    [CONTRIBUTION] CCGV (trad)

Other than having to start over editing shopping_cart.php FOUR times to get it right with all my other mods, this was actually one of the easier installs I've ever done. Great instructions. Since gift vouchers are technically a company liability and are technically not subject to expiration (for the ones purchased by customers, not the ones sent for free from the company), I would like to see another sub head in the admin section to list the gift vouchers that are out ~~there~~ - waiting. something like - - name or email of customer who owns the voucher (might not be the buyer if it was sent to someone) - - amount (or balance, I think original amount is not of any interest for this list) - - date purchased or sent to someone (so we know how old one is, and could follow up) The Gift Vouchers Sent sub head isn't quite right as it doesn't include voucher amounts still owned by the original purchaser and it doesn't track the unused balance of any outstanding vouchers. As usual I'm willing to take a stab at it if someone would list out the files and tables that are involved, provided this wheel isn't already turning somewhere and I missed the train.

    Seperate Pricing Per Customer v3.5

I am seriously stuck on my "great idea" to have a promotion wherein the customer is allowed to type in what price they want to pay for an item. I started a thread here http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=311558 "Name Your Price" but alas lots of views but no joy. I'm posting here since all my stuck points appear to lead back to dealing with the price issue and that means dealing with sppc and $pf and "final_price". After 10 days, I feel like I'm just going around in circles, and every day I find a new file that deals with price, that may or may not need modded. [And every day, I have a new appreciation for the SPPC contrib gang. whoa.] I've got some bits and pieces put together. What I would like is a coding buddy to help untangle the thicket for me so I can do the work. I'm not (yet) seeing the path from putting an input field for price on the product_info page to getting that price to end up in the basket, then the order. Seems like every time a file is called, the price is recalculated all over again from the "products" dB. Anybody interested in working on this with me? Perhaps there is a "flow chart" somewhere that shows how the files all relate to each other? As Always, TIA

    Seperate Pricing Per Customer v3.5

yenhun, in mine it is in catalog/login.php, around line 89 (I have many mods so YMMV), starting with: // BOF Separate Pricing Per Customer: choice for logging in under any customer_group_id it is only on the customer side so you can test being a member of different groups. Not needed on the admin side. also my SPPC is from 2006 - just logged in to see what's new with the mod!
  4. Hello All! Some recent orders are coming in with the shipping being charged at $1.00. Normally I have free shipping after the customer spends $50.00, and the orders in question are all under $50. But, none of my table-rate shipping modules have 1.00 for a value! The lowest one is $2.50. I have 5 different table-rate modules (triggered based on customer type or zone) that have been being used for almost 2yrs now, and nothing new has been added or changed. So where is the value coming from, how in the world do I attempt to track this? Thank you for any thoughts y'all might have on this.

AH HA ! I'd forgotten about that part. All is well now, and thanks for asking the right question.

    Seperate Pricing Per Customer v3.5

JanZ wrote: That is exactly the problem I can't seem to get around; the admin/zones thing is not picking up that the (any) customer needs Canada shipping and thus not grabbing canadatable.php. But when I desgnate it in the individual customer profile under shipping options, it works (I was testing to isolate if there was something wrong with the file/program canadatable.php). Same thing forAlaska/Hawaii/etc. My lowertable.php picks up correctly the lower 48 states + DC. I've set up the zones, and then attached the desired zone to the matching admin/modules/shipping section.

    Seperate Pricing Per Customer v3.5

I'm back at the shipping thing again. Through the forums here, I found a fast way to set up the tax/shipping zones at http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3404. Now I have three zones: lower US, outlying US, and Canada, each with the full complement of allowed states/provinces. Later I'll add "rest of the world". step 2, I copied the shipping module table.php (both parts) and adjusted for the two new zones. I've done this before for my wholesale customers who get different shipping rates and it works great. Now I have lower48table.php, outlyingtable.php, and canadatable.php. Through admin, install each, set each shipping table to its correct zone and filled in the table rate. all good, so far. But of course - - - :( When I set a Canadian customer to use only canadatable.php in the admin, it works perfect. I have SPPC 4.0. But osc doesn't pick it up on a default setting. There's just no shipping option at all - no 'free shipping' notice, nothing. the only one that appears to work as expected is lowertable. When I pretend to be someone from Alaska or Canada, no shipping option shows at all. All the shipping table files are identical except for the one word that tells them apart (throughout). Any clues where to start trouble shooting? I've already read through 6 months of forums posts on shipping/zones/table etc. Any reason for the SPPC section to skip looking at the state/zone correctly? TIA as always -

