  1. I'm sure this has been asked a zillion times but I can only print this topic upto last Nov.6. COOLMENU WORKING? I can get the DHTML Menu contrib working fine but I can't figure out how to center it in a 750px centered shop. I've done this in sts_user_code: $sts_block_name = 'coolmenu'; require(STS_START_CAPTURE); require(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'coolmenu.php'); require(STS_STOP_CAPTURE); $template['coolmenu'] = strip_unwanted_tags($sts_block['coolmenu'], 'coolmenu'); Then placed the javascript in the template head tag <script LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.2" SRC="includes/menu_animation.js"></SCRIPT> I can get coolmenu box to show but it is without categories. Just blank. Please, please someone help me with this. I've made other shops with this great STS contrib but this has me stumped.
  2. I'm using DHTML menu contribution on a site http://www.musicplace.com.au. But now this new shop is 750px wide and HAS TO BE CENTERED. THe DHTML menu contrib is absolutely positioned. Can someone please work with me on centering this, or better yet show me a link on how to do it??? Many thanks, Rob

    STS 1.8 and new infoboxes..

Titus, There is a STS thread around here and what I do is go to a message from that thread and use the forum option at the bottom of the page that allows you to download a HTML file of the entire 52 page thread. This question has been thoroughly fleshed out there. Try this URL http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=58541 and download the lot then search for key words like "new infobox" Keeps you in the "loop" better this way. Cheers, Rob
  4. dumb dumb dumb!!! Being lazy or more to the point worried that I would not get the configure.php configured properly on the remote server, I uploaded my site then went to catalog/install/index.php to get the script to write the configure file. Normally this would be fine BUT, STS hacks the configure.php file and the script writes a whole new configure.php file sooo.... that's why the following error: Fatal error: Failed opening required 'STS_START_CAPTURE' (include_path='./:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/music/musicplace-www/includes/application_top.php on line 586 Too easy! Now I can rest and have a merry christmas waiting for Santa. Maybe he'll bring me something to keep the wolf away from the door!
  5. Fatal error: Failed opening required 'STS_START_CAPTURE' (include_path='./:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/music/musicplace-www/includes/application_top.php on line 586 I have had my MS2 site with STS1.8 working BEAUTIFULLY on BOTH my WIN XP development laptop and my remote testing server uploading through a very fast cable connection. I've made a .tgz of my site (from WIN XP laptop using Powerzip) and uploaded it to my commercial server (linux redhat) through a dialup. I get the above error. I can't work it out! The error is here -> http://www.musicplace.com.au/index_new.php Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I am now 1 week behind schedule. Many thanks, Rob
  6. Yea I tried the DHTML/Coolmenu and got nowhere. I can't remember why...sorry, but it was probably me not being able to track down the errors. Then I tried the DHTML menu on it's own and it works fine. Have a look at my testing site: http://sirius.mgs.vic.edu.au/~rag/catalog Just make sure to add the javascript into the <head> of your includes/sts_template.html file. Cheers and good luck, Rob

    Article Manager v1.0

GOTCHA! If you are using STS 1.8 you and Header Tags may be be experiencing the above problem with the function clean_html_comments() . It produces a vcouple of errors like: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare clean_html_comments() (previously declared in C:\xampp\htdocs\catalog\includes\functions\clean_html_comments.php:13) in C:\xampp\htdocs\catalog\includes\functions\clean_html_comments.php on line 13 or Fatal error: Call to undefined function: clean_html_comments() in C:\xampp\htdocs\catalog\includes\modules\article_listing.php on line 66 Here is how I fixed it. First of all I searched the whole site for "clean_html_comments" and found it in several files but in 2 files is was actually being included like this: catalog/includes/application_top.php catalog/includes/sts_display_output.php in order for this contribution (article manage) to work it needs to look for the function in application_top.php THE FIX: open catalog/includes/sts_display_output.php comment out: require(DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS . 'clean_html_comments.php'); Hope I'm making sense? It's pretty late. Cheers, Rob :D

