    Problem with Sales Channel

Hello, It should be checked in the Apache configuration (on the server level), and not in .htaccess (user level).

Website will not be fully working correctly without .htaccess. At least seo URLs.

    Installation Error 500

Hello, Try to comment out RedirectMatch rules in .htaccess files. Looks like you do not have Apache module mod_alias enabled: # RedirectMatch 403 /\\.svn(/|$) # RedirectMatch 403 /*\.sh($) # RedirectMatch 403 /*\.log($) And for security reason you can add Rewrite rules instead: RewriteRule /*\.svn(/|$) - [F,L] RewriteRule /*\.sh($) - [F,L] RewriteRule /*\.log($) - [F,L] Of course mod_rewrite should be enabled in the Apache configuration.

    Problem with Sales Channel

Please also make sure that your host allows to use rewrite rules in .htaccess file. Apache module "mod_rewrite" should be enabled by host. "AllowOverride" directive should be set to "All" by host in the Apache VirtualHost configuration. By default Apache directives AllowOverride and AllowOverrideList are set to "None", and in this case .htaccess files are completely ignored.

    Website Backup

Hello Loïc, If you need to move website to another host you need to: 1) create database dump using tools provided by the current host; 2) copy website files and database dump to the new host; 3) Import database dump into the database on the new host; 4) change database connection details in the files: <site root>/includes/local/configure.php <site root>/admin/includes/local/configure.php 5) In case if domain name of the website changed - login admin area and change domain for Sales channel.

    Website Backup

Hello Loïc, Sorry, it's not clear what recommendations do you mean. osCommerce v4 requires at least MySQL 5.7 and higher or MariaDB 10.1 and higher. And of course database dump is compatible across these versions. By default, after setup, website may take about 0.5GB and database about 40MB of disk space. Of course if you add thousands products, products options, multiple categories, database may take several gigabytes. If you have a knowledge to export/import MySQL dump in the command line - yes sure you can do it. Alternative method is PhpMyAdmin.
