  1. Brenda, The files you are talking about are probably saved in Unix format. All of the major computer operating systems (Unix, Windows, Macintosh) use a different combination for signalling the end of a line. To view files that have Unix line breaks, try opening them in wordpad, dreamweaver, or microsoft word. Most other HTML editors can read & understand the different formats as well Good Luck, Will.
  2. LatestNews is actually a contribution by me (Will Mays). All credit go to me, he just updated it for ms1, afaik. New official release coming soon, with bbcode or wysiwyg support Cheers, Will The LatestNews Guy
  3. I don't see why it wouldn't be possible ... should be able to follow the instructions for wysiwyg almost all the way through! I'm going to be updating latestnews shortly, but i'm still tossing up over whether to include BBCode, WYSIWYG, or both with an option ... hrm. Will, The LatestNews Guy
  4. THX, I was contacted by somebody to complete work on a bPay module during late 2002. The job was cancelled due to the fact that my deliverable time was long (NSW HSC took priority). The plan was for the module to be eventually released as a GPL'ed osCommerce contribution, but the project was to be intially completed on a paid basis. if you wish to continue discussions on this matter, i can be contacted off-forums at fred @ volutin.net
  5. Hi, I will be releasing a new version with all the more features, and updates to the latest milestone of osCommerce (most likely it will coincide with the release of MS2.2) Feel free to drop me an email if you need more info. Will.
  6. Hmm I think you are both being a little redundant in the coding of that breadcrumb. This is unnecessary: $breadcrumb->add (NAV_TEXT_WHAEVER,'' .$file. '', 'NONSSL'); This will work as well, note the lack of '' things around $file. It doesn't need them. $breadcrumb->add (NAV_TEXT_WHATEVER, $file, 'NONSSL'); But I reckon that this will be pretty cool ... It will get rid of the file extension, and convert all other dots to spaces. $breadcrumb->add(implode(' ', explode('.', $file)), tep_href_link(FILENAME_OSWRAPPER, 'file='.$file)); Now that's what I call a one-liner. All I have to make it do is make it drop the PHP extension, for which I reckon I would need at least a two-liner. I'll try and think of a way to do it.
  7. Carsten, Thanks so much for taking over this!! I like seeing my work fall into good hands!! With the options for setting the number of articles, I just added it as a configuration option in the 'maximums' section of the config screens. It seemed to be a good enough solution, as it puts all the maximums together ...
  8. afaik Steve (Snowman) has made something much much much better than just an expresspost thingy. Have a look here: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,648
  9. Nice to know its working. No need to really apologise. I forgot to add the <sarcasm></sarcasm> tags around that last post of mine ? I keep on saying that a new version of LN is coming, but it keeps on not coming. I am having a little difficulty getting my head around the multi-lingual code. :(
  10. plz take that back :(
  11. Argh?? Did you fully read the file INSTALL.txt in the package? You are using v1.1.0 (the $Id$ header from the SQL file tells me so ? I'll just grab that revision out of CVS so that I can have a look ? Yup, you forgot to add the define for the table to the correct files. From the first third of the INSTALL.txt file: ############################################################################## ## ## INSTRUCTIONS: ## - ***TURN WORD WRAP OFF TO VIEW THIS FILE*** ## - while installing, please make sure that you include the comments that ## are provided -- they make it easier for an uninstall / upgrade later!! ## - with additions, indent till it looks like it fits. Indenting has been ## removed in this readme to make it easier to read. ## - some lines are more than 80 characters long. Please make sure that you ## search for these as one line ####[ OPEN ]################################################################## catalog /includes/application_top.php ####[ FIND, 83-85 ]########################################################### define('FILENAME_SPECIALS', 'specials.php'); define('FILENAME_TELL_A_FRIEND', 'tell_a_friend.php'); define('FILENAME_UPCOMING_PRODUCTS', 'upcoming_products.php'); ####[ AFTER, ADD ]############################################################ /* BEGIN latest news - added 'define' statement below */ define('FILENAME_LATEST_NEWS', 'latest_news.php'); /* //END latest news */ ####[ FIND, 134-137 ]######################################################### define('TABLE_ZONES_TO_GEO_ZONES', 'zones_to_geo_zones'); define('TABLE_WHOS_ONLINE', 'whos_online'); define('TABLE_ZONES', 'zones'); ####[ AFTER, ADD ]############################################################ /* BEGIN latest news - added 'define' statement below */ define('TABLE_LATEST_NEWS', 'latest_news'); /* //END latest news */ And there are instructions further down in the file for adding the defines in the administration module. HTH
  12. For all of those people who are stuck with having to use python or perl, I am going to be creating a script in python to perform the mail2db functions. I'll post here again when I have a beta ready for testing, and then I'll hopefully be able to contribute it (maybe even in the same package set).
  13. I figured that, but the different character accents show up differently in some operating systems (especially in non-unicode fonts). For the readme file is it alright if i leave off the tilde (~)??
  14. Liesbeth, Coming soon to a contributions area near you - Latest News v1.2.0. This release will contain full multilingual capabilities, just like the other areas of the admin. It will, however require a database rethink, which is why it is taking me so long (relatively speaking) to update. Please keep in mind that v1.1.0 was only released 7 days ago. I have had to compile a magazine in that time. I am anticipating to have v1.2.0 released within the next 7 days, after i have finished a mod for Trusten. Thanks to some suggestions just in, the following features will be implemented in the future: * news history (i.e. seeing old news posts on the catalog end) * news intro, leading into full news page * image for the news item. * auto-linker to a product page, implemented using BBCode style markup. As a side note, now that i am using CVS to keep track of development, I will be able to support _all_ versions of the code. please don't hesitate to contact me via the email address listed in the mod, or via the bug-tracker (when i figure out how to make it work on the SF.net servers -- they don't like sessions.)
  15. This is version v1.1.0 New in this version: - bugfixes -- date & SQL file - spanish admin interface translation - skeleton for german admin interface - 'New news item' button (forgot it last time) If you are using windows, it's best to view the documentation in Wordpad -- it utilises unix line breaks.
