    Facebook store as oscommerce shop

It sounds like you are saying you have not installed an OSCommerce shop on a FB page other than the ones you have provided links to in this thread. And the ones you have provided links to do not have a shopping cart page, checkout pages, a place to login, account pages, or anyway to add anything to a shopping cart. If you have never installed it how do you know, for example, that a buy button, or a payment module would work? (Also it's not clear if your shop is on http://apps dot facebook dot com/koenigagrar/index dot php?cPath= or http://apps dot facebook dot com/koenigagrar/product_info dot php?products_id=468&osCsid=e5c6a8f8b4f9a9c4830200a3ed9522b7 ) What's odd is that the two links above that you provided are not generating unique product strings for different products. And you never go from the index page to the product page or vice versa.

    Facebook store as oscommerce shop

Try what? The contribution consists of general information on becoming a FB developer and creating an iframe, and two paragraphs on how to upload the entire OSCommerce shop, alter includes/configure.php and redirect the output of the submit button to external site. No files, no working demo. Good luck with that submit button, or buy button, sending parameters to your externally located OSCommerce shop without first generating a product query string in the OSCommerce index page on FB. Please demonstrate a working buy-button on your link above, or another FB/OSCommerce page and I'll take this seriously enough to spend the time 'trying this'. Or even a working 'add to cart' button. If you can't demonstate that button you are asking people to spend a lot of time installing an iframe that displays products, and does little more, on a FB page, that you appear to be labeling a FB/OSCommerce integration.

    Facebook store as oscommerce shop

Visiting your link your FB page, I only see the index page (minus a product string) in the browser no matter what is clicked on. There is no way to add a product to a shopping cart, much less process a sale, and there is no place to login, or for a customer or user to create an account, or view customer account information. This contribution appears to do nothing more than display products. That is a long way from integrating a shopping cart into FB.

    Facebook store as oscommerce shop

I understand now, this contribution doesn't integrate an OSCommerce shop into FB, it just does a really nice job of displaying products on your FB page. If you do figure out how to integrate the two, you'll be a Rockstar around here.

    Facebook store as oscommerce shop

I see, do you mean when the customer signed on to their OSCommerce account, or started the checkout process, then they would be forwarded out of FB to the OSCommerce shop? or: Have you worked out a feed of the OSCommerce shopping cart, or perhaps even the posting of 'buy' button to a FB payment module? (something similar to how Paypal works with OSCommerce).

The problem with the SSL pages would go to the issue of which website the user is on. The point of the SSL certificate is to ensure the user, and the payment processor, that the website where the cc info is being typed into is that actual website. I don't know how you would be issued an SSL certificate on your FB page and process a secure OSCommerce transaction on a FB page.

Basically it look like you have the nonssl pages opening up in Facebook. What are you doing about the SSL pages? For example, login.php, checkout_payment.php, or the account pages? This is a nice way to display your products on your Facebook page, however.

ULTIMATE Seo Urls 5 - by FWR Media

Glad to know it's not the USU5. But USU5 aside, any idea why the SSL/NONSSl setting has gone awry? Or asked another way: What would be your best guess as to where I should start looking? Thanks

