  1. Hi all, I need to mod my OSCommerce so that it's *NOT* e-commerce enabled, at present. My client wants an online store which can go e-commerce in the future, but for right now, she wants a site which will have her entire catalog online, but wants customers to print out the shopping card and fax it in to her to place an order. Her customers are all repeat buyers she's dealt with for years, so this may not be as obvious a problem as you'd think. It just gives them an online system for previewing and purchasing, in addition to the print catalogs they use already. How would I do this? I basically need a shopping card that doesn't ever "check out," but instead prints out an order page which they can fax in, with their credit card information, to her fax number. Is there a mod that does this, or can i do it myself by disabling / adding some options? Thanks, Dave.
  2. Thanks...where are the infobox files located? Somewhere in the includes? -Dave.
  3. Hi all, I just installed STS on a fresh OSCommerce install. I tried using a plain html template site-wide to see how it worked, and I'm having mixed results. The template seems to work, to an extent, but OSCommerce is still trying to show the info-box header image files, etc, when displaying those items, even though they don't exist in my template. How I get rid of them, or modify them? I suppose I could go and manually find the .gif images and replace them with blank gif's, but that seems like an incomplete solution...how would I prevent them from showing up at all, when they're not referenced in my template? Is there a CSS file somewhere I have to modify? Thanks, Dave.
  4. I figured it out. I was doing the install and config, and then forgetting to download the updated version of the config file before adding the STS lines to the bottom of the code. So i was either getting the STS lines without the config file updated, or the updated config file without STS. Embarassing...but I suppose that's how I'm going to learn. Can you point me in the direction of the FAQ's? Thanks! Dave.
  5. Yes, the STS files appear to be on the webserver...how can i check to make sure the webserver can read them? Thanks, Dave.
  6. Hi all, I'm totally new to OSCommerce, so excuse the newbie problems. I installed OS Commerce, and got the default screen. I tried installing STS, using the simple install instructions, and added the lines to the config file manually (copy-paste) to avoid having to reconfigure the install. I tried accessing the board, and got the new install screen, which I assume means that it couldn't find a valid config file. Ok, so i go through the config process again. Everything seems to check out properly, and clicking on "admin" works fine. Clicking on "catalog" produces: Warning: main(STS_START_CAPTURE): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/catalog/includes/application_top.php on line 511 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'STS_START_CAPTURE' (include_path='.:/php/includes:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/html/catalog/includes/application_top.php on line 511 So I did another clean install of OS Commerce, and given my current server timeouts, that took me all morning and afternoon. Once it was up and running properly, I did another install. I was very careful to make sure the config file was perfect, and i added the code at the bottom, saved it, uploaded it. Exact same problem. I got the install screen. I went through the config stuff again, and again, admin works fine, catalog throws me straight to the same error message. What's the problem? All help and suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Dave.
