define MySQL Server on MySQL DB

I have migrated the server from old linux to new linux per godaddy's suggestion and the MySQL server was not on localhost previously, the programmer configured the osc v2.2.1MC (I think), so I upgraded it to latest version of OSC, also ran the upgrade SQL file. I changed the configure.php files on two different location however some reason OSC is keep looking for old MySQL Server instead localhost at all. "Warning: mysqli_connect() [function.mysqli-connect]: (HY000/2002): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/content/06/3411506/html/includes/functions/database.php on line 20 Unable to connect to database server!" I looked the database.php and application_top.php but does not define the previous MySQL settings at all. So I query the "select @@hostname" that brings up the old server name, I'd like to find out if previous programmer hard coded the server name in MySQL database and if anyone knows how to do it?

define MySQL Server on MySQL DB

database.php shows " $$link = mysqli_connect($server, $username, $password, $database);" however the site is still looking for old MySQL Server information, I upgraded to 2.3.41 from 2.2.1MC and some reason the site is keep trying to connect to old hosting MySQL server instead local host. Checked the application_top.php but nothing in there. when I ran "select @@hostname" on phpadmin, it shows old MySQL Hosting server name, so I wonder if the guy hard code in MySQL. I am getting "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/content/06/3411506/html/includes/functions/database.php on line 20Unable to connect to database server!" How can I fix that, it is really hard to find out
  4. Hi, Previous programmer defined the MySQL Server name on MySQL directly, not thru configuration.php file, How can I find where he assigned MySQL Server directly on the MySQL server? Could you please anyone let me know how to do it? my site is http://www.fashionpointinc.com/ Please advise, if anyone can fix it for me, please send me a quote.