    Fancier Invoice & Packingslip v1.0

James, there is surely something wacky in either the page upon which a comment is entered, or on the next page. It shouldn't go directly to the fancier invoice. The fancier invoice is provided to the customer as an email, and as a button in their 'view_history' (at least that is how mine is v.6.1) You can probably comment out the comments section. Do customers use it? I suppose it depends on the store. Mine use it pretty regular, usually about half the orders have comments. Sometimes it is just to say HI and I get a little update on how their classroom and students are doing. Sometimes it is a shipping detail like 'leave on back porch'. Which is why I went through and added it to print in all the places where it wasn't. now about the error. do you have class objectInfo { etc. at the top of your fancy.php? My template file (html_invoice.php) has it starting on line 13. If it is missing all or part, well there's a trouble. Check your fancy.php against some of the other templates; my FI did not come with fancy.php.
  9. No comments, no interest, no assistance - I'm going to let this one slide on down the road and move on to something else.

    Fancier Invoice & Packingslip v1.0

I tweaked mine to show comments through view_history, admin/invoice & packing slip, still not showing in email. Been awhile, I remember copying the status listing code from the admin/orders section (y'know where you look at the order and it has the comments below and you can email & update) and pasting it into the fancier invoice sections where I wanted it.

designate lower 48 as a zone?

In the order_total stock module "shipping" (free shipping for orders over $x) I see there is a place to state "national/international/both". In the shipping module choices, there are 'zones' that can be designated for each. but these zones appear to be tax-zones. How would I set it up so that: 1. if the order is over $50, and is in the lower 48, use free shipping. It seems right now it would be for all 50. 2. if the order is outside the lower48 but still in US (AK, HI, APO's), use table rate. It seems now I would have to set up a tax zone for each, and then duplicate table.php 5 times and designate each one to a tax zone. Thank you.

    Help!! Authorize.net problems

double check your payment screen, when it comes back after an error. I took me forever to see this, but on mine the error from authnet shows up as one little line at the very top of the screen, before the actual page starts.

    Dangling Carrot (Free Gift/Discount Contrib)

I went ahead and installed Dangling Carrot and had it working, but it does not suit my needs. So I started working on an update, mostly to handle downloads and multiple gifts in cart, but I seem to be getting nowhere fast. Lots of pieces doing something, but not what they are supposed to. I need more joy! Turns out that the finished "upgrade" will really be a new mod that can exist along with Dangling Carrots. I really want to be able to offer some nice gifts to my customers when their order reaches a certain level, and not be limited to offering only one as it is in Dangling Carrot, which has some other limitations as well (no downloads as gifts). I've been at this all day every day for the last week and I'm pretty sure I'm just tilting at windmills now. hack, upload, no joy. hack, upload, no joy. ad infinitum. So I'm asking for help to develop this mod from someone who's been around osC long enough to know the interactions between files, and if a thingy is changed here it will also need changed there. Also needs to understand attributes and their little 1{2}3 system. Also preferrably one who has their own store modded with SPPC w/PB, but who would also be able to adjust the code for stock _if_ this turns into a contribution. I do not want to turn it over to a developer who will "just do it" as that won't help me learn how & why thingys work & don't work. I can "code" (depending on your definition) if I know what code is supposed to go where and why and how it interacts. And I 'm a good install instruction writer. Will you help bring all these pieces I've been working on into a working whole? I have the following in my bribe sharing bag: money, cookies, pizza, appreciation. cap-feathers. <cross posted to "support - dangling carrots" and "contribution development">

  15. OK here's an update, I found out that php builds an error log file on the server! and I found it! Well OK, it's exciting to ME. Turns out I still missed a = a ; a } and a ). "jeez". So it "works", if that means I don't get a blank page. But it's not doing what I want, so back to the code board.
