  1. Hi, and pardon my inexperience, please. Is there a way to remove a product from a category after it has been assigned to multiple categories? See the attached screenshot. I want to remove the categories circled in red. I searched high and low but couldn't find a way to do this. Thank you in advance for helping.
  2. Support thread for the "Category New Products Carousel (stand alone version) for osC 2.3.4 bootstrap" add-on module. Report problems here. Feedback and comments appreciated. Download link: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9445 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PREREQUISITES: osCommerce versions 2.3.4 bootstrap "Modular Front Page" is NOT required for this stand alone version. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This add-on adds a carousel/sliding version of the "New Products" module to the front page and category pages. Use it to replace the current "New Products" module. Module is installed as a new separate module, so that it doesn't over-write any existing modules. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- This add-on relies on jQuery Owl Carousel v1.3.3 for carousel sliding effects. More information can be found here "http://owlgraphic.com/owlcarousel/". jQuery Owl Carousel is included with this package and is installed separately as a heater_tag module. jQuery Owl Carousel handles responsive carousels a lot better than Bootstrap carousel version. It automatically adjusts the number of items inside the carousel according to the viewport size. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3. Hi There Just looking for an opinion My website about to go live will have view_all as the canonical, to me it makes sense that the XML sitemap would list the view_all page rather than just the standard 1st page, what do other people do ie. cat page has canonical of <link rel="canonical" href="https://www.domain.com/mycatpage-c-1.html?view=all" /> So i think the xml site map should list list www.domain.com/mycatpage-c-1.html?view=all rather than the first page address which is www.domain.com/mycatpage-c-1.html But like any other part of SEO there always a doubt at the back of my mind, any opinions would be welcomed Kindest regards David
  4. Support thread for the "Modular Category Page for osC 2.3.4 bootstrap" add-on. Report problems here. Feedback and comments appreciated. Download link: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9448 This add-on modularises "top level/nested" category pages by replacing current content with separate modules. Use it to replace the current "top level/nested" category content so as to enable easy install of future category modules, that either have enhancements to current category content or to add modules with new features. It works similar to kymation's "Modular Front Page Module". Modules are installed as new separate modules for each section of content that normally appears in "top level/nested" category pages. It includes Category Name, Message Stack, Category Description, Category Images and New Products as well as Upcoming Products (new) where the content displayed is targeted to that particular category and its subcategories. NOTE: "top level/nested" categories are categories that contain no products themselves but have sub-categories with products, and the "Sub-Categories" and the "New Products" (for the sub-categories) currently appear. If a "top level" category itself contains products (with or without sub-categories), then the contents of these modules will not appear. This is currently standard osCommerce behaviour of the existing category pages. This separate add-on "Category New Products Carousel (bootstrap)" http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9445 can display on all category pages. Future versions of other modules may also do this. FYI: The content modules in this add-on use this folder structure "modules/content/category".
  5. Support thread for the "Category Popular Products Carousel for osC 2.3.4 bootstrap" add-on. Report problems here. Feedback and comments appreciated. Download link: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9450 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PREREQUISITES: osCommerce versions 2.3.4 bootstrap Can be used with the "Modular Category Page" add-on http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9448 or as a stand alone add-on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This add-on adds a carousel/sliding "Popular Products" module to the category pages and can be added to the front page. Ability to highlight hot selling items. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6. I currently use this add-on to keep the categories box expanded. (osC version 2.3.3.4) http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8384 This is my setup and so far everything works fine "except" for the Top Level link. Top Level ------------------ - Sub Level 1 ------------------ - Sub Level 2 ------------------ - Sub Level 3 ------------------ - Sub Level 4 ------------------ - Sub Level 5 ------------------ - Sub Level 6 ------------------ At beginning when i load the shop page for the first time i can click on any link, starting at Top Level or Sub Level and the page loads that category page. Now, let's say, I click directly Sub Level 4 but then click on "Top Level" the link is dead. It doesn't bring me back to the Top Level page. But if i load/enter the Shop page for the first time or if i visit the contact us page (or any other "non" category page) and then click on "Top Level" it works. I can also go from one Sub Level to the other without trouble, only the Top Level doesn't seem to work properly. I attached my current bm_categories.php file I would appreciate if someone could take a look and help out. Thanks!
  7. Hey guys and gals, Need some help on finding a module that allows you to change the price on categories instead of having to change on each item. If there is a module like that out there can someone please let me know. Has to be pretty easy to install as I don't have a very good knowledge of installs on OsCommerce. Also were do I go to ask people to install specific modules on my website? Thanks in advance for your help.
  8. My problem: I'm from South Africa and on my site we make use of the South African Post Office to ship the items. I have a number of various categories each with products but where the weight differs between items of the various categories. There are even electronic items which is to be downloaded and where there is no shipping cost. As an example: The one categery is aromatic candles and these weigh approx 250g per candle. Another category is CD's and DVD's where the items weight approx 100 g each. With the Post Offcie there is a specific rate for parcels up to 1kg which means that with candles you can ship up to 4 units per parcel. With the CD's that becomes up to 10 units. With the rate tale facility I cannot allocated different table rates to each category, or I cannot see how to do it. To compound the problem. When items has to be shipped outside of South Africa then international carriers come into play such as UPS or DHL. This is another solution which I'm looking at. Is there a way to get around this in a simple way? I have thought about a solution as it would be nice to have more than one Table Rate available, but it seems as if I can only activate one module of a kind. Any ideas please.
