  1. I am looking for a contribution or a solution, so that a customer can select to ship an item to different shipping locations based on the item. Rather than selecting one shipping location for all the products in the shopping cart. This would be useful for someone who is Christmas Shopping for many people, and has different shipping locations for the people whom they are purchasing the items for. I beleive this feature should be a crucial component to the stock OSC platform... Any ideas? Max

Option Type Feature v1.6 (for osc 2.2 MS2)

    Excellent! thanks matt... thank you for the insight! So far so good, I have a few more tests to the shopping cart to make sure it is sorting properly and ordering it properly... Now, as for the account_history_info.php, follow below: for ($i=0, $n=sizeof($order->products); $i<$n; $i++) { ? ?echo ' ? ? ? ? ?<tr>' . "\n" . ? ? ? ? ' ? ? ? ? ? ?<td class="main" align="right" valign="top" width="30">' . $order->products[$i]['qty'] . ' x</td>' . "\n" . ? ? ? ? ' ? ? ? ? ? ?<td class="main" valign="top">' . $order->products[$i]['name']; ? ?if ( (isset($order->products[$i]['attributes'])) && (sizeof($order->products[$i]['attributes']) > 0) ) { ? ? ?for ($j=0, $n2=sizeof($order->products[$i]['attributes']); $j<$n2; $j++) { ? ? ? ?echo '<br><nobr><small> <i> - ' . $order->products[$i]['attributes'][$j]['option'] . ': ' . $order->products[$i]['attributes'][$j]['value'] . '</i></small></nobr>'; ? ? ?} ? ?} How would I apply that to this code in account_history_info.php? To sort the info displayed in account history? Thank you so much for your time and effort, Max

Option Type Feature v1.6 (for osc 2.2 MS2)

Hey Matt, First of all, thanks for responding. I tried that snipet of code you suggested. That didn't work either. I still get the option text values showing up out of order when I log off and log back on. This is definately a tricky one. :( well, it's definately a move in the right direction, I see where you are going with it. If you or anyone else has any ideas, I would love to hear them... Or if anyone else is experiencing the same problem, I'd like to feel that I'm not alone. If it were possible, can someone test this with their working site? When I try it, the first order goes through fine, the second time this strategy is implemented, that's when I am experiencing these problems. I beleive it has something to do when the data is pulled from mysql and then placed in the variables assigned in the shopping cart after someone has logged out and logged back in. When the order is first constructed, things are fine when using arrays. but when the data is pulled from the database, it is displayed out of order. Thanks again, Max

Option Type Feature v1.6 (for osc 2.2 MS2)

I am also having the problem that Allen is having. My situation: I have multiple option type text fields per product. When entering multiple products (around three or more) with multiple text fields in the shopping cart the first time when entered, they are fine. When you log out and go back to the shopping cart to see your products and their option type text values, they are displayed out of order by option id. I have checked the "order by" code, and it is set to products_option_id When the email confirmation is generated it also displays the incorrect order, as well as order history when order is submitted. For the life of me, I have spent hours trying to figure out this bug. If anyone has encountered this problem, or see's that it is a problem that is prevelent to the contribution, i would surely like some help or guidance. Please help, max

    Official Mall Version

The original MS1 version was written by the same people (Snowtech). The new MS2 version of OSC affiliate will work with MS2. But, the Affiliate Branding has not been updated, as it was written by another individual. I am a code tweaker myself, and I couldn't get it to work with the new version of OSC Affiliate, or OSC MS2. I'm not that good yet at php to understand how to make it work. The Affiliate branding for MS1 requres that you have OSC Affiliate for MS1 installed. It thrives off of OSC Affiliate, and changes are made to it. Shadow

    Official Mall Version

Ok, I've been reading through all of your comments, and I think I may have a good suggestion for all of you. I have downloaded and implemented the Affilate Module, and also the Affiliate Branding Module for MS1. The affiliate module keeps track of statistics and sales for affiliates. While the other add on module to the affiliate module, actually brands a new store for a new affiliate, letting him upload his logo, and spits out a new url link for that store. I use this "Branding Module" as kind of a mall type system. In my case, I have different customers that I sell products to, and I needed a customer specific solution. I wanted one database, and one copy of OSC on my server. The affiliate module and affiliate branding modules accomplish this. This is what it will do: 1.) Brand a new store with a url reference (http://www.mystore.com/osc/default.php?ref=1 .... default.php?ref=2...ref=3) You get the picture. Each reference # = is a new store. 2.) Ability to specify a different logo placed in upper lefhand corner of OSC 3.) Track sales 4.) Select Products to be placed in particular store. 5.) Login for affiliate, with stats. What it wont do: 1.) Separate store login's for customers to each store. (If you go to each store, your login will work at each store.) 2.) It does not have the ability to customize payment options for each store. Everything is the same at every store as far as options and look. 3.) Template system. Every store looks the same, every store has the same optionability as far as core functionality. 4.) Email confirmations to affiliate, or multiple confirmations to affiliate and whoever else pertaining to that store. This is definately a step in the right direction. We just have to open up the module to work on a store id basis. Where everything is tied to a store id. Or affiliate id in this case. I would like to see a more secure option of this where I don't have to worry about my customers ending up on another shopping cart and ordering things from other stores. For right now, I have setup one login screen that directs the customers to their correct store. I have given all of the employees of each company one particular login for their company, and that directs them to their particular store. I hope this helps you guys out. I would love to donate a copy of my store to anyone who's interested and would like to take this further. These are my installed contributions: OSC 2.2 MS1 Admin Controller Affiliate Module Affiliate Branding Module (Modified to suit customer specific stores) Option Type Feature WYSIWYG HTML Product and Defalt Page Editor FedEx, UPS, and USPS Tracking Attributes Sorter Silver XP Buttons Better Shopping Cart Icons One More Thing, I am unfortunately stuck with MS1 as the Affiliate Branding Module is only good for MS1 release. Thanks for hearing me out, Shadow

