  1. The answer to this question is probably buried somewhere in this thread but, really, 193 pages? I mean, I don't mind reading and all....

Anyway, does this contrib work on 2.3.3? If so, are there any major modifications needed or is it pretty much as is?

    Thank you.

Yes this contrib works to latest version of osC and PHP.

Note: If you can't find a proposed code change then it no longer matters ( ignore it ) I haven't yet upgraded the "changes" instructions but some are really not important to correct operation on newer versions of osC.

  2. Seems like you are adding this hardcoded text to every single category.

If this is the case then you need to modify the index page module: -

    Then find the line ( 176 ish ): -

    $link_text = $this->acquireLinkText();

And add your text as appropriate where: -

    $this->key == 'cPath'

  3. Hi Robert,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, this is going to sound like a right newbie idiot question - I'm not sure what you mean by debug path. How can I supply one?

I mean you have supplied no information that could assist me in solving your issue.

All I can say to you is where to look to begin looking for a cause: -

Looks like the tep_href_link) wrapper is being used in the code to produce an image URL which won't work.

  5. Hi Robert,

I noticed something strange. I have 2 categories with HTML tags in their name, to put some emphasis on the categories list, but when I go the the category page, I see the tags written there as text.

Yes it is correct behaviour .. product names should not have html elements/tags and if they do they should be protected with htmlspecialchars() which removes the html meaning of the characters.

  6. I have been happily using this contribution for a year or so. For various reasons, I am forced to switch to PHP 5.4 from the 5.2 I am currently using. On my host, SQLite 2 is provided in PHP 5.2, but in 5.4 they supply only SQLite 3 with the PDO interface. I searched this topic but so far, I have found only other questions about using PDO and no answers. Has anyone successfully modified the contrib to use SQLite through PDO? If so, how?

I'll take a look at this Steve.

  7. I have customers that will add links in their information pages to other information pages or products (fixtures-i-23.html or wiget-p-45.html). The problem is that the session id is lost. I can't find a way or where to change the code to drag the session id anyway. I did have this working in the old SEF Link Transformer. BUt I really don't want to back to that.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

This seems to be a misunderstanding of the way sessions work.

You should be forcing cookie usage and not relying on insecure querystring based session ids.

Forced cookie usage requires correctly set SSL certificates and config settings.

  8. Hi, I've been looking for help everywhere but I can't get to my answer.

I want to configure Ultimate SEO Urls 5 with choose uri format = rewrite, but when I do that I get 404 errors, I've read that I have to configure my .htaccess file but I don't know how. Can you help me plase?

  9. Hi, I installed SEO PRO 5, but when I turn "true" gives me in error in a subpages

    "The requested URL / catalog / Ã?? Â'Ã?? Â ¾ Ã?? Â'Ã?? Â ½ Ã?? Â ¸-Ã?? Â ¿Ã?? Â ¾ Ã?? Â ¼ Ã?? Â ¿Ã?? Â ¸ -c-2.html was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. '

I did step by step, but after installation shows only the main page, others pages url is "'Ã?? Â ¾ Ã?? Â'Ã?? Â ½". When off SEO URL 5 working normally. Any ideas?

    Thank you.

You need to create a character conversion set.

    See the files in extras/character_conversion_pack/

  10. @@fiddletime

Yes USU5 PRO is compatible with osC 2.3.3 and with PHP to current versions ( 5.4.6 atm )

Some of the install instructions for minor file changes may be hard to find but they are not strictly necessary, all you need to do is: -

    Upload the new files.

Then apply the following stages of the install..

    4) catalog/includes/functions/html_output.php

    5) catalog/includes/application_top.php

    7) catalog/ADMIN/categories.php

    8) catalog/ADMIN/includes/functions/general.php

Then read documentation/install_files/install_complete.htm and add the relevant changes to .htaccess if you intend to use the rewrite method.

  11. where are these constants located? (files) or tables

Its driving me crazy. Search engines will penalized me for duplicate contents

    any help is highly appreciated

The constants are in the USU5 files initially but they are entered into the database configuration table on install.

  12. @@fgwapo

The only time this could happen is incorrect installation or manual DB manipulation.

When USU5 installs it sets the following constants in the admin configuration: -

    	  $constants = array( 'USU5_RESET_CACHE', 'USU5_ENABLED', 'USU5_CACHE_ON', 'USU5_URLS_TYPE',

If any of those are not defined the script will reinstall.

Equally in includes/application_top.php if the standard osCommerce code defining the configuration constants is not before the USU5 code then the required constants would not be present forcing a reinstall.
