  1. I had to abandon v4 for the two new sites I launched earlier this month. I stuck with what I knew and that was a mashup of 2.3.4 and phoenix. Since the 4 sites in this current project all use the same master product database I had thought that the multi channel paradigm might be perfect, but I couldn't get the look and feel of v4 to be even close to what the first 2 sites were, and the client did not want any significant changes. In the end I just wrote the new code I needed to run all 4 sites off the same database. I have all sites running on the same physical server, site 1 is complete with admin etc. Sites 2, 3 and 4 are mostly symlinks to site 1 with no admin at all. I just have separate language files, css files, and configure.php for sites 2, 3 and 4. It is not as elegant or functional as v4 is, but at least the customer experience matches expectations. Since I am now committed to v2.3.4 in its various forms for the next few years at least, I'll be just having an occasional look here at v4 to see how it's coming along.
  2. I also checked the wiki on creating a theme from scratch. I am just not there yet.... I know what has happened with this project as I am guilty of it myself... The development team knows this product so well that they cannot see it with 'outside' eyes. To them everything is logical, makes sense and is easy to use. From the outside, we do not have the understanding to appreciate this and rather we see something that is hard to use, complicated, and quite honestly, annoying. You guys have created a fighter jet and we are trying to learn how to fly it. Unfortunately we have only flown an old biplane and all the gizmos and functions are beyond us. We need to work up to it in stages. As I suggested before, it might be helpful to create an old-style look and feel template so we can at least have a starting point that is familiar. I do not like the old-style, but I do understand it. If I can see the widget that is used to generate a certain feature, then I will be in a better position to learn, edit, modify, be happy, and sleep well. O... and how do I create and edit a plain and simple home page? At present I can't seem to create a landing page that I can edit. I can create a page that is the landing, but I can't seem to edit the text. I can edit text on other pages though. I am also unable to get the store physical address to display.
  3. Me too! I have been doing this for a while but right now I want to give up. What would REALLY help is a basic configuration that comes out of the box with a single sales channel that has a similar look and feel to the 'old' osCommerce that we've been starting with for almost 20 years. Right now I can't even get the store physical address to display correctly. I have tried editing the widget to no avail. I can see all the benefits of being able to modify EVERYTHING, but if I can't figure out how to do it, then it's going to get very frustrating very quickly.
  4. There are some errors in the English version - where can I go to edit these? Once the files are corrected I can upload/send/owl them for use by anyone else. Thanks, Dave
  5. O good! I was on the right track. You are right though - most likely missed it completely after diff'ing against all my silly mods
  6. It appears that the core changes introduced in 1.0.7.3 are not compatible with this add-on. Once I get the new 1.0.7.4 changes merged in I will see if I can update the add-on to work with these newer versions. If anyone else happens to be looking at this same issue, please let me know if or how I can help. Thanks, Dave
  7. I found that the attribute manager content was displaying on all tabs, although the table itself was fine. To perform a quick fix for functionality, I had to edit /attributeManager/includes/attributeManagerPlaceHolder.inc.php and change echo '<div id="section_attribute_manager" style="padding: 10px;">'; to echo '<div class="tab-pane fade" id="section_attribute_manager" role="tabpanel">'; Dave
