Please Help Me.... Below is the story...
I have an existing OScommerce Shopping Cart and Database that is working fine but we've outgrown the website space so we had to move to a new webhost.
This has occured and all is well there. But....
In order to get the database moved I had to export it to 4 different files and then import those 4 files into a brand new database on the new webhost.
This database is working just fine and I've done the install process with the software on the new webhost and all is good with the catalog and in the admin side but.... the problem I'm having is that the Product Attributes: Option Type Feature TEXT fields are no longer working??? all they show is the word TEXT and will not allow you to type in what You'd like... for example on the old server we have fields like enter childs name or friends name, etc.... all of these fields no longer are working?
does anyone have any ideas of what I need to do to fix this?? it was all working and is still working on the old server but I can't keep it there as we're outgrowing that site and they don't have a feasible package for us to use...
It's been very frustrating to get so far and then to be shut down because of a TEXT field...
Please Help or point me in the right direction.

It would be great if is was one of the questions in the new user sign up section. Anyone out there know how hard it would be or easy it would be to add it to the database and/or add the question?

and I really applaud folks like Greg who have helped me merge my files and I will be installing them tonight and testing the system.
I never meant to say i didn't appreciate any of the contribs. I use quite a few myself.
It's an excellent cart system!

Text Attributes Add-On. It is working great. But I really need to add the Gift and Discount Voucher but i am having problems with the merge of files. I'm not illiterate but I want to make sure i do it correct or have someone do it for me. I have even used a DIFF program to no avail.
intereted in helping me or pointing me in the right direction?

How about i try this request instead of my prior.
Is there an easy way to merge files and know you've done it properly when you already have previous mod's done to most of the files?

I am trying to install the Credit Class/GV/Discount Mod and I am not having any luck. I have other MOD's installed on my cart and I am having difficulty merging my files. Is there anyone out there that would be willing to help me merge these files correctly so I can try the install again?

so how did you get the text data on the reports and shopping cart.
What I found was that I had not set up the "TEXT" Attribute field correctly in the database. Once I did this everything started working great and they way i needed it too as well as how it was designed to work. I know this isn't very much info but if you need or want more help on it let me know, and I will go thru it better. But, for sure redo your "TEXT" field and make sure it is the number (0) Zero entry fot hat product attributes.

Does anyone know how or is it possible to include the "option_name" in the shopping cart and reports that the store owner receives for each order along with the the option text?
example:
Child's Full Name: John Alan Doe
I have a need for this because I will be using several Text Option fields and I will need to know what the user enters and what that entry belongs too.
I hope this is an easy request or item to do.

Has anyone developed or contributed a way to have Text Field Options so that a user could type in an option? Example: I have a customer that has a product that needs to be personalize so they are asking for the name to put on the product, etc...
Hope this capability is out there. Looking forward to finding out and implementing it soon. :D
