenator
Wow, your site looks great! The graphics are very cool. I like the neon green colors alot! Some minor issues: The order button looks chopped off. accessoires is misspelled (although there's an odd mix of languages on the page) The sizetable link is empty, but I'm sure you're working on that. The text that says "bo forum entries yet" should probably be a link to the forum Using Firefox - when I clicked on "Account", all of the buttons shifted on me, and they are not lined up at all (it looks weird). All of the variables for the text on the account page needs to be entered. The button on the Contact Us page that says "Send Enquiry" has a br in the text (and the Q looks to be a different font). Overall the site looks great. Its an awesome theme. -Mark
ironMIKE
Thank you very much for the detailed information you submitted! Im working hard on the english version of the site and missed the login.php definitions completly. that is fixed thanks to you! thank god it had nothing to do with a browser incompatibility (that almost killed me when implementing this theme) The forum is empty in english because i have no idea what to put there for the english native speakers. If you switch to german, you can see entries. http://www.regi-shoes.com/forum_index.php?language=de

FalseDawn
Original colour, which is good, although slighly overpoweringly green IMO Good quality images, which is nice to see. Loading times are very slow. Took 5 or 6 seconds for the login page to appear. Do you need to provide the ability to order up to 199 items in your drop-downs? Personally, I don't buy from anywhere that forces me to create an account, and then asks for irrelevant info like gender and date of birth - it's really none of anybody's business! RyanSmith
Do people actually buy shoes online? Doesn't seem like a product that you would buy from the internet, but maybe that's just me. The sites not bad, but the black text is hard to read against the gree background. RSS coming soon? Just curious as to what your going to add to your RSS feed. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good idea. I have a feeling that in the next year or two everything will be RSS feeds. You may want to hide the best sellers box until you sell more than three shoes. Well, it's not bad, but it's not great. You have some good functionality built in, but I would have to say the overall design needs a bit of a revamp. osCommerce is a great piece of software with wonderful contributions. Spend some time in the contribution area. There are a lot of gems there.
Mediajuggle
Do people actually buy shoes online?? Doesn't seem like a product that you would buy from the internet, but maybe that's just me. You've never heard of Zappos.com???? They're killing the shoe/sneaker business at least here in America with free shipping and no hassle returns. It's really the no hassle returns that have helped to grow their site because people know if the shoes don't fit they can always return them. If he can capture the same kind of loyalty in his country, he should do well. ironMIKE
Do people actually buy shoes online? Online Business is not the main target of regi-shoes, but we sell about 3 to 5 pairs of shoes per day via internet. RSS coming soon? Just curious as to what your going to add to your RSS feed. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good idea. I have a feeling that in the next year or two everything will be RSS feeds. I liked the idea of providing new products & news from my website in a lightweight format that can be read and transformed by the most "simple" devices. Since we sell some sneakers to "fashion addicts" all over the world (ie the micropacer, sold out in less than 24 Hours) i thought it would be cool to keep them informed by all media possible. You may want to hide the best sellers box until you sell more than three shoes. That would be some sort of "censorship". Some products simply don't sell, so why not to show it. Well, it's not bad, but it's not great. You have some good functionality built in, but I would have to say the overall design needs a bit of a revamp. Thank you. The "old" design, which i think is to slow for what I intend regi-shoes to become in the future may be activated here: Regi Shoes "REVAMPED - DSL-T1 ONLY" ZAPPOS.... because people know if the shoes don't fit they can always return them. If he can capture the same kind of loyalty in his country, he should do well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yupp, we offer free returns inside germany and Zappos is exactly the way to do (shoe) business online (in my opinion). Thank you both for your feedback! Could you add a note about loading performance if you reside outside germany? ;) It would be nice if you'd compare it to the "old" template found here: Regi Shoes "REVAMPED - DSL-T1 ONLY"

