    UPSXML Not Working

See this post from several days ago. http://forums.oscommerce.com/index.php?showtopic=225967 I know there have got to be a lot of you out there who are using the UPSXML contribution. Can some of you please take a few minutes to go to your website, add a few items to your cart and then go to the first screen of the checkout procedure where it shows you the shipping options. When I do this I get the errors listed at the link above. I don't know if it is a problem with the the UPS server or if it is a problem connecting to UPS from my hosting provider. Can someone please help. My website is live and has been running fine for over a year with this contribution, and it all of a sudden just stopped working. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kris

    UPS not working

Just for further information, I have the following situation. PHP 4.4.4 Mysql 4.1 phpsuexec support enabled suexec enabled I riped the CURL code out of the UPSXML.php file and ran it in it's own file against my own website and against google.com and it returned a proper response, but when I try to access the UPS server, it times out after 60 seconds. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

    UPS not working

My site has been working fine until now. If you add some items to the cart and then try to checkout, it takes forever for the shipping page to load, then under the UPS section, I get the following error. Rating and Service 1.0001 0 An unknown error occured while attempting to contact the UPS gateway : Rating and Service 1.0001 0 An unknown error occured while attempting to contact the UPS gateway If you prefer to use ups as your shipping method....... Then my webmaster gets 4 emails with error messages. #1 Error from cURL: Error [7]: couldn't connect to host experienced by customer with id 2 on 2006-09-01 21:57:46 #2 UPSXML TimeInTransit Error: : experienced by customer with id 2 on 2006-09-01 21:57:46 #3 Error from cURL: Error [7]: couldn't connect to host experienced by customer with id 2 on 2006-09-01 21:58:46 #4 UPSXML Rates Error: Rating and Service 1.0001 0 An unknown error occured while attempting to contact the UPS gateway : Rating and Service 1.0001 0 An unknown error occured while attempting to contact the UPS gateway experienced by customer with id 2 on 2006-09-01 21:58:47 . Anyone have any ideas? Is the UPS server having problems? Thanks, Kris

    Official PayPal IPN Support Thread

Sounds like you created your sandbox fake paypal account with the same email address that you have set in your paypal ipn module in osc. You can't do that apparently. You need to create an account as if you were some Joe user coming to your site. For example, if your real PayPal email address is orders@yourdomain.com and that is what you have set your PayPal IPN payment module to use, then when you login as a customer to the sandbox, create an account with an email address like customer@yourdomain.com. I wondered the exact same thing about the CC info. I thought it was pretty stupid, but I guess PayPal is using their real code but just in a testing environment. Therefore you have to put in a valid CC number for it to pass validation.

I realize that you are trying to store out the order into the db in case the user never returns to your site, but shouldn't it happen after the use clicks on the confirm button. In other words, the user would click "Confirm Order" and the request would be submitted back to the checkout_confimation.php page, the order would be logged, and the user would then be redirected to the PayPal website. Am I wrong or can someone else confirm what I am seeing and agree that it shouldn't work that way?

You need to login to the sandbox developer account and create a dummy paypal account, then login with that. It can be the same as your user account on the real PayPal site.

It's working properly. Just login to your sandbox developer account that first time, then go back and confirm your order again. You just need to get an active session in the sandbox, then after that you can submit orders and it will ask you to login as if you were a normal paypal user submitting a payment.

New UPS XML Shipping Module available

JanZ, Well, thanks for the reply. I had done this before, but tonight I again unintsalled and reinstalled the module through the admin side of osc, and now it works! Don't ask me why, but I'm not complaining. I do have a suggestion though, it would be nice that if the admin enables insurance on the UPS shipping, that it would somehow be displayed to the user so that they know that insurance is already calculated in the shipping amount. Thanks for the contribution.

    Official PayPal IPN Support Thread

I have found what I believe to be a MAJOR Bug with this module. The bug allows users to create fake orders by not completing the checkout. I only have two payment modules installed, check/money order, and the official Paypal IPN. Everything works fine if I choose to pay with a check, but if I choose to check out using Paypal, the customer order shows up in the backend admin orders list as soon as I go to the checkout_confirmation.php page. At this point, the customer has not clicked on the confirm order button, but it has already created the order in the database as if they had. So, since we have not hit the confirm button, the customer can potentially click on the cart button and remove the items from their cart and never finish the order. But, now we have an order in our database. Shouldn't the order not actually get saved to the database until the customer clicks on the "Confirm Order" button before they are transferred to the Paypal website.

New UPS XML Shipping Module available

I have the latest version of the UPS XML module installed, and I have logging turned on. When I try to go to the checkout page with the module enabled, all I get is a white screen. The log file then contains the XML and everything looks ok there, and nothing is entered into the error log. I have the store pickup and usps modules enabled. Any ideas? I really need this, but I don't know how to get it working. My site is live, but I currently have the UPS module disabled. EDIT: I had it working with a bit older version, but then my webhosts server crashed, and I moved to a new hosting service. Now it doesn't work anymore. But, I reinstalled it entirely. Thanks.
  14. In other words, can these two contributions co-exist? Has anyone tried it?
  15. Hi, I'm working on a osc website for a photographer who wants their clients to be able to order their prints online. I have incorporated the Attribute Quantity contribution so that when the client views an image on the product info page, they see: 4x6 $5.00 [ ] 5x7 $8.00 [ ] 8x10 $12.00 [ ] and they can add however many 4x6s, 5x7s and 8x10s that they want to the shopping cart all at the same time with one press of the Add to Cart button. However, I would also like to incorporate the option type feature so that we can add Albums as products and allow the clients to customize their albums directly on the website. The albums could be added to the cart one at a time, but would have maybe a dropdown for the cover color, a checkbox for a cameo on the cover and so forth. Has anyone used these two contribs in combination? Thanks,
