Hi there,

I have installed Seach Engine Friendly URL and have also installed information pages unlimited, everything works fine. The only one problem im having is if I put a link in 1 of the information pages, linking back to another page for example contact us. It takes me back to the homepage with the following address:

http://www.mysite.co.uk/catalog/#mce_temp_url%23

It just doesnt seem to like any internal links in the information pages

Is there any suggestions on what can be done it would be very much appreciated

Thanks for your time

I've contacted my host and they will not put Register Globals on.

My whole site is now complaining about the register globals after I added this Contribution.

'Server Requirement Error: register_globals is disabled in your PHP configuration. This can be enabled in your php.ini configuration file or in the .htaccess file in your catalog directory.'

I've looked at the .htaccess file and cant work out what needs to be changed exactly. Can anyone help?

I have seen several posts to this, but no specific answer.

How to resolve the /store/category becomes /store/category.html ????

And in the Install.txt it says

2. Enable cache in the admin (Configuration -> Cache) and make sure you have set it up it is set up correctly (correct path to folder, write permissions, etc..).
I am on a Windows platform (My server and I am the ISP) I have this set to /tmp is this correct?

And this.

3. Set force cookies to True and make sure you have set the correct cookie domain up in includes/configure.php.
An example would help.

Thanks in advance,

Don

Hello,

i installed the script as explained in INSTALL and followed the instructions.

I tripple checked everything, the paths are correct, i see no errors.

At the first look, it works fine, showing nice urls.

But if i click on an Article or Group, it always falls back to the catalog starting page.

I don't get a productlisting for selected categories or article details by clicking on the article at the starting page.

Rewrite engine is enabled and works fine.

I didn't apply any other contribs yet. Its a clean install of OSC 2.2RC1 (ms)

I installed the package which contains all updates, and then i also installed the newer url_rewrite class file.

can you help? what could cause the shop to always go to the starting page?

Thanks in advance,

vizzy

Hi there,

I have a slight problem with the contribution. As some have said already, the contribution is fully working but I can't seem to add items to the cart. At first it said I must enable cookies on my browser (which I know they are already) but after trying for a long time to get that working I disabled cookies.

That solved that problem, but now when I try and add an item to the can't it says, 'Product Not Found'....is there a fix for this?

Many thanks

Mike

I've run the installation and it seems nearly to work. The only issue I have is that, if I go to a category like:

http://www.shopharboursurf.com/T-Shirts.html

The category page runs properly. But if I try to click further on a product like:

http://www.shopharboursurf.com/T-Shirts/Cheater.html

...it does not pull up the product detail page, it only brings up the category page again.

Is this something to do with the mod_rewrite code? There were not instructions on what to put into .htaccess except in the .diff file. Here's what I have:

RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

RewriteRule ^(.*) index.php

Any ideas?

I had this mod up and running perfectly apart from the popups. Managed to fix it by adding the javascript to index.php and turning off my STS templates. Then they worked!

At least I know now that there is a confict with STS templates and this mod.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get my popups still to work when I turn STS on? Other than that it works perfectly.

Something to do with STS looking at its version of product_info.php still instead of index?

Thanks

Eddy

Dear all,

Today I installed sef v1.10 together with the url_rewrite.php update

All seemed to workout well and the url were renamed perfectly. In the end I only had to replace the index.php for the modified index.php

Because my index.php file contains the full layout of my website and some other configurations. With replacing the original index file I lost all these data. My questions therefore is does anyone has the html code written out so that people can manually change the index.php file so they won't loose their configurations?

Hi, I believe you should use a files compare program to compare your original index file and the one that came with the contribution. These programs will show you the 2 files side by side and highlight any differences in them so you can easily detect what you need to change. There are some you can download for free as I have done. The one I use is actually called "Files Compare Tool"

You just copy what you know is different and needed from the contrib file into your original file and upload the changed file. I would also highly recommend saving a backup copy of your original file somewhere that you won't accidentally change it in case the new file doesn't work for some reason and you can't remember how it originally was. Unfortunately, I did this once and it took me a while to get it working.

Post back if you need further assistance.

I am using the SEF contribution on my site with no other contributions.

I have it working for the most part just two problems.

