  1. Shorter Checkout V1.0 for osCommerce 2.3X This is a simple little mod that reduces the checkout process with 2 steps by combining the login and create account page aswell as skipping the create account success page. Before: [1] Login >> [2]Create Account >> [3]Create Account Sucess >> [4]Checkout Shipping >> [5]Checkout Payment >> [6]Checkout Confirmation After: [1] Create Account/Login >> [2] Checkout Shipping >> [3]Checkout payment >> [4}Checkout Confirmation It can be downloaded here>>
  2. Blue toned dark background template for osCommerce 2.3.3.4 Link to add-on: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8990
  3. You can not edit/remove add-ons, you can only add in new packages. The old entries and files remain available for download as an archive for those who wish to checkout old versions. If there are major changes you might instead want to add it as a separate new add-on. If you have other needs and can not get hold of the site webmaster, you might try contacting one of the moderators and ask about information/assistance.
  4. The "upcoming" OSC V2.4 have a neat auto "prefix" functionality which works just fine with hard coded table names.
  5. Opencart 2+ has an interesting system in place for core modification, its called ocmod. (and/or and extension called vqmod) In short what it does is make a copy of the core files where modifications are done according to an xml instruction file, then the copy file will be used instead of the core file. This makes adding extensions and updating the core fast and easy. Its not perfect, has restrictions and conflicts do happen, but its still an interesting way of doing things and might give some food for thought.
  6. there should be a hook command for adding stylesheets and js file links to the head section, that would be the preferred way. That would also allow for "auto" minifying and combining scripts/css.

    Dark Background Oscommerce 2.3.3.4 Template

Dark Background Oscommerce 2.3.3.4 Template V1.2 What's changed in V1.2? - Misc. checkout color changes. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8990
  8. For multi currency shops...yes
  9. My suggestion would be to make an official V 2.3.5 , where the only major change from 2.3.4 is that jquey ui is replaced by Bootstrap 3 to make it mobile responsive. This would give oscommerce responsive design in the current official stable version right now and then the development of the new 2.4 could proceed at its own pace.
  10. have a look at the sponsor shipping page for a possible USPS solution: http://www.oscommerce.com/Services&shipping
  11. I for one do applaud Burt for all the work being done, I might not agree on all decisions and choices made for the new version but its great to see something being done in advancing oscommerce into the modern area.
  12. Changing the folder where thumbnails are stores is an easy task, its just to change 1 define in the instructions. Change to for instance and then just create a folder named /thumbs/ within the /images/ directory. For those who don't want to make a new folder...they could instead change it to: or alternatively

Simple gray skin/template for osCommerce 2.3.4

You will have to manually style osc2.3.4 bootstrap or you can look at something like: http://forums.oscommerce.com/topic/398773-234bs-responsive-template-no-core-code-changes/

    Paypal losing order info

The paypal standard module included with 2.3+ is a IPN module that pre-saves the order, so you can simply change out your old one with that. Or if you don't want to replace the module you have, you can try this: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/8984
  19. Its possible to make a similar look for 2334bs, but due to the differences that would require different changes than the default 2.3.3.4 so it would make more sense to just start from scratch than use anything from this template.
  20. How to revert back from the grey template image system to the default one while keeping the gray skin. (Not tested, but should work) 1. Add back in the backup or use a default oscommerce 2.3.3.4 product_info.php file. 2. Add back in the backup or use default oscommerce 2.3.34 includes/template_top.php Edit includes/template_top.php and change: to: and after: add:
  21. you can revert back to your backup files again. (removing the grey template) . You can then add in only parts of it again and that way get the looks while retaining the default image system with mouseover to view.
  22. Deliberate .... So instead of mousing over the thumbnails and then having to click on the main image... you just click directly on the thumbnail to view the full size image.
