    Official PayPal IPN Support Thread

I'm having trouble with my IPN passing the buyers address into Paypal. Everything with the IPN works like a charm, status is correct, emails get sent, inventory is updated, etc. My problem is on all of the payments I have received in Paypal none of them include the buyers address. I have to go back into my Admin Console and use the address provided there. Is there something obvious I missed as to why it won't pass it on?

ToyIce, have you installed this contrib? If so did you notice the problem with the filename being displayed at the top of the page as well? I'm still looking at the code but I'm not a programmer by trade so its proably something obvious I'm just not seeing.

    Meta Tag Controller Support

Very cool contrib so far! Quite simple but it seems to do the job! I am seeing one problem though, when I load it in a given php file I see the name of that php file at teh top of the page above my logo, for example index.php Main Logo Rest of Site...etc Gotta look at the code, maybe something obvious is being missed?
  4. Well crap, figured it was worth a shot. Its possible its the same problem, just coded differently. Something that is done in the URL manipulation seems to be causing the problems.
  5. Has anyone gotten this to work with a Paypal IPN? Specifically - http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1753/ From reading the other SEO Chemo thread I know some people are having the same problem I am with the SEF Urls where the install breaks my IPN's.
  6. I had this same exact thing happen with the SEF Urls so I was going to look into this one is hopes of it not being a problem here. I found a few snippets of code which caused the problem, not sure if SEO does it the same way but its something to think about... In HTML Output, adding this code $url_rewrite = new url_rewrite; $link = $url_rewrite->transform_url($link); In Application Top adding // SEO URLs require(DIR_WS_CLASSES . 'url_rewrite.php'); $url_rewrite = new url_rewrite; $url_rewrite->request_url();

I know this isn't necessarily a problem with SEF URL's but I love the way this looks and want to get it implemented but I'm running into a problem... When I install this contrib it breaks my Paypal IPN(v3.1.5), mainly these two steps seem to be the root of the problem. In HTML Output, adding this code $url_rewrite = new url_rewrite; $link = $url_rewrite->transform_url($link); In Application Top adding // SEO URLs require(DIR_WS_CLASSES . 'url_rewrite.php'); $url_rewrite = new url_rewrite; $url_rewrite->request_url(); Any reason why this would break the IPN? It works before this step, doesn't work after. Well it works...but won't update the inventory so it might as well be totally broken.

    PayPal IPN Issues

Well I'm gonna try a full re-install of all of the Paypal IPN files, I took a full backup and will revert to the original versions of all of these files in hopes I can get it working and then I'll move forward from there!

    PayPal IPN Issues

I'm having a problem with the Paypal IPN. Everything is setup ok, the admin console works fine, I can do sandbox tests without any problem, I log in, make the purchase and it bumps me to Paypal and the payment is sent and received properly into my account, even did a live test and I have the $$$ in my account. The problem is the IPN never removes the bought item from my store. It takes it out of the shopping cart properly but never updates my inventory count. I really have no clue where to look in the code for this. I have installed other contribs including PWA, SEF Urls, Header Tags but to make sure none of those were the problem I went back to a much older version of my site and its still not not updating the inventory. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem on my site, its because both Categories have a sub-directory named Action so its confusing SEF, if you rename one of them then both will now show up properly.

I've been digging and I don't know which is the right file to make this change, I don't want to hit the wrong one. On the new Contrib, does that replace Header Tags controller or work in conjunction with it?

    [Contribution]Paypal IPN - Devosc

Well I found a snippet of missing code in the checkout_process.php file and after fixing that I was able to complete a sale and it properly updates the shopping cart but the product quantity does not go down. In this case all items are only 1 of in the store so I can tell right away they are still available. Anyone know offhand where this particular portion of the code resides?

    [Contribution]Paypal IPN - Devosc

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me, my IPN install does not remove the item from inventory after the purchase... I'm using the 3.1.5 version of this, the April 18th version(http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1753/category,all/search,paypal+ipn) I was able to install it fine without any problems, it shows up in Admin properly and everything seemed to be working ok. I put off any real testing until last night and did a few test buys and I'm having a problem with the removal from inventory and I'm not sure where this portion is handled. I created a pair of Sandbox accounts, one a premiere/business and one a regular user. I set the premiere account as the store, set it it test mode and cart test both to Yes. I go through the check-out process, put the item in my cart and proceed through checkout, it bumps me to the sandbox, I pay correctly and it returns me back to the store. The business account does receive the $$$ like its supposed to, the order shows in my admin console as pending, everything looks right but the item is still in the users cart and still shows up in the invetory like it never sold. I went through the install docs and repeated the full procedure but its still not working. I don't mind troubleshooting it on my own but I don't know which file/step returns back to the store and updates the DB with the correct inventory count. I have another small fluky problem which I might as well mention. In the Admin Console/Modules/Paypal - IPN Test Console the link for this points to catalog/admin/paypal.php... the problem is I changed my Admin path in both configure files but this is somehow pointing to the old location, if I replace Admin with the right name it works. Not a big problem but it makes me if something else is wrong...

Great contrib! I love the way it looks on my site. I was getting some very fluky results due to multiple sub-cats with the same name but I just got more specific with them and its working fine now. Course all the items for testing I named test aren't working anymore but those will be deleted soon anyways.

Well I seem to have figured out my problem, just no clue how to fix it outside of changing my category names. I deal in old G.I.Joe toys, so I have a Category for Complete Figures, one for Incomplete Figures and one for Accessories. Joe figures are commonly sorted by year so under each I have a subcategory of the year name, 1982, 1983, 1984, etc, etc. On any category with a duplicate name with another sub-category it shows up as no items present even if there are. When I change the sub-category name so there is no other with the same name then everything shows up properly. I do have one which has a dual listing for 1986, both are valid but only one has the item count on it. So far I have gotten around this by changing all of the names but I would rather not if possible as it looks clunky. ****EDIT**** Ok so I lied, its not all fixed, now I can't seem to view the properties of any of my items, I click on the link for a given item and it doesn't go anywhere.