1. The thumbnail for the products links to the product correctly, however, the title links to:

http://www.mysite.com/// << with two slashes at the end.

2. When customers order a product it sends them a link to download it, but then refuses to allow them to download the product.

I have the same problem - just downloaded and installed today.

Also, other pages (I am still building this site) if you hover on any item on the main page, you can see that it has change the page name as it should with the .html at the end, but when you click - the file is not found.

Any help?

Please note: I use a shared hosting therefore I have no access to the server other than FTP and phpAdmin.

http://www.mydomain.com.html instead of http://www.mydomain.com/index.php

Same URL issue here - really need some help getting this sorted out or else I will be forced to remove the contribution because its hurting my business.

All my continue button go to page not found because the link appears as http://www.mydomain.com.html instead of http://www.mydomain.com/index.php

My login page appears as https://www.itsallbeautiful.com/login.php/a...e6c39af040148b7 and also fails to load?

Help!!

Thanks in advance

Eric

Hi there, I am trying to get the "Use search-engine safe urls for all site links" function enabled on my site and it just errors out with all of the links: ex /store/product_info.php/products_id/74

with

"No input file specified."

Is this a common problem? perhaps why it's still in development?

Do I need any special settings in my .htaccess or anything? I am using GoDaddy's shared hosting - are there any horror stories about it with OSCommerce?

Thank you all v. much, I hope you can help me!

Hi Eric,

Not sure on this one, but try checking this. Look to make sure what you have this as: define('FILENAME_DEFAULT', 'index.php');

in your catalog/includes/filenames.php file. It would appear that you may have it as define('FILENAME_DEFAULT', 'html'); in error.

Check that and see what you find.

Hope this helps.

Leslie

Nope that has never changed - its correct.

I suspect its either something I missed when implementing friendly URL search or a bug of some kind. It appears that the rewrite logic is not paying attention to some cases.

Try it out at http://itsallbeautiful.com - create an account - then logoff (error) and then logon (error) Its really the continue button nearly ever where that is the problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Eric

I have the same error:

1. The header logo and main link to the homepage both have a .html while they shouldn't... Isn't there any htaccess code to let this work?

2. My second problem is this:

When I add a product, the URL of this product will have two slashes (/) instead of one. Example:

http://www.oscommercesite.com/shop//w453434.html

How can this be fixed?

Update:

3. I have made a new category and new product. The new product now has a correct URL without two slashes, but when I click on the new category I'm redirected to the homepage, not to a list of the products inside this category! How can this be fixed?

Is your oscommerce in the main root directory or under it? There was different instructions as to which way yours is set up for the htaccess file.

STEP #6 - Edit .htaccess file (in your catalog directory)

If you don't have an .htaccess file in your catalog directory create one.

If your store is located in a DIRECTORY add this to the /*directory*/.htaccess file:

NOTE: you will have to edit the "directory" to match your directory name!

Options +FollowSymLinks

RewriteEngine On

RewriteBase /directory/

RewriteRule ^(.*)-p-(.*).html$ product_info.php?products_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-c-(.*).html$ index.php?cPath=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-m-(.*).html$ index.php?manufacturers_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-pi-(.*).html$ popup_image.php?pID=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-t-(.*).html$ articles.php?tPath=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-a-(.*).html$ article_info.php?articles_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-pr-(.*).html$ product_reviews.php?products_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-pri-(.*).html$ product_reviews_info.php?products_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-i-(.*).html$ information.php?info_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

If your store is located in the root add this to the /.htaccess file:

Options +FollowSymLinks

RewriteEngine On

RewriteBase /

RewriteRule ^(.*)-p-(.*).html$ product_info.php?products_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-c-(.*).html$ index.php?cPath=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-m-(.*).html$ index.php?manufacturers_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-pi-(.*).html$ popup_image.php?pID=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-t-(.*).html$ articles.php?tPath=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-a-(.*).html$ article_info.php?articles_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-pr-(.*).html$ product_reviews.php?products_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-pri-(.*).html$ product_reviews_info.php?products_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-i-(.*).html$ information.php?info_id=$2&%{QUERY_STRING}

RewriteRule ^(.*)-links-(.*).html$ links.php?lPath=$2&%{QUERY_STRIN
