  1. I will attempt to explain what I am doing and what the problem is. I am attempting to convert an existing ADMIN mod for Quickbooks from osC version 2.2 to 2.3.4. For the most part it works flawlessly. It does what it is supposed to do except one small irritating thing. The mod creates what I will call a "sub-menuing" system. There is an file for the includes directory that creates php menu tabs on each page of the mod. Depending on the tab selected a "sub-menu" is supposed to drop down offering additional choices for that particular section. There is a <mod>_styles.css included with required files. Following the suggestions provided here http://forums.oscommerce.com/topic/368538-guide-to-converting-addons-from-22x-to-23x/ I have attempted to activate the styles css file. I have at one time or another left it in the module page_top.php as <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/<mod>_styles.css"> I have tried it in template_top.php after </head> as <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/<mod>_styles.css"> I have tried it in template_top.php before </head> with $head_tag .= '<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/<mod>_styles.css">' . "\n"; $oscTemplate->addBlock( $head_tag, 'header_tags' ); In fact - it was while doing this one that I discovered that the new osCommerce uses the jQuery system and truthfully - I have no clue HOW that affects any of what I am doing. Like I said - the UPDATED module DOES work with 2.3.4, the pages DO what they are supposed to do. I can (and reluctantly have) created individual section ADMIN menu boxes and could do away with the exisitng tabs. My reasoning for NOT wanting to do that is - People accustomed to using the module would find the menu boxes cumbersome and irritating. So HOW can I incorporate the <mod>_styles.css ??? The specific osC v2.2 module is located here -http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2847 BJ Chadduck

Convert ADMIN Addons from 2.2x to 2.3.x

First thank you for reply... I have discovered some things after posting the question. The css is actually being read when placed in the module page_top.php as <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="includes/<mod>_styles.css"> After posting I discovered that the css is NOT the problem - it is the php qualifying statement in the tab file itself. Time to break out the php5 books... gotta figure out what is wrong with this section of code foreach($menuarray as $menulabel=>$menuurl) { $x++; ((isset($submenuarray[$x]) AND in_array($PHP_SELF,$submenuarray[$x])) OR $PHP_SELF==$menuurl) ? $e=1 : $e=0; echo '<li'; echo ($e==0) ? ' class="inactive"><a href="'.$menuurl.'">' : ' class="active"><a href="'.$menuurl.'" id="current">'; (there is more code to complete the above sequence BUT the problem statement is the isset part) The TRUE problem revolves around the "isset" statement. It ALWAYS returns false so none of the tabs ever show they active.
  6. OSC2.2 RC2A conversion to OSC 2.3.4 These files I have assembled in this package assume that you, the reader, have access to the OSC configuration files, are somewhat knowledgable in the usage of PhpMyAdmin, a terminal program (like SecureCRT), and an FTP program. IF you are not I recommend that you stop now and go no further. WHAT THIS PACKAGE WILL DO: 1. INSERT the NEW tables as created by the OSC 2.3.4 a. Action Recorder b. Products Images c. SEC Directory Whitelist 2. MODIFY existing OSC tables to be as created by the OSC 2.3.4 sql file WHAT THIS PACKAGE WILL NOT DO: 1. Delete tables 2. Create tables required by user installed modifications 3. Modify fields inserted by user installed modifications These files do NOT ensure that user install modifications will work properly with OSC 2.3.4 - that is the end user's responsibility. FOLLOW THE READ_ME.pdf instructions The files are located here http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9097

I misquoted the vsn number it is RC2a thank you for pointing that out. Also I corrected it in the updated files. THANK YOU RE: I NEVER found this in the add-ons ALSO the ones I did find did NOT do the UTF-8 unicode conversion.

    New Certified PayPal Payment Modules

Harald Please understand that I live by the adage - "If it ain't broke Don't fix it." BUT having said that I am now performing a massive upgrade from a multiple patched MS2A installation to a clean 2.3.4 install. The Payflow Pro module currently installed is the first (or very close to the first) version is payflow_pro_v0.3 written by Dynamo Effects WHAT is the current version I NEED to install? Obviously the correct vsn is important I DO NOT want to screw this vital installation up. Thank you for your time and reply in advance. BJ Chadduck

USPS Rate V4, Intl Rate V2 (official support thread)

Not certain if everyone has realized it or not - USPS has "fixed" their garbage transmission. I was working on updating and installing when a customer called about his order.... I looked at his order and discovered that he had gotten a CORRECT response... further investigation showed it is now working without any changes on my part.

