  1. Refreshing the 500 internal server erorr page worked (i got the error twice/deleted and recreated the database).

Here is the log just in case it can help:

  2. I am getting a 500 Internal server error after the install step of entering company information - database has already been populated with product data etc. however after clicking next on step 4 I am given a 500 error page:

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at [email protected] to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

let me know if there is more info I can provide.

    Thanks!

Did you see the underlying code or the server specification?

Not at all. And I tend to agree/be in the same boat. I know it is based on trueloaded which seems to be a totally different platform. It appears to be this new version will be oscommerce in name only.

that isn’t necessarily a bad thing though osc was in need of a total revamp.

  4. Thanks so much for the demo today, I really appreciate you taking the time to show it off.

I saw some really nice features that would certainly be considered enterprise or at the very least, require a lot of add-ons/apps and customization to achieve with some of the more popular ecom cart platforms out there right now.

multiple storefronts, multi-currency, full multi language (checkout pages too, looking at you shopify), different pricing per currency/customer - all of those features are either required or highly wanted from a platform but I was not able to find anything that seemed as robust (maybe Magento has this but it is a much bigger beast).

That being said I still am very curious to see how things run in reality, especially when loaded with many SKUs/attributes. How quickly it is able to run on a shop with approximately 100,000 SKUS will ultimately be very important to me.

I look forward to having the actual code to play with and test.

  5. What exactly is being exported?

Is it just a list of products. Is there any customization in what can be exported?

I ask because i have made an export on my current oscom site for quickbooks exports of orders in specific status's - is this something that can be done easily or will I need to rework my export as something totally separate as I have on my current site? Here is a screenshot of my current site to give an idea of the functionality I am looking for:

     image.thumb.png.951a5a7dcc65ed1deadaaca77ff67815.png

As you can see I am also using a program called ZedAxis to imoort the csv files into quickbooks.

  6. Thanks I am not familiar with YII at all so definitely keep an eye on that framework.

Another how to for shop owners:

Returns and exchange management. how to keep track/be notified/notify the customer throughout the exchange procedure.

Personally we do not provide return labels but that could be part of it.

If an order is being partially returns/partially exchanged how to update the order in those cases etc.

  7. I think a big how to that hasn't been broached much is how to move from 2.x to v4

out of curiosity are you able to say how similar if at all any of the code will be?

Will it be completely different on the front end or is the original code being updated?

How similar if at all with the database structure be?

  8. Loving the consistent updates.

definitely super important for us to have a Canada post shipping module but that is not something I would 100% expect to be developed by the core coders. It is usually an addon. Of course if there was a module included it would be phenomenal.

One question is concerning weight/dimensions of attributes. For example a size 14 boot is not the same weight/size of a size 6. Will v4 allow for different dimensions based on attributes?

  9. Is the above product page showing the tunic live on the dev site? I was not able to find it and it looks to be nicer than any of the current product pages and shows some interesting features in the image so I wanted to see if I could play with a live version.

  10. Alright I have a few How to's I supposed:

    1. How to have the same item in multiple categories and sorted differently in each (duplicate item)
    2. How to setup Canadian Taxes
    3. How to setup Canadian shipping (canada Post namely)
    4. How to setup an export to accounting software (this is something I had created as an export to csv and use Zed Axis currently to import in QB desktop)
    5. How to add a color swatch or color image for an attribute
    6. how to setup currency conversions with rounding so prices look proper
    7. how to add filters to products
    8. How to add size charts to products (repeated use between products)
    9. How to manage users subscribed to newsletter/sync with newsletter service (mailchimp or other)

  11. Thanks for the reply. I think I understand somewhat of what is planned. I understand it can be hard to reveal all the details of a plan with moving parts.

One other small feature request that you don't see with many newest ecom platforms is the Who's online feature of the admin panel which allows you to view the customers current activity as well as their current shopping basket. Are there plans to refresh that or at least keep it intact?

  12. Thanks so much for the reply and the work. I think hearing the way attributes will be handled above will make a world of difference in automatically generating google shopping feeds even if it is not part of the "out of the box" experience.

I am curious, how big is the dev team working on this?

I have never heard of trueloaded before but after looking into it it seems from the screenshots of the admin a lot will be borrowed from that platform and implemented as oscommerce. I guess what I am asking is, why not simply use trueloaded instead of oscommerce?

  13. Hello,

I am not sure this is the appropriate place to do so but I did see some other posts like this so I thought this would be worth a shot. First of all very excited/impressed with what I see as a long time Oscommerce store so thanks so much for what looks to be a bright future!

secondly these are some of the sorely missing features that we have been hobbling/hacking together with our current store that would be sooo nice to have:

    1. Inventory management per attribute. Each attribute should be able to have its own SKU/inventory levels for obvious reasons

    2. Much better integration with google shopping/facebook catalogs. syncing through the google shopping api would work wonders for us instead of having to manually manage a spreadsheet feed

    4. Better integration with Google remarketing tag out of the box so that the specific SKU can be remarketed.

    5. Category page filters that can be assigned to each product (I think I saw this in one of your post's images and can't wait to see more!)

Many of the things I was going to mention have definitely already been shown in your posts but the above are quite important to us so I was just hoping to get them mentioned!

Here is the monthly sales code, remember all i have done is make it work on BS4, the original code is unchanged and all credit is original coders.

Thanks for the work everyone. Why not post that as an addon or an update to the addon?

Trying out the admin panel on a fresh site. I noticed the who's online feature is not showing the customers cart properly. Is anyone working on that I might take a dive into that and see if I can get it to work.

  15.  My guess is sellonline will come back - but it will be LOW priority for CP....

I`ve switched to this new REST module and its working very well.

Upgrade is very simple.... as long as you have API user name and Password (they are different than sellonline).

Yep Still not online. I activated fedex calculator in the mean time even though we ship with canada post, just so that we can get the orders pushed through online.

I eventually got this reply from them admitting there might be an issue with sellonline:

"We are working hard to get to the bottom of the issue.  We are aware of a technical constraint when using TCP protocol - do you fall into that category?  If so, we're investigating a viable workaround to save customers a few hours of recoding.  Http protocol seems to be working fine."

Not sure if that applies. I had to update my server to php5.4 as well as update my oscommerce site to the newest version to comply with the new php.

All of that was due anyways (though I am probably switching to magento within the year),. but it would have been nice to have some warning and not just downtime with no fix.

  16. correction... it was my admin setting for Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship. - Set to 50 (kg).

This needs to be below this Canada Post limit of 30kg.

    Hey Scott,

Canada post sellonline has been down since saturday for us. They announced they would be down for the weekend but have been down since (it's tuesday now) Our online shipping has been totally busted.

I just saw you posted this new version. Is this a coincidence? Do you have it functioning right now?

    Thanks,

    Rob

EDIT: Sorry I just read the rest of the posts I got anxious and wrote in right away. So do you think that sellonline will be coming back? Or since hte blackout have they moved onto only the REST module?
