    Phpmailer For Oscommerce

    What exactly does this contribution do? Specifically, will it send out newsletters to customers in the OSCommerce database through phpMailer?

    Bulk Mail Engine support thread

    As far as emails being 'blown out', or misaligned, etc, that is an issue unrelated to the Epishire mailing program, but rather it is a general issue with emailing web pages (html emails or newsletters). There are a number of solutions, and I don't really know the best ones. However, if you use the FCKEditor to create the newsletter start to finish, that often works. Also if you write the html code in the newsletter page for the email with the editor turned off, never hit the 'return key'. That gets interpreted as a '<br>' . This in effect means you write the code in one long line. Also here is a nice tool that puts all the CSS info 'inline' , and otherwise helps to format emails for bulk mailing: http://code.dunae.ca/premailer.web/

    Bulk Mail Engine support thread

    Oops, my mistake, I have directed you to the wrong support thread. I see you had a question about the Epishire Mailer, not the Epishire Bulk Email Engine. Anyway, here is the answer : Open up admin/epis_mailer.php find the line, about 33 : $epipimage1_raw= $epi_productslist_query['products_image']; change ['products_image']. to : ['products_image_sm_1'] I'm not sure if ['products_image_sm_1'] is actually the thumbnail, but if you look in the database (do you know how to use phpMyAdmin to do this?) for a table called 'products', you will see several fields labeled like products_image, products_image_med, products_image_lrg, etc. One of these will be the thumbnail image. You will also need to make this change for: $epipimage2_raw= $epi_productslist_query['products_image']; about line 89 $epipimage3_raw= $epi_productslist_query['products_image']; about line 146 as well. (just search for every instance of 'products_image' and change to 'products_image_sm_1' (or other))

    Bulk Mail Engine support thread

    Yes, The program is looking for the file epis_bulkmailer.php in home/akua/public_html/admin/newsletters.php, when in your website the file is in home/akua/public_html/zbr/admin/newsletters.php. In other words there is a mismatch between the program and includes/filenames.php (note the difference is the 'zbr'). To fix this go to includes/filenames.php and add the 'zbr' to the declaration of FILENAME_EPIS_BULKMAILER. This may not be exactly correct and depending on your file structure you may need to do this step a little differently.

  6. Maybe a bit cleaner would be to substitute a clean copy of admin/orders.php from the original install
  7. Okay, I'm looking a bit closer at this and yes, it does look like there is some conflicting code. Specifically between $email and $epis_email. Note that both the epis_emailer and package tracking plus are 'building' emails to send. However, the two variables, $epis_email and $email could be woven together. For example, as a start, if you took the two variables $products_image and $products_link from epis_statusmailer.php and inserted them into the definition of $email, then the image and link of that product would be included (somewhere!) in the email that Package Tracking Plus sends. However, you would have to locate the file epis_statusmailer.php up (place the line 'include('epis_statusmailer.php');') higher up the page on admin/orders.php than the Package Tracking Plus. Also comment out the line, with //, tep_mail($check_status['customers_name'], $check_status['customers_email_address'], EMAIL_TEXT_SUBJECT, $epis_email, STORE_OWNER, STORE_OWNER_EMAIL_ADDRESS); in epis_statusmailer.php to stop the Status mailer from attempting to send an email. Note that here is an example (untested!) of inserting $products_image and $products_link into the Packaging Plus email: $email = STORE_NAME . "\n" . EMAIL_SEPARATOR . "\n". $products_image. $products_link . EMAIL_TEXT_ORDER_NUMBER . ' ' . $oID . "\n" . EMAIL_TEXT_INVOICE_URL . ' ' . tep_catalog_href_link(FILENAME_CATALOG_ACCOUNT_HISTORY_INFO, 'order_id=' . $oID, 'SSL') . "\n" . EMAIL_TEXT_DATE_ORDERED . ' ' . tep_date_long($check_status['date_purchased']) . "\n\n" . $notify_comments . sprintf(EMAIL_TEXT_STATUS_UPDATE, $orders_status_array[$status]);
  8. What is probably happening is that on your modified admin/orders.php file, the program is running into instructions to send email before the it gets to the line installed for this contribution: include(FILENAME_EPIS_STATUSMAILER); That doesn't make complete sense, because my reasoning above would result in two emails. but try this: Look for any line with 'tep_mail' in admin/orders.php. If you find them, try commenting them out with // and see what happens.
  9. You can definitely do this. The reason the the credit card number flips off is because of where the 'submit' button is directing the page to refresh too. First, learn how to determine where the submit button is redirecting the page, and where to locate the redirect functions on the page. I cannot recall exactly where they are but each page has instruction on where the page reloads and refreshes. By manipulating where the page redirects you will change how the credit card 'blinks off' or remains in place. Second, locate this line: echo $order_total_modules->credit_selection();//ICW ADDED FOR CREDIT CLASS SYSTEM linked to ot_coupon.php in includes/modules/order total Moving that line around on the page moves the coupon and voucher fields. There are several submit buttons on the checkout_payment page, and you can 'move' the module away from one button and subject it to another. In other words, in and out being between <form></form> tags. I have my checkout_payment page set up with the coupon field directly beneath the credit card number field, with no submit button between them. Customers enter the credit card number, then if they have one, a coupon code. Then they press submit. They are send directly to the checkout_confirm page with the coupon calculated in on the order total. It can be done, and it just took me endless hours of futzing around to get it like this.

    shopping cart problem

    Whenever I have customers ask me this, invariably it is because they did not use the 'update' button on the shopping cart page, and assumed that refreshing the page or hitting enter after changing the quantity to '0' would remove the item.

    Timed bulkmail program

    I have written a program that will mail out newsletters (or emails) to the customer (or newsletter list) at a controlled, or throttled down rate. It works well but could be improved and I would like to submit it as a contribution with the hopes that more experienced programmers will work on it. I have made a contribution submission before, but I would appreciate it if someone could spell out a brief explanation of how to go about submitting and creating a support forum. Thanks!
  13. I would like to submit as a contribution a program I have written that will mail out newsletters (or emails) to the customer list (or newsletter list). Would someone be so kind as to give a brief primer on how to best set up a support thread? The program works well, but would certainly benefit from experienced scrutiny. The program will mail out anything in the newsletter manager at a rate of 1 email/per X seconds. ( for example if X is 8 it will mail out 480 emails a hour, thus appropriate for a store on a shared host environment). It is also easy to load and operate. For example, it does not require database manipulation to install, is self correcting, has a counter and is operated from a simple control panel in the Newsletter Manager. Thanks
