Rob, the flash intro is nice, but the store is pretty much out of the box.

You should try to duplcate your flash intro in style etc... :)

Try the STS template contribution, it rocks for layout.

as already said .. shop is out of the box .. only logo is changed, but it doesn't fit into this design ... images "New products ..." have white background on light silver table .. play around with images background in photoshop.

and get any free template for Oscommerce .. just to get rid of deafult .. there is like .. 20.000 shops with default design :)

Hey Rob....I'd totally redo the home page. Maybe use the information that's there now in the faq....if you're trying to convince someone to purchase your services, show off your video/audio skills on the home page, don't just use text to describe.

There's a good market out there for conversions now, at least until prices come down for the standalone machines.

i would love to be able to show what kind of stuff i can provide, but the files are huge and i only have about 500 megs of storage space for the website, but i will see if i can compress a preview file to show a basic intro.

thanks for the idea

i changed the basic colors to match the banner, but i will need to change the actuall store buttons when i get home from work since using photoshop via VNC sucks

I'd remove the "This product was added to our catalog on" from the product pages. It makes a store look "too new", and people might be wary about buying from you.

I'd also remove the border from around the PayPal Verified logo; there's no reason for it.

On your FAQ page, you've missed a space between "a" and "black". It says "ablack case" right now. ^_^

If you've only got one Manufacturer (you), you may as well remove the "Manufacturers" infobox, unless you're planning on adding additional manufacturers.

try this free site for osC buttons: http://oscommerce-buttons.org/

that simple change of the basic color (gray) to match the logo did make a definite difference.....as far as my earlier comment about the homepage, i really meant to just show off general skills with images (my error saying 'video/audio')....make it more visual than textual.

For your type of store...I'd make it not look anything like a e-commerce store. I understand that you want a lot of the e-commerce features provided by OSC...but you really have to make it look like you are a DVD Conversion specialist.

I'd recommend a custom flash/html index page of your company and with short teaser about each category of services: DVD conversion and Photo conversion. When you click on the icon for the category you are then given a choice of various options and when you click on the picture or link to the service option...it should automatically add to the cart.

I'd include the reviews to be listed in each service page (not as another page on its own) which can be used as customer testimonials.

As much as I love OSC...I don't think its well suited for your type of business without doing some significant tweaking.

I ♥ PHP/MYSQL/CSS

A pointless Flash Intro, followed by a very standard looking Store.

Liven up your Store by giving it it's own look rather than use the osCommerce copyrighted theme - you have removed the copyright (I am not sure if you have made enough changes from the original layout to legally do this).

What's with all the banners at the bottom of the pages? Are you selling their goods & services or yours?

stock and slow to load - bacause of a lack of decent thumbs. I agree with an earlier comment about not using osC to do this. It's a bit like teaching a pig to skip, you might be able to but will it ever look any good?

It is much better than it was, but you will need to sort out the horizontal scroll.

i don't understand, whats wrong with it? maybe it's because of the resolution and size monitor i am using but i only need to scroll 2-3 times to get to the bottom of the screen

*edit* didn't realize u said horizontal, but on my screen there is no horizontal scrolling

it was set for a width size of 1024

A lot of people still use 800x600, so you'll need to change the width.
