newid
Well, it's been a while since using osc with paypal. I had trouble getting the loaded snapshot to work with it about a year or so ago, and started using 2checkout. Things have changed over at paypal since then. First, they no longer require you to "register" to place an order with a vendor. And secondly, I recall getting something from them announcing that they had gotten around the whole "not clicking the continue button" thing. Apparently, they now have some sort of autofowarder that will take the user on through that page. Has anyone found that using this negates the need for the paypal IPN? go2pub
Autoreturn is working fine for me, however I did read somewhere that there's a security issue with using autoreturn, but I haven't figured it out yet ????
DerekTheMacGuy
Through Merchant Tools at my PayPal account I set up Auto Return to http://mystore.com/shoppingcart/checkout_success.php In this same area of at my PayPal account I turned Payment Data Transfer option on and PayPal Account Optional option on. From what I have been reading on this osCommerce forum this is the correct set-up but every time I try a test run, the return to merchant button in PayPal takes me to http://mystore.com/shoppingcart/index.php and not checkout_success.php In other words the customer order is not getting logged into my data base so that I am unable to determine what the customer ordered. If someone could please help or is having a similar problem I would greatly appreciate the feedback. Thanks in advance, Derek :D
raskal
Im having this same problem, is it a matter of the customer just not clicking continue? If so does IPN solve this? Thanks! Travis TunerRevolution.com
DerekTheMacGuy
I am back and I got the dad-burn thing working. Through Merchant Tools at my PayPal account I set up Auto Return to http://mystore.com/shoppingcart/checkout_success.php In this same area at my PayPal account I turned Payment Data Transfer option off and . PayPal Account Optional option off. This is the correct set-up , but only for getting order info to osCommerce admin. Also at paypal in the same area of merchant tools they added to new features I have them off and my site is functioning. Try it you'll like it.:) http://www.squindo.net