ULTIMATE Seo Urls 5 - by FWR Media

I have this contribution installed and all is well, so long as I have 'Enable SEO Urls 5' set to true in the admin. When I get set it to 'false' I get this error: ERROR! UNABLE TO DETERMINE CONNECTION METHOD ON A LINK! KNOWN METHODS: NONSSL SSL Any clue where I should start looking to find the issue? Thanks
  10. I have posted an update to the Mailbeez Bulkmail module. This update fixes the 'simulation mode' and 'list recipients' functions. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/7803
  11. I have the same question as forummaker. The first setting 'set days passed' I get. I'm pretty sure it means, if I set that value to '10' and John Doe places an order on Feb 1st, then on Feb 11th, John Doe's order shows up in the 'list recipients' list. It's the second setting that's confusing. If I set 'set days to skip after' to '20', then what happens on Feb 21st if I have not sent out John Doe's review request email? My assumption, is that it will not show up in the 'list recipients' list on Feb 21, but it would have shown up in that list on Feb 20th. Am I correct?
  12. The bulkmail for Mailbeez contribution is an independent contribution created outside of Mailbeez, so the issues above are not Mailbeez or Cord's coding. Judy, the error can be fixed by changing this: //count how many emails to send $count_queryleft="SELECT count(*) as count FROM subscribers WHERE customers_newsletter=" . MAILBEEZ_BULKMAIL_CUSTOMERS . ""; To this: $count_queryleft="SELECT count(*) as count FROM subscribers WHERE customers_newsletter=" . MAILBEEZ_BULKMAIL_CUSTOMERS . " GROUP BY customers_newsletter"; Also this statement: $count_mailed="SELECT count(*) as count FROM mailbeez_tracking WHERE iteration='50'"; may have a syntax error that is not an issue in older versions of PHP but is in the newer version. Perhaps someone more familiar with this can spot the problem. In any case the program will run if you comment out those sections, it just won't show the counts. Second issue: List Audience The bullkmail does have a 'bug' in that when you 'list the audience', you will only get the first name. However when you 'run' it, it will loop though the mailing list.

    css grid layout diagram

Use Firefox Web developer tools. Just browse to your site with Firefox, click tools>web developer and then you will have a dozen ways to display CSS, grid info, classes, etc etc overlaid on the webpage. While you are at it, be sure and install 'Firebug' on Firefox (just google it), it will give you all sorts of info on your site's performance.

    osCommerce with Wordpress

2.2 MS2? That would be one screwed up installer program. Simple Scripts is currently offering 2.3.1, 2.3, 2.2RC2 and also 2.2RC2a . Yes, it would not be hard to install the 'wrong' one if you were not familiar with the versions.

    osCommerce with Wordpress

if Rackspace has the program called cPanel on your website admin, then you have the installer script called Simple Scripts. Most webhosts have cPanel. With Simple Scripts you can install OScommerce 2.2RC2a or OScommercer 2.3.1 in literally a few mouse clicks, and install on whatever level you want it installed. There is nothing wrong with using SImple Scripts or an installer to install the program. The notion that the Installer doesn't have an 'up to date script' is not an issue when they are installing stable releases. OSC 2.2RC2A that you download off the OSCommerce site three months ago is the same program you would have downloaded 6 months ago. The OSC 2.3.1 installed by Simple Scripts yesterday is the same 2.3.1 you'll get off the OSCommerce site next week. Now when 2.3.2 is made available, then maybe for about a week you'll find it available on the OSC site but not Simple Scripts.

    osCommerce with Wordpress

If Rackspace has cpanel then all is well. Just open up cPanel, go to Simple Scripts and with a few clicks you'll have OSCommerce installed.

    osCommerce with Wordpress

I don't know how committed you are to Rack Space, but it is truly a simple 1 minute task to install OSCommerce, Word Press, Joomla or host of other programs on a $8 a month website from a webhost like Bluehost or Godaddy using 'cpanel'. It does not look like Rack Space has 'cpanel'. Cpanel will make your life worth living if you are a novice to this sort of thing. With cpanel and the included programs like phpMyAdmin and Simple Scripts, things like database and website management are relatively easy. It really should not be this hard to install OSCommerce, and I would question the Rack Space environment if you are having this much of a problem.

    osCommerce with Wordpress

Go to the link that says install, http://www.yourdomain.com/install sounds like you may be close. Otherwise, I am not the one to ask about installs. Maybe someone reading this who does this sort of work will pm you. There is a protocol on the forum for requesting/soliciting work, but I'm not sure what that is.

