  1. How do you add new boxes to left navigtion? been looking for an hour. Using version Do I have to build an addon just to have an extra box anywhere?
  2. Hi, I always like to collapse... things. So let's say we have two boxes on the left: categories and information. I want categories to be collapsed when browsing through my info pages and the other way around. First thing to do your catalog/includes/modules/boxes/example.php add global $PHP_SELF to function execute - example: function execute() { global $oscTemplate, $languages_id, $cPath_array, $datas, $PHP_SELF; Then you'd have to alter the correspondent template file in e.g. catalog/includes/modules/boxes/templates/example.php <div class="panel panel-default"> <?php if (basename($PHP_SELF) != 'example.php') { //This collapses example if not on example.php the logic can be used the other way around if (basename($PHP_SELF) == 'some_other.php') // collapes if not on defined other some_other.php || even_another.php and so on.. ?> <div class="panel-heading" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#example" aria-expanded="false" aria-controls="example"><span role="button"><?php echo MODULE_BOXES_EXAMPLE_BOX_TITLE; ?></span></div> <div class="panel-body collapse" id="example"> <?php echo $datas; ?></div> <?php } else { ?> <div class="panel-heading gradient"><?php echo MODULE_BOXES_EXAMPLE_BOX_TITLE; ?></div> <div class="panel-body ContentBody"><?php echo $datas; ?></div> <?php } ?> </div> "example" should be exchanged then for the actual box files that should collapse or not. Best regards Christoph
  3. I could not find any posts on this using search so I will create a new post. admin -> modules -> boxes Currently the way in which the order one places the boxes on the store can be troublesome. Although sort order is effective if you understand how to use it right, you are penalized by having duplicate items with the same number. 1. add a "sort by" function to the headings. If one clicks on Modules in the heading it will sort the list of box names according to A-Z and then with a second click Z-A. If one clicks on the sort order it will sort the numbers ascending from 1..N and second click descending from N..1. In this way at least one can check if they have 2 boxes with the same number by clicking on "Sort Order" 2. Create a graphical layout and allow drag dropping components from one area to the other instead of having to deal with numbers. Allow any placement with "jump to guide/grid" 2.a. An alternative might be to have columns (left, right) and a add item dialogue button that allows you to add the box modules under that side. The order in which the box module name appears in the list is how it will appear in the store. With jQuery this might be made easier as drag drop should be able to allow moving then to change their order. I believe word press admin has a functional example of this technology. -Blue Penguin
  4. I have moved the greetings messages to a box that uses the temmplate. For doing that, I had to define a new location for adding, removing or modifying new boxes on the front page and categories pages without touching the index code. It also cleans up a couple of language files and general.php by adding the texts and functions to the boxes. Doing that, I noticed for now there are 'placeholders' defined for header, footer, porducts page, left and right column, but not for other pages, so I addded a 'boxes_main_page' placeholder into the front page. Then I started moving new and incoming products modules to a box and found a problem: You can't associate a box to two placeholders at a time so I can't define a module that shows in frot page and categories page at the same time. This is logical for moddules that shows in columns but not for those into the body of the pages. I figure it can be done reading $PHP_SELF in the box and adding the logic into it, but then the code of the box itself will be more complex, and ordering the boxes would be difficult too because we mix positions. Also that method can not differentiate front page and categories pages (never understood why they are in the same file). Any opinions/suggestions?

  6. Hi, I installed the French language pack and the Boxes configuration reverts to default when I switch to the second language (French). I am installing v2.3.3 and migrating changes from a 2.2a site. Most of the French content works (most is still from the module installation). The box content displays correctly, but the left/right configuration and the boxes displayed and sort order appear to be the system defaults. When installing the French module as an unzip from catalog, I chose not to overwrite as I did not want to have administrative functions in French. I even tried switching the language to French, going to the admin page and re-writing the boxes configuration, but no change. Searched all over the forums, but have not found the solution. Your help is greatly appreciated!
