  1. Who see these errors? Who see where and when used this function? function tep_db_close($link = 'db_link') { global $$link; return mysqli_close($$link); } My guess they are in nexus. The problem is a blank page or mysql error message in browser. This is an everyday problem and tihs brothers me.
  2. I've been building some new interfaces on my shop, and have realized that I would like to use mysqli_fetch_all, so I added it into my database.php. It might be a useful function to have in osC. Just a proposal. function tep_db_fetch_all($db_query) { return mysqli_fetch_all($db_query, MYSQLI_ASSOC); }
  3. MySQLi Prepared Statement Automator This Add-On comes with the only guarantee of possibly causing you a lot of headaches. It looks like it's working quite well, but further testing is required ... - Support Thread - http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9076
  4. Hi all, I have collected here the most critical new mySqli usage and issues for addon edits recommendation. 1. Different return values from tep_db_query() mysql return false or result mysqli return result object or false Would be better to control the result before do anything: if (tep_db_num_rows("query string") > 0) { //than do something } Try avoid examination on result directly: $result = tep_db_query("query string"); if ($result = 'something') 2. some construction problem may close the mysql connection so a similar error messages found: possible issues - non oscommerce standard redirection Note: when PHP script is finished the database connection automatic closed. 3. hard coded mysql database PHP usage After the updates hardly recommended to use mysqli core built in functions. PHP 5.4 store deprecated errors. mysql_query PHP functions will not be supported in PHP 5.5 version. Other tips are welcome! Best Regards, Gergely
  5. Native MySQL extension is slightly faster than the improved MySQLi extension, but the latest more stable and have more features. This addon simply replicate the default database function, so you don't have to worry that you need to edit many files. The installation process as easy as uploading a file (database_mysqli.php) and edit one line in application.top.php. As a bonus, this addon add new tep_db_multi_query function (see: mysqli.multi-query.php), so now you can make multi query in one call. Sample of using "tep_db_multi_query" can be found in the archive. Download it here: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8168 Best, @zaenal