    osCommerce with Wordpress

There are also about 10,000 ways to screw up an install. It just takes one tiny little thing. If you did post your site (change those permissions first), there are about a dozen folks on the forum that could diagnose the problem in a heartbeat. Also, another solution is to start over, and if your Webhost has Simple Scripts or Fantastico on your Website Control panel, use one of those to install OSCommerce. If they don't have Simple Scripts or Fantastico, I would seriously consider using another Webhost like GoDaddy or Bluehost.

    osCommerce with Wordpress

There are a number of people who have succeeded in placing wordpress 'inside' OScommerce. Or rather, succeeded in placing Wordpress blog entries within a div or table that shows up on a page of OSCommerce. (For that matter you can place the New York times webpage within a div of your shop.) . That's a far cry from merging the two programs with a single databse and single login. On the other hand, the question some one asked on this forum, a question I still struggle to answer, is: Why put a blog on a shopping cart? What does Wordpress offer that will help you sell products? You can easily post interesting articles on OSCommerce and have them tied to products. (See the article manager). Okay, maybe you want to have an active dialog with your customers. You do have the customer reviews on off the shelf OSCommerce. A feed to your customers of daily events, sales, etc? In the end what is killing my desire to spend time trying to utilize WP in OSCommerce is Facebook. Facebook is a much better medium for keeping in touch with your customers, and spreading the news about your shop than WP. You can even sign on to OSC from Facebook. I mean even my printer (CopyCraft) has a nice Facebook page, and the neat thing about Facebook is that you can set it up in a day or so.

    OSC to CSS v2

    OSC 2 CSS is set up, centered, 960px wide. If your screen or browser is viewing more that 960px there will be white space. However, you could set the background to another color in the stylesheet. example: html{ background:#000000; }

    OSC to CSS v2

Yes, you should be able to cut and paste it from OSC2.2. Also the 'add to cart' button is a contribution or two and also appears in various places in the forum. See 'tips and tricks' .

    OSC to CSS v2

If you aren't connected to the internet and therefore the external jquery reference the buy and add to cart buttons should revert to normal behavior, so it does sounds like something is amiss. If you get the IE popup warning about secure and insecure items, then either download the jquery files from the jquery site or google site, or use this sort of reference for the external jquery files: <script type="text/javascript" src="<?php echo (isset($_SERVER['HTTPS']) && (strtolower($_SERVER['HTTPS']) == 'on') ? 'https://' : 'http://') . 'ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js'; ?>"></script>
  24. You really only need to focus on this: <div class="grid_4 center-align"> <p> <strong>GreaDiscounts4u </strong> <br />1001 McNutt RD 3 297<br />Conway, AR 72034<br /><a href="mailto:#">sales@greatdiscounts4u.com</a></p> <p>Tel: 501.205.9456<br /></p> </div> 1) check typos, make sure that center-align is not supposed to be center_align or align_center. (you have it two different ways in your code above) 2) Look real close for overriding selectors. Make sure in reset.css or anywhere else, that <p>, <strong> don't have any thing conflicting. (To test, remove them) 3) You can always do something like #footer p { text-align: center; } to override anything else. (assuming #footer is the id that this is all contained in) Really 90% of the time when I have something like this that seems simple and that should work, it is something buried in the stylesheets that is overriding it. Or a typo.
  25. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6553 Bulk Mail Engine This program sends newsletters in the newsletter manager to the customer list at a controlled rate of 'email per seconds'. This rate can be set by the user. For example, If the rate is set to '8', the program mails 1 email per 8 seconds, or 480 emails /hour. The purpose is to allow shop owners with small to medium size mailing lists to accomplish bulk mailings from within OSCommerce, directly from the database on shared host environments without exceeding website email limits. The Bulk Mail Engine opens a small control panel in the Newsletter manager. You select a newsletter, and from the control panel choose 'test' or 'send'. Next, select the customer grouping and initiate the mailing. The panel display a progress count, and has controls for pausing, halting and/or resuming the mailing. The program also writes a report file. Installation requires uploading one file, defining the file in includes/filenames.php, placing one line of instruction in the admin/newsletter.php file, and addition of language text to the main language file.
