Strange shippingcosts while table rate in grams

Recommended Posts

Dear helper,

This problem takes more than a day now. I am trying to configure the weight table rate shipping but somehow the strangest outcome appears.

When I do a test order of a product weighing 350.00 (grams) the webshop says that I need to pay 39.00 EUR of shipping costs while I thought it would be (and has to be) only 5.50. A test order of 200 leads to 15.00 EUR... :'(

I am using the following settings:

--------------------------------------------------

Enable Table Method

True

Shipping Table

25:1.50,50:3.00,250:5.50,500:9.00

Table Method

weight

Handling Fee

0

Tax Class

-- Kies --

Shipping Zone

-- Kies --

Sort Order

0

-----------------------------------------------------

Is there a problem when using grams? Do I need to set it somewhere? Hope you can help me!!!

I want the shipping costs to be like this:

0 to 50 grams: 1.50 EUR

50 to 250 grams: 3.00 EUR

250 to 500 grams: 5.50 EUR

over 500: 9.00 EUR

I am feeling so stupid! Please help me out! Many thanks from the Netherlands.

OK, first of all 350 grams is 0.35 not 350.00 that would be 350 kilo's!

Also in your admin go to configuration and then shipping. Oscommerce comes standard with 3 kilo's of tare weight. Just change it to 0. And any other settings in there. Check if they are the way you want.

You will also have to adjust your shipping rates to 0.25:1.50, etc

See if that works better.

Dear Giovanna,

Thank you so much for helping me out - it works now! But, since I already have hundreds of products in my catalog, it is better to have all of the weights (consistant) in 'grams' instead of changing them all to kilo's.

I have tested it and it works fine as far as I can see. Do you forsee any problems doing that?

Thanks again, - Hanjo.