Alright, I am begging now. Would someone be so kind and take a look at affiliate branding and update it to MS2? Or possibly lead me in the right direction to do it myself. I am baffled. max

You probably wont find any other language files besides english, as these are contributions from users of oscommerce. The gentleman who wrote this script as an add on to oscommerce, was generous enough to share it with the rest of the world. These "contributions" sometimes do not come with language files and sometimes the contributions are flawed or incomplete. These contributions are not software releases, or guarunteed add ons to oscommerce, and are made by people not associated with the oscommerce team. They are people like you and me. Well, they are better at it than I. :D Max

    Define MAINPAGE v1.3

It sounds to me like you've got an Admin contribution running in admin. If your admin contribution is like mine, you have to go into the Administrator within Admin, and click on file access, then open up the Catalog folder, and store the files associated with define_mainpage.php. I am using oscommerce 2.2 MS1 and Admin Account 1.2. This is what I had to do to make it accessable. If you are using another Admin Contribution, you may have to add a line in one of the languages files to make it accessable so that the Admin contribution recognizes it, and allows you permission to open that link. I hope this helps... Max
  10. Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to go back and change any of the text information when it has already been posted in the shopping cart. Ex: If I were selling T-shirts, and I had a three text boxes. 1.) Enter 1st line of text 2.) 2nd line of text. 3.) 3rd line of text. and I customized the t-shirt to say: 1.) I 2.) Love 3.) You All then I put the product in my shopping cart. Then I noticed I had made a mistake, and I wanted to go back to change the 3rd line to say "You" instead of "You All". I was wondering if that functionality could be imported, or how to go about doing that? as well, can this database info be linked with a local program to extract this info, and use it dynamically into a program like QuarkExpress, or any Adobe products, to generate printed material on the fly from the database? This would be useful for people who screen print coffee mugs or t-shirts. thanks, shadow
  11. Marcus: It sounds like the configure.php files may not have the changes applied to them. Take a look at them and see if the option type changes you made to them are there. This happens if you are installing this mod with a fresh copy of OSC, when you do the install for OSC, it wipes out the configure.php settings for option type feature. To correct this, you can go into the install/templates/pages folder, and find the install_x.php file that corresponds to configure.php, and insert the option type feature code that should get passed on when installing osc. If this doesn't solve your problem, then go through the install instructions again, and see if you may have missed something. I have encountered that before, and it was something minor that I forgot to do from the instructions. hope this helped... shadow

  13. I have previously installed v1.4 to MS1, and I am now going to install it v1.5 to MS2. affiliate_branding

Yes, is anyone working on an update for MS2? Pertaining to affiliate-branding. I apologize for my lack of php scripting ability, but these forums and people like you are my savior, and my source of knowledge. I promise that I am learning more and more each day... anyone know of any good places for me to find some good php learning courses? Thanks, each and every one of you!

Affiliate-Branding on MS2 Need some help PLEASE

I am in the same boat that you are. My php skills aren't quite up to par with the rest of these folks...but I am learning  . I have tried the same methods you have tried with no success. I spent hours using (beyond compare) a free script comparing utility, to try and figure out what the relationships were between the two. I think my first problem was, do I edit the files or write over them and replace them with the files from the Affiliate-Branding contrib? I tried several combinations, and came to the conclusion that I was spinning my wheels. I'm afraid this is over my head too. Anyone know of any php crash courses? I'm sure some php wiz will find a few snipets of code to change in it, and then it will work fine with MS2. Also, can someone generally explain what the branding utility will do? Does it actually create the affiliate page? Or do you have to set up a folder with certain files to create it? Thanks everyone for all your work and time. If you are like me, I know how time consuming and fun it could be all in one. Just don't let it get the best of you. Shadow
  16. Austin your 2 errors are being caused by your config settings. You are installing the admin mod locally, therefore you do not have an smtp server running. fix: go to "configuration", then "E-Mail Options", then for "Send E-Mails" switch to false. That will get rid of your error. Turn this back to true, when you upload to webserver and have a valid smtp. Shadow
