  1. Alright, so I'm attempting to just add a CSS class to a selected category link. I'm trying to get more familiar with the category tree (category_tree.php) and the only thing I've found that controls the selected output is the following: $OSCOM_CategoryTree->setCategoryPath($cPath, '<strong>', '</strong>'); This, of course, just bolds the current selected category. However, I'm just looking to do something similar to this (see the "CUSTOM_CSS_CLASS"): <a class="list-group-item list-group-item-action CUSTOM_CSS_CLASS" href="http://mywebsite.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=3"><strong>Electronics</strong></a> Is there a way to achieve this with any of the available functions within category tree?
  2. It seems like every other question posted nowadays is about how to upgrade an older version of oscommerce and the op usually references the official version. This post is meant to provide a quick reference for how to convert an older shop to the current, recommended, one. First, the version that should be used is commonly called the Bootstrap, BS or Responsive version. It can be located here. One should not use the official version. The official version can be installed via the hosts control panel so it is easy to think that is the one to use - it is not. Since the BS version is not directly compatible with other versions, the following steps will be needed: Install the BS version into a new location Convert the database. See this thread for help with that. Install whatever addons the site needs. You need to be sure the addon will work with the BS version. This thread mentions specific ones but there are many others that will work. If in doubt, ask in the support thread for the addon in question. If you intend to use paypal, then install the Paypal App. At this point you should have a working shop. Test it thoroughly, especially the payment and shipping modules, before going live with it. When you are ready to go live, Mark your current shop as down for maintenance ( a simple index.html file is fine for this purpose ). Make a backup of the current shops database and files. Convert the database to the BS version. Replace all of the files with the new shops files. Edit the configure files so they work as the live shop. Remove the blocking page. If everything has gone correctly, the conversion should be complete.

    Easier Attributes

    This addon is meant as a replacement for the Product Attributes section in admin, for any version of oscommerce. The main advantages of it are: Ability to add/edit/delete attributes quickly (very quickly). A multi-select list that allows adding attributes to many products at once. Ability to search attributes. For those of you with a large number of attributes, you will probably be amazed at how quickly this responds when compared to the existing attributes code. Please note that all of the sections are not completed. The basic attributes and search code is complete, I think, and the Options code is close to complete, if not complete. But the Values and Settings sections still need to be worked on. The old attributes section, or any addon for attributes that is installed, will still function so these unfinished parts won't cause any problems. I wanted to get it uploaded as it is now to start getting feedback on it to better know what to work on. So if anyone tries it, please let me know of any problems, suggestions or questions.
  5. For all who are looking to change their gallery in 2.3.4.1 CE I would definitely suggest this add-on by @wHiTeHaT https://apps.oscommerce.com/6V87X&amp;bs-slick-image-gallery The formatting is clean and orderly... very nicely done! I do have a question I hope someone can help with... How do I change this add-on so it Does Not display the "main image"... This way it would only display the "Large Images" as the standard gallery does by default in 2.3.4.1 CE? I know changes need to be made in: /includes/modules/content/product_info/cm_pi_slick.php I am just not having any luck with this change... Thank you in advance for your help!

    Horizontal Megamenu

    This Addon adds a horizontal menu bar in the header of every store page. This menu bar contains the names of each of your top-level categories. When a customer clicks on a category name, a Megamenu expands below the menu bar. This Megamenu contains a category image and name for each of the top-level category's subcategories, or the top-level category image and name and a list of links to the products in that category if there are no subcategories. The Addon code is available here.

  11. I have an old version of osCommerce (2.3.4) I'm going through the process of getting familiar with the CE version of osCommerce (the Bootstrap 4 version). Overall, I'm trying to find the best way to customize things without touching the core...too much. Let's say I wanted to do a few simple things: - Add an ad banner or two to the home/index.php page - Add a custom div to the product_info page Would a module or a hook even be appropriate for setting these up? I guess, I'm not sure as to when I should use either a hook or module. I could be wrong but creating a module for this seems like way too much work. However, looking at the hook system, this looks like it would be simpler. Am I wrong in that assumption?

