    Seperate Pricing Per Customer v3.5

    OK, this is big time Off Topic--but my encounters with the participants of this thread have been the most productive in my young osC life, so I thought I'd ask here. I'm working on my first osC production site and, thanks largely to some great help from some of you, things are going well. Now I'm to the point of deciding how best to address the confusing (to me) subject of SSL and having a secure site. Can someone direct me to some explanatory documentation about this subject? I have a lot of specific questions, but I won't burden the list with them. I'm hoping there is, somewhere, some explanation of exactly how to go about having a secure osC store. Thanks in advance. Feel free to reply with a private message, as my question has nothing specifically to do with SPPC. Mike

    Thanks for the suggestion. JanZ, the moderator and current "author" of SPPC has given me the following code to place in sts_product_info.php, beginning around line 28. It is, I feel, the correct solution. // Get product information from products_id parameter $product_info_query = tep_db_query("select p.products_id, pd.products_name, pd.products_description, p.products_model, p.products_quantity, p.products_image, pd.products_url, p.products_price, p.products_tax_class_id, p.products_date_added, p.products_date_available, p.manufacturers_id from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS . " p, " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_DESCRIPTION . " pd where p.products_status = '1' and p.products_id = '" . (int)$HTTP_GET_VARS['products_id'] . "' and pd.products_id = p.products_id and pd.language_id = '" . (int)$languages_id . "'"); $product_info = tep_db_fetch_array($product_info_query); // BOF Separate Price per Customer if(!tep_session_is_registered('sppc_customer_group_id')) { $customer_group_id = '0'; } else { $customer_group_id = $sppc_customer_group_id; } $scustomer_group_price_query = tep_db_query("select customers_group_price from " . TABLE_PRODUCTS_GROUPS . " where products_id = '" . (int)$HTTP_GET_VARS['products_id']. "' and customers_group_id = '" . $customer_group_id . "'"); if ($scustomer_group_price = tep_db_fetch_array($scustomer_group_price_query)) { $product_info['products_price']= $scustomer_group_price['customers_group_price']; } // EOF Separate Price per Customer $template['regularprice'] = $currencies->display_price($product_info['products_price'], tep_get_tax_rate($product_info['products_tax_class_id'])); Rather than create a new field, Jan's solution calculates the $regularprice, using the SPPC rules. I've added this code and it works. If there's a way to get it into STS, or at least into the doc, that would be great. Thanks for your help.

    Yep, it's SPPC 4.1.1 (which is a kick-ass contribution, by the way--way cleaned up now). And yes, the issue in question is that we have created a product_info.php.html. On that page, we are using the $regularprice display field, but it is displaying the "wrong" price. We want our wholesale customers to see the wholesale price, but our new STS-driven page is showing the retail price. Our thought is that, if we can find where STS sets the value of $regularprice, we can add the necessary logic to get the price for the appropriate customer_group_id. Does ANY of this make sense? :blink: I'm often not sure I know what I'm talking about. Thanks. Mike

    Thanks for the reply, Iggy, but I think :blink: I did follow the instructions. The $regularprice (at least on my install) returns only the products_price from the products table. With SPPC, it should return the value of the customers_group_price from the appropriate row in the products_groups table, based on the customers_group_id of the customer. I'm in conversation with the author of SPPC, so "we" can add the necessary code to STS, but we don't know where the code is in STS to derive the $regularprice. Can anyone help here? Thanks a lot.

    Seperate Pricing Per Customer v3.5

    Yes, please do mail me your code. I'm a quick learner, and there's a lot to learn here. Thanks, Janet. mike@keywestwebworks.com

    Seperate Pricing Per Customer v3.5

    Hi Janet, I actually don't know if your reply makes sense or not. ;) I don't have a file named productlisting.php so I rooted around and found that there is one by that name with a contribution called A Conventional Listing For Products. Are you using that? It sounds like you've bailed on STS entirely. Is that true, too? How's my guessing? :P

    Is anyone here successfully using Separate Pricing Per Customer SPPC with STS? I'm looking for some code to add to STS, to return the correct product price, depending on the sppc_customer_group_id (typically wholesale vs. retail). Thanks in advance.

    Seperate Pricing Per Customer v3.5

    Janet, I'm in the same boat you're in, so I'm following your thread closely. It appears that $specialprice won't display the correct price either. Have you found the solution yet?
  9. Per the instructions at line 1021 (see below), I have uncommented four lines dealing with customer_price_1, customer_group_id_1, customer_price_2, and customer_group_id_2. But EP will still not export those columns. Can someone see my (obvously stupid) error? :blush: <?php // Current EP Version $curver = '2.74-MS2'; /* $Id: easypopulate.php,v 2.74 2004/05/03 VJ Exp $ */ // uncomment the customer_price and customer_group to support multi-price per product contrib $filelayout = array( 'v_products_model' => $iii++, 'v_products_price' => $iii++, 'v_products_quantity' => $iii++, 'v_customer_price_1' => $iii++, 'v_customer_group_id_1' => $iii++, 'v_customer_price_2' => $iii++, 'v_customer_group_id_2' => $iii++, #'v_customer_price_3' => $iii++, #'v_customer_group_id_3' => $iii++, #'v_customer_price_4' => $iii++, #'v_customer_group_id_4' => $iii++, ); A big thanks in advance.

    Seperate Pricing Per Customer v3.5

    OK, after lurking here for awhile, I'm finally ready to tackle SPPC. I went to the osC Contributions area and found the SPPC page. The most recent release there is 4.1.1 and the description says "This release does not include the HTML overview of the contribution in action with extensive pictures. Download version 4.1 of March 15, 2005 for that." But I can't find 4.1 anywhere. Can anyone point me there? Thanks.

    Where is 4.1

    Sorry, posted in wrong place.

    Seperate Pricing Per Customer v3.5

    I've been lurking on this thread ever since I asked (just before the new release) if "seperate" could be changed to "separate"? (as usual, you guys had already anticipated that one, thanks) After conceding that I'm new to this whole open source business, and being a very new user of osC, I'm wondering if important and (now) stable contributions such as SPPC are ever "folded into" the "base" product? In other words, since (I think) most users of osC would want/need SPPC funtionality, why not just incorporate it into a future release of osC? Just a thought . . . and congratulations to those of you who work on SPPC. This appears to be a truly professional effort.

    Is there any chance that when the new version comes out, the spelling of "seperate" can be changed to "separate"? For (anal) me, anyway, that change itself would improve this contribution. ^_^

    Easy Populate changes status on upload

    Never mind, I just found it in the doc. Sorry.
  15. I'm new to osCommerce and to Easy Populate, so take my question with that in mind, please. I'm testing Easy Populate, using my own test data. In osCommerce, I've "turned off" all the Stock options (check stock level and subtract stock) to false. To test Easy Populate, I downloaded a complete file, made a couple of minor changes to descriptions and uploaded the same file. All went well, except it appears the upload set the status of all the products to "out of stock." I assume this is because the quantity is 0, but I'm not planning to use osCommerce for inventory control. I suppose I could just set the quantity on everything to 1 (haven't tried that yet), but I'm wondering if there's a more "elegant" solution? Thanks in advance. Mike in Key West