    Article Manager v1.0

Great Contribution...but I'm still not there. I'm using MS2 and STS (Simple Template System) with Header Tags already installed. Admin works fine Catalog Side bars infoboxes show fine 1. If I click an author in the infobox AUTHORS I get the correct page with text but the page is not wrapped by my theme plus the following error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: clean_html_comments() in C:\xampp\htdocs\catalog\includes\modules\article_listing.php on line 66 2. Clicking "New Articles" I get this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: clean_html_comments() in C:\xampp\htdocs\catalog\includes\article_header_tags.php on line 134 3. Clicking "All Articles" I get the same as number 1 above but with this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: clean_html_comments() in C:\xampp\htdocs\catalog\articles.php on line 350 4. Clicking my 1 topics "Practice Tips" I get the same type of page as problem 1 and 3 above but with this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: clean_html_comments() in C:\xampp\htdocs\catalog\includes\modules\article_listing.php on line 66 I remember a clean_html_comments() error when I had STS and header tags both trying to clean_html_comments. Does that ring a bell? I've uploaded my site to: http://sirius.mgs.vic.edu.au/~rag/catalog It's a slow upload to my test server so it may take some time until it can be seen Maybe someone could try it out to see in a few hours? Thanks, Rob
  9. Hi, I've read the HelpDesk forum thread but can't find anything on this error. Please visit: http://sirius.mgs.vic.edu.au/~rag/catalog/ and the error will jump out at you. I'm using MS2 and Simple Template System (STS) I've heard the "Illegal offset type" error is from MS1 due to gif resizes...??? Could someone please clarify why this type of error gets generated? Or if you know this particular contribution and error then all the better. Please help as I've been working flat out on this site for 3 weeks and I'm getting very close to the launch date. Cheers, Rob

    Menu Tabs help

Hey Tom since I got my Category Tabs working just the way I want them can I jump in with my 2 bobs worth? I'm not sure that is correct. Have a look at my site www.musicplace.com.au/catalog I have the submenus but not as tabs. Also you'd really have to convince me that you really need them as tabs anyway as I think it would be a bit offputting having the tabs changing so often. My theory (and I'm no expert) is that tabs work so well because they emulate the real tab from a filing system. They are static and reliable. Use your tabs as a main navigation and then when you click to the main category page you will see the subcategories. With image overload caused by having all these tabs and category images all over the place you may want to consider turning off the manditory image display in Admin Configure/Images - set Image Required to FALSE. Then don't make any subcat images. Another cool way of handling subcats would be to work out how to get the text links to show up in the breadcrumb bar. I'm beginning to think that maybe the subcats are MORE important than the breadcrumbs. Not sure if I'm answering your question but what the heck.... Cheers, Rob

    Menu Tabs help

Tom, If you get a chance could you check my site in both IE and NN? NN just doesn't seem to be handling the tab text style. www.musicplace.com.au/catalog If you could that would be great. Thanks, Rob[/url]

    Menu Tabs help

Tom, Just a couple more questions please: 1. On the Admin screenshots page I notice there are 3 subheadings under Menu Tab ---------- Menu Tab Edit Category Tab Config I only have Menu Tab Edit showing. Am I missing something? 2. I'm not getting my CSS to work properly with the font face of the tabs. How do I set the text properties values? I'm sure you have already put the class="somestyle" for the category tabs, but I can't figure out where. Thanks Tom, Rob

    Menu Tabs help

This bit at the end of the insert into the header was giving me grief: <?php } // EOF: Added: Category and menu tabs ?> I just commented out the stray left facing brace "}" and it seemed to work. Otherwise I was getting an error for the header. Did I break anything? Seems to work fine now. Thanks, Rob

    It should read: define('TABLE_MENU_TAB', 'tab_menu');