    [Contribution] - USPS Methods

I am currently using 6.3 and like everyone things went to hell in a handbasket on Saturday. To temporarily over the difficulty I enabled the Flat rate with a package average shipping cost of $11.25 - hopefully with the fix identified above I can disable Flat Rate and get back to business with the USPS Method module.... however BEFORE I update to 7.1 (which I am willing to do) I started pulling the ALL 7.x modules looking for valid installation instructions. None of the modules seem to have a set. I even went over to github and Nope none there. ARE THEY THE SAME AS 6.3?
  13. I am haing difficulty with modifying an admin module to work within the 2.3.1 environment that works fine in a 2.2RC2a environment. The module creates a file, stores the file, and when user presses the DL FILE button the file displays on the screen instead of being sent to the user. I have spent close to 24 hours researching this, on php sites, OSC sites, and here. It makes no sense since if the file is called direct by URL the browser says "where you wanna put it?" The only modification done to the working 2.2RC2a mod was removal of the tab menu and making it into a "box" on the admin screen. EVERYTHING except the file download portion works. It writes to the db, reads the db, creates the necessary file in the correct format, the file imports to the user's final program correctly like I said it works CORRECTLY except the DL. Code environment is Apache, PHP 5.3.2, and MySQL 5.1.41 - also the "admin/output" directory is 777. HERE IS THE CODE BEING USED. I even inserted extra echo cmds to ensure that each step was seen. Each step was reached, at least the echo cmd was sent to the screen but still no DL only screen display. // Download file if (DL_FILE==1) { /* ORIG */ $filename="output/orders.iif"; $size=filesize($filename); header("Pragma: public"); header("Cache-Control: private"); header("Content-Type: Application/octet-stream"); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=orders.iif"); header("Content-length: $size"); readfile($filename); I have been stuck on this for 5 days... I have tried countless variations of code for this found on many different sites. ANY and ALL suggestions would be helpful cause quite frankly I can not see WHY it is NOT working. (not to mention I am going bald from pulling out my hair LOL) Thank you in advance, BJ
  14. anyone have an idea? Is the code correct?
  15. Hello all; I utilize QB Enterprise v12 (2012) and unlike previous poster I CAN get the QBACCTS and the QBMISC iif files to import. However, like the previous poster i CAN NOT get the INVIMPORT to import. It contains 6149 items. Some are Groups most are not. Since the inventory file does not import this is of little value. It would be better if the IIF files were placed on the server prior to importation since the interface seems to time out before completion on large files such as my inventory. Just a thought. OH Well back to my modification of QBI 2.10c to work on OSC 2.3.1 BJ BTW I also pulled and installed hughesca's files AFTER the original files had an issue. His has the same issue.

    QBI Quickbooks Import

Has anyone modified the "free" version (2.10c) of Quickbooks Import available in contributions to work within OSC 2.3? At this point in time I have managed to get the files to display "properly" however the menuing does NOT work. The 2nd level menu does not display. Calling the files by their filenames they load and display correctly. Import of existing files works. Within the individual files the data is accessed and appears to be correct. Here is/are the primary problem(s) Since there is no submenu the functionality is disjointed. The DL of the IIF is not accomplished within the interface. Instead it is displayed on the screen. HOWEVER it is created and placed in qbi_output correctly. If pulled from there it does import correctly. I am at best a novice programmer. Give me an example and I can accomplish the rest. BJ
  17. Well, I am NOT "serverguy" BUT I accidently self induced the problem.... The problem was induced when I changed a setting the php.ini. The variable was short_open_tag. In php 5.3 these are the developer recommended settings ; Default Value: On ; Development Value: Off ; Production Value: Off ; http://php.net/short-open-tag When I moved it (what I thought was incorrect ) from "ON" as follows short_open_tag = On to the recommended "OFF" - that stupid problem presented itself... Since I had been working on the deprecated commands also I thought I had caused it with a typo. Have spent the last 4 and half hours copying ALL the files from a backup server. Copying the files DID NOT solve the issue. SO the deprecation fixes were not the problem. Realizing that the only other thing I had worked with was the php.ini I decided to verify from the back up server. Changing the variable above from "OFF" to "ON" in the php.ini solved the problem. Enjoy BJ

    PayPal Payflow Pro [New Version]

My hat is off to Brian for his efforts in creating this module and receiving recommendations from Paypal to use it as is shown here http://paypaldeveloper.com/pdn/board/messa...;thread.id=6309 . It was based on this recommendation that I began installing and using it. Before I begin I must state that I am NOT the original author of the module only a merchant with a few albeit limited skills with the php language and code tracing. Having stated that I also need to point out the issues I discovered with this module. 1. Many customers do NOT understand nor do they have a clue what CVV2 is. 2. The module will allow transactions to appear within the orders section showing them as APPROVED even though CVV2 portion failed. I am using osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 RC2 NOT RC2a I am in the US and Paypal is my ACH (Automated Clearinghouse) We only accept VISA and MasterCard. I will now explain what I did to resolve those issues and the information I utilized to make my changes and why. BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER - this works for me it should for you IF properly incorporated. BACK UP THE FILES REFERRED TO and if possible check on a test site first. QBI Quickbooks Import

Adam -- Since we do not have the Gift Voucher (or any other similar module for that matter) installed we can not quantify an answer regarding the error for the positive or negative value. We regret that we can not assist you with an answer. As to the discount (coming from the QB IIF) we are willing to be your tester on it since we have probably 20 or more different items set up like the one described above. Thanks for the heads up on the discount portion not working properly because truthfully I thought I had installed it incorrectly since the the QB items appeared but nothing appeared under the OSC column. Also, and this is a curiousity question - When an item is reduced by being placed on Special within the original OSC setup (Catalog => Specials) will the reduced pricing be reflected within the QB invoice or will a "Transaction out of balance error" be generated since the OSC price will be different from the QB price? What we had done in the past (since we were doing the entry manually) was simply enter the reduced price. QB never squawked about it HOWEVER since we anticipate using this outstanding management tool now we are really curious. In closing - is there a guess-timate on the next version's arrival?
