  1. I would like to only use the UPS shipping method for orders from the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. I would like to use USPS for ALL OTHER COUNTRIES. Does anyone know how to do this? I don't see how to create a Zone 1 with just US, Canada and Puerto Rico and a Zone 2 for all other countries. Thanks.
  2. Ultimate SEO URL requires modRewrite- it won't work without it. The SEF contrib and AP rewrite contrib also also require modRewrite. To my knowledge the only one that works without modRewrite is the cName & pName contrib.
  3. Does anyone have this contrib along with the Links Manager contrib? I am looking for something that will alter the Links Manager contrib to make the URLs more "Search Engine Friendly".
  4. Looking for feedback: I am interested in the Google PR of those sites with Ultimate SEO URLs and the Header Tags Controller contributions installed. Does anyone have both of these contribs installed and have a decent Google PR for their products and categories. I have noticed that there are some sites that have zero PR for categories and some products with Ultimate SEO URL contrib installed, even though they have had the contrib installed for over 6 months.
  5. I made the switch to the new site about 4 weeks ago using just "redirect". When I saw that I was dropped from Google (about 8 days ago), I changed them to "redirect permanent". I am still waiting to see if that helps. I am not sure if changing from "redirect" to "redirect permanent" will help the situation, or if it is already too late. I would like to hear from anyone that was able to migrate to a new site and maitain their rankings in the search engines (most notably Google). Please share your tips. Thanks radders for the info.
  6. You do not have to enter in the expiration date in order to issue a refund with Authorize.net. To issue a refund/partial credit, you just need: * Original Transaction Number * Last 4 Digits of Credit Card Leave the expiration date field blank. I called Authorize.net because I had the same question/issue and they gave me that tip. Hope that helps.
  7. I am interested to see if there is any magic behind migrating from a non-OsC site to an OsC site with the Ultimate SEO URLs v2.1 contrib and maintaining your search engine rankings (as best as possible) !! I was under the impression that if redirect rules were set up in the root .htaccess file to map the old site's indexed URLs to the new site's URLs, then the drop in rankings would be minimized. HOWEVER, I did this and saw my Google rankings drop off the face of the Earth. In my .htaccess, I have the following: Redirect /oldsiteurl.html http://www.newsite.com/newsiteurl-i-9.html Questions: 1) Can anything can done immediately to help get my rankings back up? I did a "site:www.mysite.com" and when through all of the indexed pages and made sure they were redirected to the new site. I did find about 15 pages out of 110 that were not redirected in my .htaccess file. When I clicked on the indexed URL, I got a 404 error. This may have killed me, but I am not sure. 2) In the future, what should I do differently?

  9. When a customer goes through checkout and payment is processed succesfully, no order receipt page or "Thank You" page is shown. When a customer clicks on the CONFIRM ORDER button on the Order Confirmation screen, the screen goes to "What's In My Cart" and the following is displayed "Your shopping cart is empty". The order still posts correctly in the database and the customer receives an e-mail, but there is no Thank You page immediately after purchase which makes it appear to the customer that the order did not go through succesfully. I am using Chemo's Ultimate SEO and the Credit Class/Gift Voucher/Discount Coupons contrib. I found that if I modify /includes/functions/html_ouput.php per instructions for the Ultimate SEO contrib, then no order confirmation page comes up. If I use the original /includes/functions/html_ouput.php then the order confirmation page is show like it should. Has anyone had the same problem with the Ultimate SEO contrib and no order confirmation page?
  10. I am coming off another shopping cart package that will place the referring URL into the order admin notes when the order is placed. That way, I know the search engine/search string that was used. Question: which contrib(s) is works best for what I am looking for above?
  11. Anyone ????? Some of you have to have some input on this one. Especially those using Chemo's contrib.
  12. I have installed the latest contrib for spiders.txt and Chemo's Ultimate SEO. Can anyone recommend some search engine spider simuators that I can use to ensure no sids are being passed back? For obvious reasons, I would like to use those simulators that already have listings in the latest spiders.txt contrib. Thanks
  13. I haven't used affiliate programs in the past, but I am interested in starting now. If I host the affiliate software/database, I would image that I will get a lot of questions/concerns regarding fairness of commission payouts since I would host the sales information. Really, this applies to any other affiliate program that I would host. QUESTION- Is there a feature that would make the affiliate trust that their commission payout was fair?. Do they get a report/view of how many customers they sent to my site and how many of them were converted into sales? I know this is a newbie question, but I wanted to get a bit of background before I installed the osCAffiliate software and went on my way. Thanks
  14. I haven't used affiliate programs in the past, but I am interested in starting now. I am aware of 3rd party affiliate programs like CommissionJunction, etc. that are run on an independant platform (independant meaning the program does not run on the site that sends the customer your way, or on your site itself). However, I had a newbie question about the tracking features of the OSc Affiliate program (or really any other program that is run on a non-3rd party server). If someone wants to be an affiliate member of my store, how can I give them piece of mind that the sales data isn't manipulated and that they are not getting screwed on their commissions? I figure they have access to reports that run on your server, but those can be easily manipulated. Any input is appreciated. I am just playing Devil's Advocate, but figured I would get asked this question rather frequently. Thanks in advance.
