  1. I have just had a website removed from google shopping for shipping policy violations (the shipping of the product on the website did not match those set up in the shipping tables on google) This was an oversight on my part as I updated the shipping on the site but not on google......... BUT: I have sorted out the tables, but the man who phoned from google will not reinstate the site to shopping until the following is completed: 1) The cheapest shipping option MUST be displayed on the product listing page 2) The cheapest combined shipping must be displayed on the shopping cart page to visitors before they register or commit to buy via paypall express. Needless to say this is not such a simple task......
  2. Just had a run of intresting emails from google, Looks like they are like the new EdgeBS stores , was well worth the effort moving over. Mobile-first indexing enabled for http://*****.co.uk To owner of http://******.co.uk/, This means that you may see more traffic in your logs from Googlebot Smartphone. You may also see that snippets in Google Search results are now generated from the mobile version of your content. Background: Mobile-first indexing means that Googlebot will now use the mobile version of your site for indexing and ranking, to better help our (primarily mobile) users find what they're looking for. Google’s crawling, indexing, and ranking systems have historically used the desktop version of your site's content, which can cause issues for mobile searchers when the desktop version differs from the mobile version. Our analysis indicates that the mobile and desktop versions of your site are comparable.
  3. While I was using the display tool in Adwords for different search terms I stumbled on this snippet. It's a pretty specific term that I show up like this, but Webmaster tools, shows high up on my list of terms bringing traffic for the last 28 days. Wish Google would show it for more, but I'll take what I can get. Mine is the snippet for Dried Flowers "R" Us. This is an organic listing, not cpc.
  4. I was reading an article about Google's ranking factor called Rankbrain. From what I gathered, it uses user intent and artificial intelligence to rank pages. The article demonstrates how simply changing a search can really shift the results. It is suggested that Rankbrain is one of the top 3 ranking factors along with links and content. @Jack_mcs your HT SEO module has help us a lot. How can we use your module to achieve better rankings based on Rankbrain? 5. Hello, I ran across an article that shows recent online shopping statistics. While most of the data we're aware of but do we really understand it and apply it to our own shops? The piece that stood out to me were the top reasons customers abandon carts. Shop owners have little control over the top and bottom reasons. Or do we? For the top reason, retailers have to base shipping costs based on what they pay. I remember @burt touching on the subject of a one-page checkout in a thread he started. Burt has taken out some checkout steps in his EDGE edition. Also, @Mort-lemur taunting success with Recover Cart Sales. We all can agree that once we get the customer in the checkout funnel, we want them feel reassured and experiencing a comfortable and seamless process. Is it time for a new one-page checkout process for BS EDGE? What can we do to keep the customer's attention throughout checkout? Let's discuss! Attention @raiwa @Tsimi @frankl @MrPhil @LeeFoster @Dan Cole and whomever wants to participate.
  6. Hello, Has anyone ever applied the queries data in the Search Analytics section of Google Search Console (GSC)? I'm unsure as to which direction to go. I want to use this data to increase impressions and click-through. Also, to build better meta descriptions to be more compelling in the serps. I'm using @Jack_mcs Header Tags SEO addon and would like to plug this info in the right places. I have attached a screenshot of some queries. Thanks for your time!
  7. Google customer reviews and seller ratings used to be just for Certified Stores. Now they are being rolled out to all Google merchants. This addon presents customers with an opt-in form on checkout_success. Google follows up after delivery to ask for a review of the transaction. Once you have collected enough reviews, you can show a badge with your seller rating. Most of the addon is in a header_tags module suitable for use in several osCommerce versions. This supports the opt-in and showing the seller rating badge as an overlay. You can choose on which pages the badge is displayed. A content module for osc 2.3.4BS in other positions on the page is also provided. The addon is also provided in a branch of Edge on github: https://github.com/BrockleyJohn/Responsive-osCommerce/tree/google_customer_reviews Download link to follow
  8. This a light-weight add-on for Google AdWords dynamic remarketing tag. Dynamic remarketing lets you reach your past site visitors with ads that show the specific products people viewed on your site. Once you've set up your dynamic remarketing campaign, you'll need to add the dynamic remarketing tag, including custom parameters, to your site so your lists can start working. 11. Google Checkout + MVS

Hello, Has anyone been able to get Google Checkout working with MVS (Multi-Vendor Shipping) reliably? The 3 second timeout required by Google to provide shipping rates seems to make this quite challenging to work reliably when quoting from many vendors as it can take over 3 seconds to get that number of responses from UPS + FedEx + USPS. We setup some code to cache shipping rates from the rate providers so it will generally always work after the page is F5'd but Google defaults to the standard provided rates in almost all cases on the initial page load. Is anyone aware of a method to allow GoogleCheckout to work properly with MVS? Thanks