  14. Support Thread for "Index Nested - Product Listing" for osCommerce 2.3.4 (bootstrap) Report problems here. Feedback and comments appreciated. Download link: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9514 Easy module install. (minor core change required using hooks) This module applies to categories containing sub-categories (i.e. index -> nested), where currently only the sub-Category Listing and New Products module appear. Use this module when you would also like to list all-at-once the products within the sub-categories of the current category, therefore becoming a nested product listing (default behaviour is that no product listing appears in nested categories). Demo (scroll down to see nested product listing): http://www.auzcommerce.com.au/osc234bs_test/index.php?cPath=3 cheers

More information can be found here "http://owlgraphic.com/owlcarousel/". jQuery Owl Carousel is included with this package and is installed separately as a heater_tag module. jQuery Owl Carousel handles responsive carousels a lot better than Bootstrap carousel version. It automatically adjusts the number of items inside the carousel according to the viewport size. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20. The following code snippets will extend the categories class as found in the osCommerce to Bootstrap community build. Please note it only works on this version as no other version is using this category class (in production). Its up to you where you place this class, you can make a file and add it with the other classes, just add it to template_top.php for quick setup, or go all out and take all the code and make a module. So first lets extend the category class with need markup for a bootstrap nav menu. /* $Id$ explode_category_tree osCommerce, Open Source E-Commerce Solutions http://www.oscommerce.com Copyright (c) 2010 osCommerce extended class author: G.L. Walker Copyright (c) 2014 G.L. Walker Released under the GNU General Public License */ class explode_category_tree extends category_tree { var $parent_group_start_string = null, $parent_group_end_string = null, $parent_group_apply_to_root = false, $root_start_string = '<li class="dropdown">', $root_end_string = '</li>', $parent_start_string = '<ul class="dropdown-menu">', $parent_end_string = '</ul>', $child_start_string = '<li>', $child_end_string = '</li>'; function _buildHoz($parent_id, $level = 0) { if(isset($this->_data[$parent_id])) { foreach($this->_data[$parent_id] as $category_id => $category) { if($this->breadcrumb_usage === true) { $category_link = $this->buildBreadcrumb($category_id); } else { $category_link = $category_id; } if(($this->follow_cpath === true) && in_array($category_id, $this->cpath_array)) { $link_title = $this->cpath_start_string . $category['name'] . $this->cpath_end_string; } else { $link_title = $category['name']; } if (isset($this->_data[$category_id]) && ($level != 0)) { $result .= '<li class="dropdown dropdown-submenu"><a href="#" tabindex="-1" class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown">'; $caret = false; } elseif(isset($this->_data[$category_id]) && (($this->max_level == '0') || ($this->max_level > $level + 1))) { $result .= $this->root_start_string; $result .= '<a href="#" tabindex="-1" class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown">'; $caret = '<span class="caret"></span>'; } else { $result .= $this->child_start_string; $result .= '<a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, 'cPath=' . $category_link) . '">'; $caret = false; } $result .= str_repeat($this->spacer_string, $this->spacer_multiplier * $level); $result .= $link_title . (($caret != false) ? $caret : null) . '</a>'; if(isset($this->_data[$category_id]) && (($this->max_level == '0') || ($this->max_level > $level + 1))) { // uncomment below to show parent category link // //$root_link_title = '<span class="hidden-xs"><span class="glyphicon glyphicon-th-list"></span> ' . $link_title . '</span><li class="divider"></li>'; // divider added for clarity - comment out if you no like // //$root_link_title .= '<li class="visible-xs divider"></li>'; $result .= $this->parent_start_string; $result .= '<li><a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, 'cPath=' . $category_link) . '">' . $root_link_title . '</a></li>'; $result .= $this->_buildHoz($category_id, $level + 1); $result .= $this->parent_end_string; $result .= $this->child_end_string; } else { $result .