RyanSmith
It seems to load fine on my machine. I'm in Colorado, USA. I'm shocked that that many shoes get sold. Just curious, how many shoes (what percent) get returned? osCommerce is a great piece of software with wonderful contributions. Spend some time in the contribution area. Just curious, how many shoes (what percent) get returned? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most people that buy a pair of shoes send them back because they don't fit, so they just receive a new pair in the desired size. That rate is quite high ~15% but thats ok, you can send a pair of shoes about 3 times and still earn money (we do no price dumping at all, so there is some room for customer service). About ~8% of orders are returned with money returned to the customer.

ironMIKE
Michael -- The site looks good: very cool design!? :) Have you considered adding the Purchase Without Account contribution? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> thank you! Purchase Without Account It actually has this functionallity, but switched off. It gives more confusion to users than it really helps. (and much more "test" orders) And since we have a live stock (everything bought is removed from visible stock on the page) it would make it easy for "unfriendlies" to "script-kill" the site. People that don't wan't to create an account usually order by phone or direct mail (~5%) or use the "contact_us" form where you can add your shopping carts conents to your request. ironMIKE
Thank you so much for your comments! Your store loaded quite slowly for me but I guess thats the trade off you play, speed or graphics. Could you provide me your geo-location (country) and inet-connection, propably the provider (by PM) so that I can check for peering bottlenecks ? I do like your advanced search feature though!Add ajax to that and it would be even better, I hope you can release the contrib soon (ps in my playing about with it I couldnt find any problems). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank you so much for this point. I've started implementing AJAX today (using http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=1&hl=en as an orientation) and I hope i'll finnish a "technology preview" within the next 2 weeks. I could use AJAX to highlight sections in products descriptions which point to products with similar attributes or NewsArticles which i think would be really cool. ironMIKE
Regis word_index browser now has AJAX Support. You can try it here - you need a Script enabled Browser like IE 5.5+ or Mozilla 1.7x Regi-Shoes Word Indexer & Searchengine - Ajax enabled Type in your search word (slowly ;) for my DBs sake) and the closest matches will appear right of the Inputbox. The heart of it is this RPC -> http://www.regi-shoes.com/ajaxXMLproc.php?...das&language=en As soon as i get my clientside scripting done, i will imlement phrase-support. At the moment only single keywords are supported. Is there a java-scriptor/DHTML-guy out there? I'd like to kind'a drop down the closest matches below the input field as seen here -> http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=1&hl=en Does anyone know if there are any scripts to play around with? I'm really lame at HTML/Javascript so any tipps are apreciated! Another 1-2 Weeks testing and this baby should make it to the contribs.
hubcat
Hmm, got something against Indonesians? ;) Your header says you offer worldwide delivery except Indonesia, but you don't seem to ship to Nigeria (probably wise) or Ethiopia. Perhaps you should change that somewhat - Indonesians might feel picked on. :) Adrienne
ironMIKE
Hmm, got something against Indonesians? ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Indonesia-Quote is a "temporary" measure, at high times we had about 20 false orders from "Indonesians" a day, even though Indonesia is not listed in the countries at sign up. They sign up as Australians, Suomi or Americans and then type "Indonesia" into the Street Adress Field (how smart). The main problem ist the stock reduction because of their large "orders", so some products go to out of stock temporarily because of that false orders. As soon as Indonesia gets it bancrupt banking sector under control I will remove/change the header. Guest
Another 1-2 Weeks testing and this baby should make it to the contribs. hi Mike, Any word on when this might actually make the contribs? I have a client who wants to categorize their shop the way that you would an index in the back of a catalog. Not neccessarily the cat the categories fall, and an alpha index of the products is a bit messy. I was going to create an index based on keywords using a Meta Keyword contribution. I'm not a programmer, but can hack together pieces of code pretty well. Your word_index.php script has a lot of the features I was looking for. Would you mind sending me your current snapshot? I would really appreciate it. FourMat

ksl8313
Dang. And I was trying to kick my shoe habits :( Try advertising, if you already haven't, on niketalk.com. ironMIKE
Great store Mike. I like your customers images gallery. what contribution do you use for this gallery ? Do you use something like STS or basic design pack ? realy great store. The image gallery is a stripped down version of the catalog files. it has the same database structure as the categories/products. the templating system was based on STS with some performance tweaks but will be switched to a faster one developed by myself (you can see it here => New Store )
