  1. Hi Robert, I would like to install a good article/news manager, and take advantage of it being a fly out menu, the better combination to my knowledge in addins is The Dynamenu categories+articles & article Manager (been tested) The problem starts in that for me to install article manager i need to install also Header Tags SEO which i don't need since site is very good with kissmt which i'm a fan of (congratulations). My questions: 1. Is there any addon you recommend to create and manage articles that works well with kissmt, and that allows to be used with dinamenu like article manager? thanks in advance
  2. I am using the fantastic addon DynaMenu, i guess i can't use this contrib with that, because would have to make changes in dM_categories.php. If anyone knows how to sort it share your ideas. On another issue... how do we uninstall the sql... can you give the sql code to uninstall the contribution thanks in advance
  3. Hi Robert, Congratulations for your valuable contributions, i have a couple of questions: * Im using USU 5, KissMT, Google XML Sitemaps all sitemaps are generated successfully * catalog/sitemapindex.xml - Sent URL's 377 - Indexed URL's 8 !?!?!?!?!? * catalog/sitemapproducts.xml - Sent URL's 258 - Indexed URL's 0 !?!?!?!?!? * catalog/sitemapcategories.xml - Sent URL's 19 - Indexed URL's 0 !?!?!?!?!? * catalog/sitemapmanufacturers.xml - Sent URL's 26 - Indexed URL's 0 !?!?!?!?!? * catalog/sitemappages.xml - Sent URL's 14 - Indexed URL's 8 !?!?!?!?!? How come in more then 500 URL's properly submited with USU5 and Kissmetatags & Canonical Header i'm only getting indexed 8 url's ??????? I used to have a sitemap.txt file in notepad where i statically wrote all links, and normally the indexation accuracy was about 90%, now it's like less then 2% ... something is wrong... i noticed google has not yet even "seen" my whole shop since it's online. Thanks
  4. Hi Jack, Congratulations for your valuable contributions, i have a couple of questions: * Im using also USU 5, all sitemaps are generated successfully, but only shows the default language, is it suppose to work like this?? If i can get more clicks with more languages, how can they show up in sitemap?? * catalog/sitemapindex.xml - Sent URL's 377 - Indexed URL's 8 !?!?!?!?!? * catalog/sitemapproducts.xml - Sent URL's 258 - Indexed URL's 0 !?!?!?!?!? * catalog/sitemapcategories.xml - Sent URL's 19 - Indexed URL's 0 !?!?!?!?!? * catalog/sitemapmanufacturers.xml - Sent URL's 26 - Indexed URL's 0 !?!?!?!?!? * catalog/sitemappages.xml - Sent URL's 14 - Indexed URL's 8 !?!?!?!?!? How come in more then 500 URL's properly submited with USU5 and Kissmetatags & Canonical Header i'm only getting indexed 8 url's ??????? Thanks
  5. replyes are appreciated, if you can feel free, thanks
  6. Ok first of all congratulations for nate for this contribution. I have a couple of questions that i'm sure have been replied somewhere and/or due to their degree of difficult being so simple could even be in the manual (i have read manual and tryed to find in forums but haven't found), so would highly appreciate answers. 1st Question: How do i insert in the classic category infobox in leftcolumn, the dinamenu above the standard listing? I mean this would allow users the normal display and above it a drop down quick navigation to any category. 2nd Question: How can i just remove the classic categories infobox (in this case i would go for dinamenu tree view)? I tryed to comment out in includes/column_left.php: //BOF code add dinamenu for categories include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'dm_categories.php'); //EOF code add dinamenu for categories /* BOF code comment out for categories infobox if ((USE_CACHE == 'true') && empty($SID)) { echo tep_cache_categories_box(); } else { include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'categories.php'); } EOF Code comment out for categories infobox */ if ((USE_CACHE == 'true') && empty($SID)) { echo tep_cache_manufacturers_box(); } else { include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'manufacturers.php'); } this only works on starting page after it doesn't (is it because legacy files in my cache??) thanks in advance
  7. Thank you for your prompt response Steve. Regards, Fc
  8. Thanks for replying Steve, SQL classes were nice though i have studied more but as i didn't implemented much in SQL i don't have it fresh, so i guess i can do it just browsing the table structure and delete the menu in configuration_group table with phpmyadmin. If it would be possible someone post an SQL uninstall would be nice. Anyway i have one more question: I am using in my shop the option / addon Only logged in customers can see prices, in this scenario would One Checkout be usable with any advantages?? (so i would keep the One Checkout installed in my web) Replies would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  9. Hi all, After trying to see what is wrong, and search the forums and this thread i couldn't find why this is happening. 1st Question: My links show like this in the rewrite URIs form: /catalog/renovveis-c-23.html?osCsid=3215e9919c53c1445b87c72fee2ca3c9 it is Portuguese and supposed to be /catalog/renovaveis-c-23.html?osCsid=3215e9919c53c1445b87c72fee2ca3c9 i.e instead of renováveis should be renovaveis, or eléctrica should be electrica à => a i have the conversion extras intalled and i have english, espanol and portuguese.php with the conversion arrays... everything is supposed to be like you indicate in installation instructions, so ... why doesn't this work?? Oh and btw: ?osCsid=3215e9919c53c1445b87c72fee2ca3c9 is not very handy to show in a sitemap or even in browser, ios there an easy way to take that part off the uniform resource locator. 2nd Question: I have security pro, USU Fwr 5, Kiss Err Fwr, and i would like to install a sitemap addon... What is the best Sitemap addon you would install?? I know this may have been answered somewhere in forums, and these questions seem to be newbiesh (but i am newbie lol) so please i am sorry to bother you with these questions but it is really important so i can move on with my eshops. Thanks in advance FWR or anyone else feeling in a mood to help a newbie Fc
  10. Also i have undone evertyhing but the option OnePage checkout still appears in admin what is missing? is it because the SQL?! thanks
  11. 12. Since i have got no reply and reading a bit in this post another person suggested this and it seems it is a nice fashion on how to sort so i take it as resolve.
  13. Hi FWR, congrats for the nice work you have going, Regarding the H1 title extra, can you be more specific, giving an example in code where shall the TD title be replaced? for instance in catalog/index.php. thanks in advance
  14. Hi all, Regarding languages, i have in my installation, the following: uk default pt-brasilian contrib espanol I noticed the time in my shop is one hour ahead, since i want the database to treat values in GMT (Its output is coming in GMT+1 (i found this in who's online report). Furthermore it should be treated for storing in db like this:'d.m.Y H:i:s'. If possible i would like to remove the errors displayed associated with timezones (as shown by KISS Error gracefully handler contrib reports - later in this post shown). So lots of questions, hence instead of hi-jacking a thread i thought i should come here. I found this installing Sam contrib, mentioned by spooks as a must have contrib for security pourposes: <quote>replace suggestion by sam contrib: define('DATE_FORMAT_SHORT', '%d.%m.%Y'); // this is used for strftime() define('DATE_FORMAT_LONG', '%A, %d. %B %Y'); // this is used for strftime() define('DATE_FORMAT', 'd.m.Y'); // this is used for strftime() define('PHP_DATE_TIME_FORMAT', 'd.m.Y H:i:s'); // this is used for date() define('DATE_TIME_FORMAT', DATE_FORMAT_SHORT . ' %H:%M:%S'); //// // Return date in raw format // $date should be in format mm/dd/yyyy // raw date is in format YYYYMMDD, or DDMMYYYY function tep_date_raw($date, $reverse = false) { if ($reverse) { return substr($date, 0, 2) . substr($date, 3, 2) . substr($date, 6, 4); } else { return substr($date, 6, 4) . substr($date, 3, 2) . substr($date, 0, 2); } } </quote> That brought me attention to the fact that there have to be considered 3/4 different timezones: -> Server timezone -> customer timezone -> script timezone -> a timezone for each language ????? To help in answers here go the questions: 1 - this is quite confusing for a newbie, can anyone explain this, and clarify the concept of timezones. I think the database obviously should store all the data in the same timezone, and obviously since my shop is in GMT geographically i should use London/dublin/Lisbon/morocco GMT. Also for portable reasons, the code should not rely on server timezone, thus not using timestamp variable (i read this bit in forums in a quick passage), it should rely on a specific global timezone GMT in my case). 2- does the original script relies in globaltimezone, or in the server timezone? Do we need to make changes for portable pourposes? Also discovered in language.php the following differ accordingly (uk is default, pt.br from brasil contrib, espanol contrib): --portuguese.php @setlocale(LC_TIME, 'pt_BR.ISO_8859-1'); define('DATE_FORMAT_SHORT', '%d/%m/%Y'); // this is used for strftime() define('DATE_FORMAT_LONG', '%A %d %B, %Y'); // this is used for strftime() define('DATE_FORMAT', 'd/m/Y'); // this is used for date() define('DATE_TIME_FORMAT', DATE_FORMAT_SHORT . ' %H:%M:%S'); --espanol.php @setlocale(LC_TIME, 'es_ES.ISO_8859-1'); define('DATE_FORMAT_SHORT', '%d/%m/%Y'); // this is used for strftime() define('DATE_FORMAT_LONG', '%A %d %B, %Y'); // this is used for strftime() define('DATE_FORMAT', 'd/m/Y'); // this is used for date() define('DATE_TIME_FORMAT', DATE_FORMAT_SHORT . ' %H:%M:%S'); --english.php @setlocale(LC_TIME, 'en_US.ISO_8859-1'); define('DATE_FORMAT_SHORT', '%m/%d/%Y'); // this is used for strftime() define('DATE_FORMAT_LONG', '%A %d %B, %Y'); // this is used for strftime() define('DATE_FORMAT', 'm/d/Y'); // this is used for date() define('DATE_TIME_FORMAT', DATE_FORMAT_SHORT . ' %H:%M:%S'); 3-Will this generate troubles in future, this setlocale variable is showing the customer timezone - only for displaying pourposes, or is it saved in database like that?? For instance i wouldn't like the saved information from a customer in china being stored in the database in chinese time (would be an incorrect information of the time the client really inputed the information) Also im getting this error report from KISS Error Gracefully Handler Contrib - FWR MEDIA: E_STRICT Error Count: 5 <b>It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'Europe/Paris' for 'WET/0.0/no DST' instead</b> Error FILES: includes/languages/portugues.php ->> date() [<a href='function.date'>function.date</a>] Line: 331 includes/modules/new_products.php ->> strftime() [<a href='function.strftime'>function.strftime</a>] Line: 16 includes/counter.php ->> mktime() [<a href='function.mktime'>function.mktime</a>] Line: 27 includes/counter.php ->> strftime() [<a href='function.strftime'>function.strftime</a>] Line: 27 includes/footer.php ->> strftime() [<a href='function.strftime'>function.strftime</a>] Line: 16 I guess many newbies to oscommerce will have this same troubles, so please would i thank for any contributors if they can give explanation regarding this. I don't know if this question has been replyed multiple times, and if this is the right section of forums to post anyway i did search and didn't found the answers so there it goes :) thanks in advance
  15. Hello can we discuss Site Monitor results here or is there a proper thread for this? well sorry if not i will post here, correct something if i'm wrong, help is apreciatted thanks, **RESULTS OF SITE MONITOR SCAN** Checked 103 directories containing a total of 859 files. Skipped 531 files. 3 suspected hacked files found. Hacked Files Found in scan modules/payment/paypal_standard.php modules/ultimate_seo_urls5/classes/Usu_Cache_Database.php modules/ultimate_seo_urls5/classes/Usu_Cache_Memcached.php Questions: 1- Why is sitemonitor skipping 531 files 2- why is paypal returning positive, i don't even have it installed, is it because of it's code although it's a safe one... 3- I know you don't comment in contributions made by others, but i'm not asking you to... i'm just asking if you agree the reason Sitemonitor is returning positive en ultimate_seo_urls5 is because it is creating cache directories (but once again they are safe) Answers will be greatly appreciated, keep up the good work and thanks.
  16. Hi FWR This will interest anyone using pdfs in his/her site as URL, so i would like to know a confirmation regarding if disabling redirect.php by excluding is ok?! or if it will pose a security problem?! thanks in advance
  17. OK I THINK I GOT IT... LOLOL I just exclude redirect.php...... Its working Is this a security breach or is ok to leave redirect.php excluded ?! thanks in advance
  18. Thank you very much for your kind answer . I would like to use the exclude files options (it is more pratical and i already tried to rename the files for 1.pdf and it still isnt working) because: - there is no security breach whatsoever - i don't need to modify any script which would pose an additional problem And finally i just need to upload a list of the files (that aren't that many) comma separated and without spaces EX: AA_efef_33.pdf,AA_3242_rf2.pdf,...,AB_234_23.pdf (by the way it doesn't matter where the files are does it? the pdfs are located inside a folder in root (outside catalog) and i don't have problem opening with security pro off, when it's ON it just redirects to shop entrance. Thanks in advance
  19. is anyone ever answering? btw im newbie to this forums, what is the average response time? i posted 5 critical issues in different threads affecting my shop 2 days ago and so far noone has answered me with an attempt of solution... i'm not the type of hassling to much with questions, i don't like to bother people and i think these forums are built to try and help, i know people here is volunteer so i really try to only post important things and if i can help anyone i will of course. And to be honest with you i thought oscommerce community would be bigger... for instance i tried to find but these forums don't have brazilian or portuguese sections (only german i think)... correct me if im wrong please thanks.