= $this->root_end_string; } } } return $result; } function getExTree() { return $this->_buildHoz($this->root_category_id); } } /* end explode_category_tree */ Now you need to add a function somewhere, either in html_output.php or just slap it in template_top if doing a quick setup: function build_hoz($class='') { global $cPath, $level; if (empty($class)) $class = 'nav navbar-nav'; $OSCOM_CategoryTree = new explode_category_tree(); $data = '<ul class="' . $class . '">' . $OSCOM_CategoryTree->getExTree() . '</ul>'; return $data; } Notice the class variable, you may or may not need to use it according to the later steps. Now here is the css markup to add to your stylesheet: .dropdown-submenu { position:relative;} .dropdown-menu > .dropdown > .dropdown-menu, .dropdown-submenu > .dropdown-menu{top:0;left:100%;margin-top:-6px;;-webkit-border-radius:0 6px 6px 6px;-moz-border-radius:0 6px 6px 6px;border-radius:0 6px 6px 6px;} .dropdown-menu > .dropdown > a:after, .dropdown-submenu > a:after{display:block;content:" ";float:right;width:0;height:0;border-color:transparent;border-style:solid;border-width:5px 0 5px 5px;border-left-color:#cccccc;margin-top:5px;margin-right:-10px;} .dropdown-submenu:hover > a:after{border-left-color:#555;} And you may or may not need the javascript, it depends on a couple of things, I'll let you figure it out, but start by adding it to template_bottom.php <script> $(document).ready(function(){ $('ul.dropdown-menu > li.dropdown > a.dropdown-toggle .caret').removeClass('caret'); $('ul.dropdown-menu [data-toggle=dropdown]').on('click', function(event) { event.preventDefault(); event.stopPropagation(); $(this).parent().siblings().removeClass('open'); $(this).parent().toggleClass('open'); }); }); </script> If you do not have any subcategories, and you are using a nav menu the top categories displaying across the menu, you wont need any of the javascript. If you want to nest the category menu inside a single dropdown link, you will only need the first line after document ready(or you can actually modify the extended class) I simply gave a way of doing things that would fit a variety of applications. If I am confusing you, just add everything. Now inside your markup for a bootstrap nav menu their are 2 ways you can output the category tree <nav class="navbar navbar-default navbar-no-corners navbar-no-margin" role="navigation"> <div class="navbar-header"> <button type="button" class="navbar-toggle" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#bs-navbar-collapse"> <span class="sr-only"><?php echo HEADER_TOGGLE_NAV; ?></span> <span class="icon-bar"></span> <span class="icon-bar"></span> <span class="icon-bar"></span> </button> </div> <div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="bs-navbar-collapse"> <div class="container-fluid"> <ul class="nav navbar-nav"> <li class="dropdown"> <a class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" href="#">Categories<span class="caret"></span></a> <?php echo build_hoz('dropdown-menu');?> </li> </ul> <?php echo build_hoz(); ?> </div> </div> </nav> I combined the 2 together in the above code. You can pretty much make it part of the navbar top links, or next it inside one top link. Ive tested this up to eight sub-categories deep with great results - but if you go that crazy on a live shop, you probably need a consultant to help you better categorize- maybe an auto parts store may need that many.

  22. Reviews Navbar and Header Module BS This Navbar and Header Modules intent to offer an alternative to the standard (core) side column boxes. On small screens (Mobiles) the boxes are moved at the very bottom of the pages. They are therefore not useful for small devices. Header and Navbar Modules show on the top of the pages and are much more recommended for Mobile view. You can permanent replace your side column boxes to show always the Header or Navbar module instead on all screen sizes. Or you can add a device dependent helper class to the box and header/navbar module, so on desktop view the boxes are still used, but on smaller devices the header/navbar modules will replace them. Instructions how to do this are included. Compatibility: OsC 2.3.4 Bootstrap Community Editions EDGE at least up to 2017/01 PHP: 5.3, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 7.0 Filenames, Database Table Names and paths hardcoded. Superglobal variables used. ================================================================ NOTE: The Navbar module requires EDGE version since 2016/02/25 which include modular navbar. Otherwise you need to update to modular navbar. Download: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9562 Screenshots:
